Awhile ago I purchased a classic car, a Sunbeam, from this dealership. Now that I see they have another one for sale, I feel the need to warn any prospective buyer to look at the car in person. I did not, but took the dealership's word on it, my bad. The staff was nice and pretty straightforward. Exception being for what they would consider a restored and solid vehicle. To be blunt, the car was a hack job done by a gentleman from Washington state who should never be allowed to work on a vehicle that is being resold to the public. I assume the recent one online is done the same way, as the pics show that the same restoration formula was used. Do not be misled by the restorer's friends and local car club members who applaud his work and comment as such on BringaTrailer, they are just falsely supporting a fellow club member or have very low quality standards. I have been working on and collecting classic cars for decades and know what one can get into on these cars, but I have never been more disappointed in a purchase. I spent many dollars to get the car running well and to be safe to drive, not to mention the body and paint issues. I hope that any prospective buyer of a Sunbeam Tiger from Automall of Effingham reads this review.

I got a 2007 jeep wrangler from there and in less than two months I've had it in the shop 3 times and know it is going to have to go back again bad deal

I recently purchased a new vehicle from the Auto Mall. They had a few of the vehicles that I was interested in. They let me test them all and pick the one that seemed best. Shannon, the person I dealt with was great and straight forward with me. She even lower the price of the vehicle to compensate me for the cost of some new tires that vehicle would soon need. About a month and half after I purchased the vehicle, the A/C stopped working. I gave them a call and the very same day they helped me to get it working again. That is great service! I have debated not posting a review but I just cannot get over how my husband and I were treated at this dealership. We went and looked at a 2006 Chevrolet HHR (the one still on the lot) and we liked the car for the most part. Our experience started out interesting, Shannon had the car ready, and answered my husband's questions about repairs and issues, she stated she had fixed something with the suspension, with no other details. She also seemed agitated I had my husband with me at all. We test drove it and it had a few minor issues the main being it was obviously out of alignment. It also had some cosmetic problems like huge gashes in the paint that have been very sloppily touched up in I'm assuming an effort to bring up the value, however it is very noticeable. However, overall we were willing to continue with the purchase. When we got back to her office my husband asked to see bills from the repairs she made and she was unable to provide anything other than receipts with no details and acted like we were insane when we asked if she had an itemized bill from the mechanic she had used. I have never gone to repair a car and not recieved an itemedized bill but whatever we ignored her oddly defensive response. We were willing to go ahead and offer up to 7,500 for the vehicle (its priced at 7,990 way above the actual value of the car if you do any research). We started negotiations at 7,000 and that is where everything went completely off the rails. Shannon immediately took offense to the offer and extremely rudely gave us the entire history of the dealerships and repeatedly and in the most condescending voice said, " the thing about us is our sticker price is in the window and that's that. Obviously I like the car more than you do." We continued to allow her to make her speech and very nicely thanked her for her time. Overall, she was just disrespectful, and this dealership is not at all willing to negotiate. Please save yourself the waste of time to drive a junk vehicle that has no guarantees of properly running after purchase and a speech from the most disrespectful woman I have ever met and go to another dealership.

Thanks to Shannon at The Auto Mall for helping me trade for a bigger vehicle that I really love.Having issues with my legs, i needed a vehicle that i could get into easier.We completed the deal on a Saturday afternoon and there were no hiccups or issues at all.I've always had good results from them.

We had a great experience at the Automall of Effingham! We are on one income right now as my husband is in school, so any purchase we were making we were not taking lightly. We needed something fuel efficient for him to make a 50-mile commute from our home to school and wanted something well cared for in which we felt comfortable with the Carfax and history. We decided to shop for a Honda Civic which is how we located the vehicle online that led us to Effingham! We are from Lincoln, NE, so we called to get as much information as possible over the phone before making the 8 hour drive to purchase the vehicle. Shannon, within minutes, texted photos and videos of the car, any dents or scratches she noticed, the tire tread, etc. She was able to share some information about the history of the vehicle while keeping the previous owner's information confidential. The financing process was very easy and she explained details that I otherwise would not have known, since I have never needed an auto loan before. We were running late the day of our trip and Shannon stayed a bit after hours for us and still let us take our time to ask questions, test drive the car, etc without making us feel rushed at all. The car was very clean and well-detailed when we arrived. In fact, the entire shop seemed very well kept. We both left feeling really confident in our purchase and feel like we have a well cared for, super clean, low mileage car that will be reliable for many years to come.

I couldn t have asked for a better car-buying experience! The staff was friendly, prompt, informative, and they CARED! I never felt the pressure from salesman like I have at other dealerships.James was personable and made the process so easy, from the test drive to the loan (that he got us a discount for) to preparing all of our documents ahead of time to sign. He went out of his way to make calls for us to make sure we could get the vehicle before a big cross-country move.We drove over an hour to test drive a Subaru and fell in love with it instantly - and the price! They have a great inventory!I HIGHLY recommend purchasing your vehicle from here.

I bought a 2016 regular cab GMC from these guys this summer. The deal was so good I flew out from Minnesota to pick it up, they held the vehicle for me no problem. It couldn't have gone any better

I purchased a car here late last fall. I had been shopping for a classic vw beetle convertible. They happened to have one that had just come in to their inventory. I drove all the way out there from St. Louis just to look at it. Car was in okay shape, nothing to brag about, but I wasn't looking for anything pristine anyway. The odometer was at 39,xxx, they stated it was original miles and the title even reflected that, I had to believe them due to the documentation. I decided to purchase the vehicle, they were asking $13,500, I got them down to $13,000, thought I was getting a good deal because of the low miles. Went back a week later with a truck and trailer to pick it up, in the mean time they sent the vehicle to their mechanic to get it in good sound, safe, running condition. Once I got it home started to drive it from time to time, never ran real good for me. I had done a very short test drive with it prior to purchasing, not enough to identify the problems. Long story shortened up now, after spending several hundred dollars on tune up parts and working on it myself, still not running quite right, decided to take it to a shop for a good once over. $700 later and more replacement parts and the mechanic telling me there is no way the car only has 39.xxx miles on it, it's at least 139,000, I have a good running car. The reason for the low mark in this survey is that I feel I was taken advantage of. The people in Effingham were very nice but I feel I got screwed on the price of the car. These beetles do hold their value, but reading on the internet, the vehicle was definitely not worth what I paid for it in it's current condition. If you shop here, please do your homework on the vehicle your looking at and make sure you look it over good. I have several hundred more dollars to spend on it in years to come to make it a "good" condition vehicle.

I had a great experience with this dealership.James did everything I requested while I was deciding on a classic car. I feel I got a fair price on my 1966 Impala. James arranged the transport which turned out great! The ad for the car was accurate and allowed me to buy sight unscene . Fully recommend!

This place is a joke. We looked at a van and it was a pile of junk. Transmission shifted hard, half of the electronics didn't work, had rust. They overpriced it at 15 k and then said our van was in worse condition even though side by side comparison our van was in much better condition by a mile. Salesman was incompetent. Definitely selling junk so avoid going here.

James and Tessa were very professional and polite!! Having a 2 hr drive to get there and having a mix up on the financing not on their end but ours they went out of their way to accomodate us by giving us an extra day to get things lined out! Today my son got his dream truck and the Automall is going to have a repeat customer for life!! Thanks again!!

Found a decent deal on a truck I was interested in. Wasn't allowed to test drive it unless I was approved for the loan already?! Well, I've been approved for the loan... for a different truck. Congrats on landing a sale for another dealership.

Salesman was very rude and wouldn t let me and my wife test drive the car we went and looked at. It was very disappointing to drive as far as we did to look at the car just to have been treated like that. I will never think about do business with this dealership ever again.

I got a truck here a while ago off the lot the horn stopped working and they didn t do anything about it the day after the check engine light came on and they didn t do anything about it since then it s just been problem after problem

Not even sure they change oil or check fluids in their vehicles don't even have their own shop some other place takes their money like they do ours and. Says ok sell it as is no guarantee im a return customer even and twice I've been not happy
