Great mechanic - honest and very fair with prices. I brought my wife s car in for what I thought needed all new brakes. Jeff called and told me the fronts were fine and only replaced the rears. Unlike the other mechanic I used to go to in town, he was honest about the work that needed to be done and did not try to pile on additional work. Really happy to have landed here.

Been coming here for a few years now, and I refuse to take my business anywhere else. Jeff and crew are talented mechanics and dedicated to their customers. They go out of their way to give service ans advice well beyond any other mechanic I've worked with before. They don't price gouge and they don't attempt to convince you to fix things that aren't broken. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Scammy. Charged me almost $500 to fix the AC knob. Apparently spent 5 hours playing around with it and didn t think to call me to give me a quote first. Car was probably worth less than the fix he did. Knob ended up breaking a year later anyways.Just to verify, this was at JMS on York. It s nothing personal Jeff, I just didn t like my experience and felt cheated so want to share so others are aware. I ll even attach my credit card statement showing that it IS JMS.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, A/C installation & repair

Excellent service at a fair price. I will definitely come back when I need work done on my truck. Jeff only replaced what was needed. Very trustworthy. Tom is an excellent member of the team.

We were on our way home from vacation when our car decided it was gonna die on us literally was able to make it off of two different highways, get onto some roads, and pull into a parking lot before it completely shut off on us. Googled mechanic near us and I thank god we ended were we did because it was literally the best mechanic service we have ever received. I have never had a mechanic go above and beyond as much as this place did. Found us a tow company to get our car to them, ordered the part for our car ASAP for delivery the next morning worked fast to get us back on the road and on our way home. He also recommended hotels, good food places in that area, and keep us in the loop of our car until it was ready for pickup. This place is not just in it for your money they are actually out there helping the community the best way they know how and that s awesome!!! Thanks from your forever grateful customers in Pennsylvania!

I literally just had the best auto mechanic experience in my life. I had taken my car to the dealership for a recall and, of course, they found $1,800 worth of repairs that needed to happen - much were due to the age of the car, not the miles.I took the car to Jeff for a second opinion. Not only was he highly responsive, he actually called me into the shop while the car was on the lift to give me his teams diagnosis. He gave me confidence they were honest and we took care of all the necessary repairs that day. In the end, I saved $900 and they earned a new customer. In June 2015 I had JMS Auto Repair look at and service a used car I had just purchased. I expected a number of items to need repair, but it turns out some of them were unneeded. Jeff did not try to sell me work that wasn't needed.The evaluation, diagnosis and repair work was done well, communication was great, and the pricing very fair. The ability to get a hold of Jeff and talk to him directly is a VERY helpful benefit in using JMS.I highly recommend JMS - 5 stars!August 11 update: Jeff (and Dan and Frank) did it again for me. Only 4 days before my daughter had to take the car to Montana, it was involved in a weekend fender-bender. By Tuesday JMS replaced an exterior mirror, painted to the right color, and fixed the dents and scratches beautifully. Jeff and his team made the car look as good as new again. The work, the timing and the price were fantastic. I was glad my trusted mechanic could even do great body work. My wife kept sayng she couldn't believe how wonderfully it was done.

I went to a different auto shop and the guys there told me that the screw I ran over was unable to be patched up, and tired to say I needed to replace my tire completely. I had a feeling this was a lie because this wasn t my first rodeo. So I take my tire to JMS and they patch it up within 20 minutes with a very reasonable price. This is the first auto place I actually feel I can trust, most places try to get any penny they can get out of me by saying all these things need to be fixed and what not. JMS is honest, reliable, and professional. Very nice and welcoming people. 100% going back.Service: Tires

Jeff and his team are exactly what you expect from a small, local business. They offer great work, fair prices, and personal service. Jeff was very patient with my insurance over the phone, and his estimate was right on par with the actual cost. I highly recommend JMS and their crew.

Jeff did me a huge solid today! He helped me get a refund for a battery that was defective. I m sure JMS carries high quality parts but as with anything sometimes there are defects. Jeff took time out of his day to work with me on multiple occasions and solve my problem when I know he was in the middle of working on other vehicles.

If you were like me and are looking for a mechanic that isn't going to "find" other things wrong with your car or pressure you into getting the repairs done, you've found your mechanic. Jeff was very good at laying out my options for getting my wife's car fixed and LEFT THE DECISION up to me without scaring me into making a decision. This was great because you go to any dealership and they SCARE you into paying for the repairs. That didn't happen. And Sam did the repairs on my vehicle and he was fast and thorough. Just an overall positive experience.

I was working in the area from out of state and had my ABS light come on in my truck after my brakes started not working properly. Called them after seeing previous good reviews and they were able to assess my truck right away. Had the new sensor ordered and I was back on the road within a very timely manner. Good service, communication, great team, and I appreciated the fact they test drove it to ensure the issue was resolved, good experience, I would recommend.

Had a serious engine problem. Was referred to JMS by a friend after looking around at several places. Jeff was fantastic. He diagnosed the issue, took the time to help me understand what was going wrong, and broke down my options for repair. It was a very serious and expensive repair (broken turbo). I really shopped around for solutions to my issue before talking to Jeff. JMS was right in line with other quotes I had gotten, and perhaps a little lower, but at the end of the day it was the care and customer service that sold me which was absolutely above and beyond. My car would not start and I called Jeff. He sent his tow truck right away and jumped start my car. Battery changed and all under an hour. This is not the first time we used his service. He is courteous, quick to response, honest and reasonable price. A gem mechanic in Elmhurst neighborhood.

Fast service and resolved all the issues after tow. Fairly reasonable and thorough.Came through for me when another repair place 'fixed' my car only to have 3 other major repair problems all mysteriously show up after driving maybe 20 miles. JMS showed me the problems they found and were just as perplexed as I was as to how the trans and radiator could have been bone dry considering the other place fixed a power steering problem.Next time I'm towing it here first and save myself the hassle.

Went in for an oil change and tire rotation, came out with an oil change and tire rotation. JMS has been a great experience and I would visit again. It s a smaller shop (2 bays) so I would call ahead for availability, but they got me in and out same day.

My HVAC blower was intermittently operational. They found it was a loose connection and spliced in a new one to save me some bucks. Took care of a leaking tire as well. Highly recommend.

Jeff has been my mechanic for over a decade. This is a fair honest shop. Awesome. Highly recommend them. No worries about getting ripped off. They don't try and add bs fixes that aren't needed. Seriously go to them!!!! I haven't used another mechanic since I found them.
