This was a while ago, but I got in a fender bender that required work to be done on my car. After I dropped the car off, they had it for just about the amount of time they told me, we re very transparent on what they were doing, and my car ran great after. I d recommend them to anyone who needs auto body work.

Schaeffer Auto Body was the only shop who took my car for an estimate the day after my accident. All the other approved by State Farm Body shops gave me between one and three monts appointment waiting time for an estimate only! They were very nice and updated me with timeline and every step of the repair. I am extremely satisfied with how my car was taken care of. Theresa and Dave are the best. Schaeffer Auto in Elk Grove Village, IL ~ are an excellent auto repair shop. They fixed my car in under a week. Even though we re all experiencing delays on certain vehicle parts due to all of the strikes, they were able to obtain the necessary parts and repair my vehicle pretty quickly. I didn t even have to go through the hassle of making any payments because they handled everything with the insurance company. And the insurance company paid them directly. Schaeffer also went ahead and scheduled a rental car for me which picked me up directly from their shop at the same time that I dropped off my car. And when my car was ready, I just dropped off the rental at Schaeffer and the rental car company came and picked up their car.Schaeffer also buffed out the rest of my car that had minor scratches, washed and vacuumed everything nicely too. The service was outstanding, keeping me updated on the progress. David O Brien, was very helpful, professional and knowledgeable. He explained how the process worked. Wish I could give more stars! After having my car damaged and going through my insurance one of the nearby auto body shops they listed was Schaeffer on Higgins so I picked it purely out of convenience due to location. So glad I did! The process was so smooth and completely hassle free. I felt like I was just being taken care of and not that I had this stressful chore to manage. I always ask a million questions and it can be annoying (I know I'd be annoyed) and all of them were answered thoroughly and with genuine intention to make sure I got my answer, not just fluff or generic customer service wording. I mostly worked with Dave who was AMAZING! So friendly and helpful and wonderful to just chit chat with. He walked me through every part of the process. I also spoke briefly with Theresa but even that short phone interaction was so pleasant.They also have a set up with a nearby Enterprise that made getting a rental while my car was being repaired a complete breeze. My car was finished THREE DAYS ahead of schedule - kudos to everyone in the shop! - which also meant I could return my rental early (which I was able to just drop off at Schaeffer, so easy).This was my first time, thankfully, needing service from an auto body shop and I was very worried about the whole process and was sure it was going to be a head ache but I can happily say that the staff here proved me wrong. If ever I need to have work done on my car again I will be going straight to Schaeffer.THANK YOU!!!!

Everything was great- my car back good as new! Theresa kept me in the loop every step of the way regarding eta and repair status. Quick with repairs and my car was done when they promised. The customer service is spectacular they are kind and effective they take the right amount time to give you the best work one and done no need to keep going back unless you want to the environment is professional the employees are super nice and accurate and best of all they take care of everything dealing with the insurance and tow companies they are the best. Just because you've been in business since 1956 doesn't give you the right to verbally abuse patrons. When I dropped my car off at this autobody shop I had never once jumped it in 4+ years, When I picked it up from the auto body shop the car was completely dead battery dead. According to Teresa they "did me a favor" by jumping the car. Having tobuy a new battery for my car after it being serviced was not even the worst part. The worst part was the verbal abuse I received from Theresa. When I dropped the car off I had a phone charger some costume jewelry, change and make up. It was none of significant value besides sentimental value.There was also an ashtray in my passenger side door. After arriving home I realize none of my belongings from the center consul were there anymore. So the next day I contacted Schaeffer auto body (never once did I accused him of stealing it) I simply asked Theresa to check with her employees if the belongings were moved or misplaced or removed from the car. Can you believethis woman flat out refused to even ask heremployees? Because, her exact words, "Nobody wants your make up nobody wants your jewelry nobody wants your phone charger it's your stuff you lost it go and find it if you call back here again I'll call the police." I don't understand why she didn't ask her employees or threatened police action, but Idid end up finding my missing belongings inside the ashtray of my passenger side door, covered in ash, which is absolutely not a place I would leave them. The whole reason I dropped the car off was because I had been rear ended in an accident and the at fault party's insurance directed me to this shop. I have since contacted that insurance company and requested Schaffer auto body to be removed from their approved vendors list.

My car looks perfect. I really cannot put into words how satisfied I am with the service I received here at Schaeffer. Teresa was very transparent with me regarding timeline, cost, and process with State Farm. I will absolutely refer my friends and family to this auto body in the event they need your services. Schaeffer came highly recommended, and they did not disappoint! I went to them after scraping my car on my alley wall, and the entire experience from estimate to pick up was very smooth. The work was more extensive than I had expected (I scraped the runner in addition to the door), but I felt very confident that their work was going to be thorough and long-lasting. I m very pleased with my experience, and I wouldn t hesitate to recommend them or use them again!Services: Painting, Body & Trim

I was in an accident in November and had the car towed to Shaeffers. It became clear the damage Was so extensive the car was totaled. Even though they wouldn t get the repair fees, the staff helped us communicate well with our insurance company to get the best possible settlement. Theresa in particular went out of her way to help us navigate everything from retrieving items from our vehicle to negotiating the full value of our car. After a stressful experience it was such a gift to be so well informed. This group is honest and cares about its client. Highly recommend!

Amazing place. Found a deer with my car and got a few estimates. My insurance covered it but I wanted to see who I got a warm fuzzy feeling from and this is the place to go! Dropped my car off, they stayed in contact with me about any updates and how the progress was going. I went to get my baby back and she was beautiful. Just a beautiful as the day I bought her brand new. They nailed it and I would recommend anyone and everyone here. I even had my husband take his car there because that s how amazing they are.

First off I would love to say that this place does not just amazing work but AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL WORK. I had an accident back in October and I went and got estimates from 3 places and I took it somewhere else to have it fixed. After being at the other place for almost 2 weeks and still getting nowhere I made the move to take my care to Schaeffer Auto Body. I moved my car here for various reasons that I will share. The first reason is during the estimate process the owner Diane who took my information called a few days later to check up and see how the process was going so I to.d her I took it somewhere else and she said that was ok and that if I ever needed anything to call. Secondly I started having issues with the other shop and I couldn't get stuff explained to me and it was suggested that I call a lawyer and get them involved all the while my car still hadn't been looked at for a full estimate. After this I took Diane up on her offer to call if I had issues and I explained to her what was going on where she told me that it didn't sound right so she directed me to her service writer Theresa who is absolutely amazing herself. Even though my car was not at this shop for repair they went out of their way to help me understand what was going on. I have Theresa the information I had and she told me that she would get back to me and not even 3 hours later I had a call explaining everything in a way that should have been from the start. After talking with Diane and Theresa I made the excellent decision to move my car to shop that cares about their customers.they said that it would take time because they were busy and I said that was fine because as after all they did for me explaining stuff I knew I was in the right spot. They kept in contact with me the whole time during the process and I stopped by a time or two and saw the progress, and when all said and done the gentlemen in the shop did an amazing job between stripping, ordering parts, and reassembling my car, even the paint job was spot on. Looking at my car it needed fixed from the passenger door clear around to the drivers door and the body man they blended the paint so well that you can't even tell there was an accident. After all work was done they had it detailed and cleaned. I am truly happy that these people went out their way to help me and that I took the chance and had them fix my car I will and have directed people to them because there has been a lot of positive comments on how well the job. Looks and how well the paint was blended. This place gets an A+++ with me at all times and highly recommended.

With terrific coordination/communication throughout, with apparently great care in performing the work, and with patience in explaining/demonstrating the work after completed, Schaeffer replaced the body mounts/bushings on my classic car. Theresa and team took great care of us after a freak hit to our car when it was parked on a street in MI. We had it towed to Schaeffer and it was white glove treatment from the start - even when our insurance was very difficult. We always knew what was happening and they made sure our car was repaired correctly. I can t recommend the Schaeffer team enough. You will feel safe and secure knowing they are on your team.

Theresa and the group there are fabulous! Use for car crash repairs for last 20+ years. While unfortunate reoccurring customers, they have made the process as easy as possible. Guiding us through car rental and insurance. I have learned they should be my first call, then insurance. Quality work, and I trust them and I don't trust many. Schaeffer not only did a great job repairing my car, but also took care of everything with the other person's insurance company, the rental car company, and kept me updated the whole time. It was the smoothest experience I've had with an insurance claim and car repair.

I have a brand new car with 2200 miles on it and got into my first accident in 40 years. Many auto body shops in the area and I had no clue where to go. Schaeffer's was recommended to me by my cousin. He said they are family owned and have been in the area forever so I gave them a call.Richard helped me all the way. He explained everything from how the parts and colors are matched by the VIN number and what exactly they have to do to fix it to what I have to do next. I got an estimate on a Wednesday, took it in the following Monday and had it back by Thursday. They suggested and called Enterprise to pick me up and drop me off there. They just made this terrible ordeal into a fast and more pleasurable experience.They did an awesome job on my new car. It looks new again. I can't believe how well the color matches you can't even tell it was in an accident. I can tell they washed the inside of my car too. It smells new again. Thank you so much Schaeffer's you've made a customer for life.

I had an older truck (20 years old). I wanted to refresh it, and decided to use Schaeffer instead of getting a budget paint job at the cheap places. I had been there in the past for repair work after people hit our parked car multiple times in one year. Being an older vehicle made it more difficult to find parts, but they were able to get it done. I am happy with the results.

TL:DR- Extremely honest company who does great work for a great price in a short amount of time. Highly recommend.I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I felt I needed to give credit where credit is due. I drove my 2008 Dodge Avenger across the country for work recently. Before returning home, I hit a large chunk of concrete that tore my rear bumper off and left it hanging by a thread (drove the rest of the way with some wonderful looking gaff tape to help it stay on). My knowledge of cars is limited, and I assumed I would have to completely replace the bumper. I looked into the costs of this and was prepared to pay a pretty penny for my boneheaded mistake.Upon arriving at Schaeffer, I even lead with "I'm pretty sure I need to replace my bumper". Any other body shop would have taken advantage of my ignorance and said "you sure do, heres a quote". The gentleman I spoke to told me that it looked pretty bad, but that they might be able to save it, and in turn, save me a bundle of money.I scheduled and appointment and dropped off the car. Just a couple hours later, I get a call that they were able to work some magic and reinforce the brackets so the bumper would hold fast, and strong. Car looks great, and they did the work for a solid price. Saved me hundreds in the long run. Thank you for being real and taking care of me, Schaeffer!

I've got my van fixed there on two different occasions and the workmanship is remarkable. Not only they completed the work on time but also they payed attention to the tiniest details. The office staff was really great and kind. They did all the work for me. All I had to do was drop off the vehicle and pick it up once it was done. I recommend this shop to anyone who needs work done.

Several years ago we brought my husband's 1997 Ford Explorer here to get the roof near the windshield completely repaired due to a serious rust issue. Jim was honest with us about the repair and gave us a very competitive price since we did not have insurance to pay for this. The repair was perfect and the people we recently gave the Explorer to say it is still going strong.A few weeks ago we brought in my husband's new vehicle which had a quarter size ding in the bottom of the door to get repaired. Jim was once again honest with us about the repair, gave us a reasonable price (this was out of our pocket again) and did a very high quality job on the repair.Very thankful we have a quality and reasonable body shop in the area.

Don't even hesitate, take your car to Schaeffer Auto Body. Theresa and her staff will care for you as if you were family. Not only is her experience and expertise glaringly noticeable but the way they were able to set me at ease over my car issues was second to none. I had a car accident and chose to come to Schaeffer for the repairs. Turns out that I never had to have the repairs, as it was totalled.But, I'm writing this review to say thank you to the kind and professional staff at Schaeffer. Theresa, at the front desk, was nothing but helpful, insightful and courteous during my tumultuous and not to mention anxious time.It couldn't have been a more pleasant experience, especially given the circumstances. Brought my car in for repairs after a car accident (I wasn't at fault). Had to bring my car back there again because the repairs they made didnt last 9 months. My back bumper was beginning to loosen up and separate. The mechanic told me my bumper is supposed to wiggle and shake . Only reason I took it there in the first place was my insurance company recommended them and they supposedly guarantee their work for a full year. Yeah right.....never going back there again...ever.

I would give 0 stars if I could. They put a dent in my door and not willing to be considerate. My mistake was I did not notice it in shop. I am pretty sure it was not there before as I know my car. Met with standard response that we can't say that we put it there, it might have happened after you drove it etc. Overall I have had a very bad experience. I would recommend anyone not to go there. I should have gone with the cosmetic collision center which is nearby and looked more professional from the outset.
