I was looking for a place closer my house and Ernie s had to the best reviews in town. I understand why they were so highly rated after using their facility. Staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Linda, the service advisor, is the most delightful woman to interact with. She really is the cherry on top of the overall experience. Thank you the entire staff!

Brought in a leaky tire to be checked outThe tire had a rim leak and valve stem leak. The proper repairs were taken care of. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended

Was convenient being it s down the street from my work. Charged $50+ (half hour of labor) for them to replace an air filter that takes all of 5 minutes to replace. And they must have spilled oil on the exhaust when doing the oil change because for 3 days after the service I could smell oil burning while sitting at a stop light or after pulling into drive way. Also was told because my oil cap is aftermarket and doesn t seal like an oem one it (blow by) and will cause a loss of oil pressure. I was a mechanic for 10 years. That s not how that works. Blow by is caused by excessive crank case pressure which my car does not have. Also with that being said crankcase pressure and engine oil pressure are 2 completely different things oil is sucked out of the pan by a mechanically driven pump and provides pressurized oil where it s needed throughout the engine. And will never be affected by an oil cap being loose/not sealing completely. Not very knowledgeable and overpriced will not be returning

Said they don't normally work on diesel vehicles but they got me in same day and replaced my thermostat within a few hours. Will recommend and come back.

Went for an oil change and change a light bulb on my prius. 110$. I didnt say anything when i picked up my car because there was people inside the waiting area, when i called to complain Linda told me that she needs to pay the technician thats why. So get this right? Its 35 dollars for an oil change and 65 dollars to change a light bulb, and by the way i brought my own light bulb. They call this paying the technician i call this stealing. DO NOT GO HERE

I called their store and asked for an alignment same day and they were able to get me in and finish up before they closed which was amazing. They also charged me for what they actually worked on, front end alignment, and also patched up my hanging underbody splash guard which I didn t realize was hanging for free. Amazing work they do here and I m surely coming back again.Service: Wheel alignment

My car broke down on the highway on my way to work, and after a quick call to Ernie's I was told they could help me out! My water pump ended up being the culprit, and they were able to repair the car the same day. I was very surprised with the price since it was lower than I expected, and very happy with the overall work done. I HIGHLY recommend going to this shop for your car troubles.Mike and Linda got me squared away, and are both super nice. Linda even offered to set me up with a ride home while my car was being worked on! It's hard to find a reliable mechanic, but I feel I've found the one

I am not really happy . I have been going there for years and always worked with the Hispanics gentleman. He was great. I called and talked to a lady and she quoted me $350 plus tax for 2 tires. When I went to pay she said $488. I said you quoted 350. She said no so she did something and then said $422. This is the first major car repair I ve had done at Ernie s and they did a great job. The staff is always very helpful and pleasant and I feel they re very honest and trustworthy. Absolutely amazing service and very reasonably priced. Potter, Linda and their team go above and beyond when providing services. They drove out to my house to pick up my car and dropped it back off once they had replaced what needed to be repaired.As long as Ernie s is around, my car will not be taken anywhere else if there should be any issue. I went to Just Tires on 83 for an alignment and got charged more there. Here i think price is good and they did a better job honestly. Respectful staff, will be coming back

Great service, great experience, fair price. I called ahead to schedule an oil change and engine air filter replacement. They had me drop the car off at 8am and the front office was very nice and courteous. I had actually added on the air filter replacement when I dropped it off - they called my about 30 minutes later with the cost of the service which was nice because it gave me the option to decline if I thought the price too high. The car was done a couple hours later and I picked it up and paid. I received an invoice with all services rendered and cost breakdown.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Oil change

Went in for an oil change, went well per usual, but I ve only ever shopped with Tiretracks so with the merge of Ernie s auto there was a price raise which I wasn t expecting as the only reason I go to tiretracks at all was for the lowest price for my specific vehicle. Amazing service amazing people but if I find a lower price I won t be back unfortunately. I have a newer Honda with full synth.

Being a single woman walking into an auto repair shop can be an extremely scary situation. I know very little about cars and just expect to be totally ripped off. This never happened at Ernie s. After years of service at his shop I have always felt comfortable that he was being honest and fair with his pricing and maintenance of my cars. Just moved to Bensenville. I was calling around having a hard time finding a shop that would service my 1988 Nissan because of the age (you d be surprised ) until I called Ernie s! There s a reason they have such amazing reviews! These guys are top tier with communication, customer service and very respectful to me as a female customer. They did an extremely thorough diagnosis of my vehicle and were able to fix the shifting issue I was having. I definitely recommend them, and will be back! Probably sooner than later with this lemon, haha .

I was having some problems with my power steering pump. It was making a whining noise. I took it to the dealer to be checked and they gave me a very pricey estimate to have it replaced. I looked up automotive repair shops near me, and Ernie's popped up first. I called and Ernie was so pleasant and told me to bring my car in and he'd take a look. He replaced my power steering pump quickly and a lot cheaper than what the dealer was going to charge. Ernie's Automotive provided quality work, reasonable pricing, and quick service. Ernie's Automotive offers great quality service at fair prices. My vehicle was having issues with the power steering system. Ernie and his team were able to diagnose the issue and have the vehicle repaired with a surprisingly quick turnaround time. Would highly recommend their service.
