Overall excellent service, welcoming and very friendly attitude definitely a customer focused organization, and to top it off, they do good work!The counterman, Luis, is perhaps the friendliest, most knowledgeable and caring individual I have ever had the good fortune of meeting and believe me, I am not exaggerating.Luis for President 2024!I m wondering where I can find one of these bumper stickers.Thank you Pep; thank Y O U Luis!!!Best wishes,Bill

Got scammed by an associate named Dustin. Do your research before coming in this shop! Bought my tires from tire buyer and I was told by Dustin that my tires wouldn t come with a warranty if I didn t get a tire alignment. Comes to find out my tires didn t have a warranty the whole time and I didn t even need the tire alignment at all! Also tried to sign me up from pep boys credit card unknowingly after I asked him several times if it was a credit card he repeatedly told me no. Then when I caught him in the lie he got very defensive and tried to guilt trip me. Hilarious. Be careful what u spend ur money on here.

We bring 3 family vehicles here for servicing, including maintenance and tires. Over the years, we have established trust with Luis Fuentes. He is reliable, thorough, honest, and extremely pleasant every time we come. With every oil change, they do a complete inspection to identify and prevent major issues. I absolutely recommend this Pep Boys for any service your vehicle may need. The manager Luis is excellent, he is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain in detail what service is being performed. There are no attempts to upsale unnecessary services or products. I have had 3 encounters in the past 18 months and have felt very well served

Had Luis mount some tires that I purchased from Priority Tire for my 34 year old Mustang GT convertible. No one in town had much of a selection of 15" tires. Pep Boys is a recommended installer , & they didn't disappoint. Luis checked my power steering fluid, & told me that it needed changing. I did remember that it was pretty nasty last time I checked it, so they flushed the system & filled it with fresh fluid. I can always depend on Luis ,& his team to take care of me for a fair price.

I needed a tire replacement on Christmas Eve and they were available, friendly, and the tire replacement was at a fair price.They also offered me a free inspection without being pushy. The establishment was clean and the music playing while I waited was great ( Bradley Marshall ) Ed Sheeran Jr.

My experience with Dustin and Luis at the Elgin Pep Boys on Summit Street was astounding! They are the most honest and kind mechanics out there. I went in for a brake job and during the pre-inspection they found far more problems than I expected and suggested the repairs were not worth the value of the car. I have a new car and will continue to return for future work. Highly highly recommended!!

Half-service! Before doing the work they are very good with the customer service, after the work is finished and not even having bought the new parts from them the service has no guarantee and they recommend that it is better to take it to the house of the vehicle

Went in for an alignment. Had my drop off at 3pm and when I got there I was told that all the mechanics were going on lunch. This was on a Saturday and they closed at 6, I thought it was strange that all the mechanics were taking their hour lunch so close to closing time but I didn t think anything of it. After I dropped my car off about an hour later, I get a call saying the alignment couldn t be done because my car was missing it s jam nuts and that they couldn t do anything. I picked up my car and took it to the mechanic that replaced some of the parts and he physically showed me the missing jam nuts. Not really sure what to make of this location.

I called 1-1-24 to get my vehicle headlight bulb replaced. For 1 low beam they quoted me $280 with part & labor. They said it would take over an hour. I went to Blains F&F and got 2 low beams done in half an hour for $44 . The person who answered the phone at Pep boys was very nice but their prices were too expensive for me

They had the tires I wanted and they installed them in a very reasonable time. They answered all my questions in a very polite manner. Recommend to all but make sure you get a appointment.

Dustin and Pete were amazing! Called in and the energy and helpfulness exceeded my expectations. Went to Walmart initially since I was right there in the parking lot when my car didn t start and they said it wasn t my battery nor alternator and that it was my starter then went to go and get a second opinion. I usually go to the Pepboys in Schaumburg but moved closer to the Elgin location. Came and checked with the Elgin locations and they checked and came to a conclusion that it was the battery. Faulty cell. They saved me. In and out within an hour. Highly recommend the Elgin Pepboys. They know what they re doing. Thankful.

Camed for inspection and said that doesn't have internet and can't print the paper form and i need to print by my self. Drove home back, printed and back to them..and he said well, we are closing in 12 minutes should come tomorrow. Actually, he didn't have time for a cigarette. By, their site it's showing that they are open till 7pm, i was to them at 5:47pm.

I m here at 5:30pm 11/30/23 waited 10 mins and no one showed up and at 5:40 two guys came from Inside and told me they are close for the day at 5:40 didn t even ask what I m here for. Their closing time is 6pm.. they were taking care of someone but not me seems like racist to me

We were traveling through Illinois and had a tire emergency. The staff at Pep Boys were so fantastic and were able to fit me in as they were closing. I'll forever be grateful for the kindness and help they showed us!

Luis (whom I think is the store manager) and Frank (the mechanic who worked on my car) were both very pleasant to deal with. I've been coming to this shop several times for oil changes and basic maintenance and repairs. Even when busy and a little stressed, they always give amazing customer service and are pretty accurate with their wait times. Always love coming to this location because I feel valued and respected. Luis gives great advice and remember your name and what repairs you've done before. I will keep coming here simply for their extraordinary customer service.

Stopped in for an alignment and was immediately told that online appointments were drop off only and the car wouldn't be ready until 5. No greeting from Frank AT ALL. No, Hello, hi, how are you today, how can I help you. Zero customer service. Then proceeded telling me that an alignment wasn't what I needed after asking me NO questions. I told him what was going on and he said in a condescending way that they need to look at suspension parts which would cost $40. I would have been fine paying for that and whatever else if I felt even remotely welcomed upon my arrival. Just seemed like FRANK didn't feel like working or talking to customers today. So because of Frank and his lack of customer service skills Pep Boys will not be getting any money from me today or in the future.

From the moment I called to set up an appointment, Dustin and Luis listened to my concerns and provided me with all possible options to fix the issue. They were honest and I never felt pressured to commit to a service that was not absolutely necessary. They were committed to helping me stay within my budget. I will definitely be returning to this location for any future needs and highly recommend them to anyone needing service.

I had a tire problem. Took to Pep Boy. They said I had a nail but it was in a place that could not be repaired. They do not carry the tire I need. They were honest and did not charge me for the time. I appreciate the honesty.

my boyfriend recommended i visit pep boys for my oil change and it was a wonderful experience! as a first time customer, and first time ever driving my car to the mechanics by myself, i felt like my car was in the right hands. Luis took the time to explain the process of an oil change to me before I left, and broke down expenses when I came to pick up my car after paying. i received a discount as well! i will be coming back here for sure!

I like coming here. You'll definitely pay for what you get but the old saying goes. Only get what you pay for. Tried local mechanics. Always long, things arnt fix right. Still expensive. Atleast this is more professional and normally there time frame is on to when you'll get your vehicle fixed.

These guys always try to fit you in. They have serviced my car several times (alignment services). I haven't used their other services. Honest assessment, and I hear them helping out customers, while waiting for my car. Quick intake, at your appointment time too, not a lot of waiting for service if you show up on time.

Had a coupon for 15% off "auto maintenance" they told me I couldn't use for an oil change. Why doesn't a 6 month oil change count as auto maintenance? That makes no sense. Claimed they keyed In the coupon code and their system only gave me .69 cents off. I was able to use these same coupons in the past with no issue there, yet this time it magically did not work. Huh. Next time, I'll pass on pepboys and just take my car to the dealer.

Turned me down for free tire balance, refused service unless, I bought new tires from them, computer record keeping not good and not shared in general across all stores, they do not honor warrantees unless you bring in the original paperwork. They however were polite

I went to have a leaking tire repaired. Dustin was very helpful, explaining to me that the tires were 11 years old (yes, I know, I should have replaced them years ago) and that taking the tire off to check it would likely result in more damage. As a result, he walked me through my options for new tires and treated me as if I was family. I very much appreciated his approach and his thoroughness in explaining everything to me.
