I ve had a few items repaired at Al s Transmission, including having my transmission rebuilt completely last winter. My vehicle is always well maintained, but heavily driven- with lots of highway miles.Recently, a seal went out unexpectedly and Al chose to replace the seal for free- although the warranty was well beyond the mileage limit.This was not necessary, but a prime example of going above and beyond for the customer. So rare these days! Of course, I will take all future transmission work to Al s.My strong recommendation is to use this shop, if you re looking for high-quality work and interested in excellent customer service- both during and after the sale.

Everyone here were nice, professional, attentive and knowledgeable. I came in with a complaint that I thought was the problem, they assessed the situation and after they inspected my car they found the real problem. After consulting me they were quick to repair and get the car back on the road quickly. I feel they saved me a costly unnecessary repair an unscrupulous mechanic might have charged. My stock clutch went out about a month ago. This shop was VERY helpful finding the perfect competition clutch for my car. Very speedy on getting it fixed and reasonably priced. Couldn t be happier! Would suggest to anyone.

Al is a very honest and hard working man! I went there to get the gremlins out of my transmission, not only did he get the gremlins out, but when it was time for payment, I asked him what I owed, and he told me not to worry about it. Not only did Al do phenomenal work on my transmission, he helped a struggling young man on his own pay his next rent payment. I have nothing but good things to say about he and his business, and I would recommend anyone to go there if they have any sort of trouble with their transmission. Thank you, Al! You seriously helped me keep my (financial) head above water, and my car is driving far smoother than it was. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, you earned 10!Service: Transmission

Took my car in quickly and fixed it quickly. Wasn't expensive and they were awesome at explaining the problem and how they fixed it. I had a great experience with them with my daughter's car too. They came highly recommended by my mechanic. Great company!

I actually chose this business because of the many great reviews. I can tell you first hand they did not disappoint me. We took our vehicle in for a diagnosis. We were given a fair price and then we scheduled an appointment. When we went to pick up our vehicle, we were very happy to find out they were able to take a less expensive route to fix our transmission issue. Our bill was 40% of the original estimate and we are very pleased with the work which was performed. We highly recommend using this business!!!Service: Transmission

Just got my car back from Al's and couldn't be more satisfied! Office staff, technician, and Al were incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. There was no pressure or any indication of impropriety. My car went to Al's in a horrible condition. Al was extremely honest after the assessment about what was, wasn't, and might be wrong with it. He was able to provide a what he thought would be a pretty good guess as to the cost, walk me through the process since it would be a multi-day fix, and helped me talk through the merits of repairing the vehicle VS getting a replacement vehicle. I am not experienced with cars at all and I left the conversation feeling like he wanted to give me the info I needed to make the best decision for me and that he wasn't talking down to me or being deceptive. Once they were able to fully take things apart, the issue wound up being slightly different than what was expected and was 1/3 of the expected cost. The car works better than it did when it was new. Fantastic customer service, excellent repair work, committed staff and owner/s, solid integrity, and fair pricing. Al's exceeded all of my hopes and expectations. Thank you!

I wish Al's did everything. They are friendly and clearly knowledgeable. They explained things in layman's terms and were upfront about delays and helpful in their recommendations. Pricing was entirely reasonable.

After receiving multiple referrals, I called when one of our vehicles was having transmission issues. Worked directly with Al. He did a great job of listening to understand the issues, explaining the options, and offering suggestions. In the end we needed to have the transmission replaced. So far, everything is working great.Zero regrets. Would definitely recommend if you need someone to help you with transmission issues.

Al and Jonathan were the two I dealt with, all I can say is they were top-notch! From my initial call to decide who I wanted to have rebuild my transmission to the communication during and after. If you need any kind of transmission work done, I can t recommend this place highly enough! I d be hard pressed to find a better shop anywhere, and I ve tried.Service: Transmission

I was stranded in Illinois and from Missouri. I just made it to Al's in my vehicle and he took a look at it even though it was about twenty minutes till closing. He informed me that I could save money by going to my dealer due to my warranty and even let me leave my vehicle so I could rent a car and call a tow truck. I am extremely impressed with Al's service and consideration. I have even had very kind conversations with the front desk woman that called to make sure my car was taken care of after it had already been towed. Just Awesome!

On a Friday morning while visiting downtown St. Louis we had a transmission breakdown and were directed to call Al's. He quickly diagnosed the possible issue over the phone and by 1:00 we had the car towed to Al's. That same afternoon he was able to get the parts and fix our vehicle by 5:00 so we could be back in business for the rest of the weekend. We live several hundred miles away thus we had visions of having to rent a car and disrupt our weekend plans. Thanks to Al and staff for your flexibility and great service!

Such a great staff! Brought my car in unsure of the issue and they took the time to discover the cause and fix it in such a timely manner! Jonathan was very helpful at explaining the issue and tested the car after the fix to make sure it ran properly. Recommend anyone having car issues to bring your car there!!

If you tow anything, stop and talk to Al first. That conversation could save you thousands. Al got us back on the road with a new 3 year 100,000 mile GM warranty in about three business days!Al found that our fully loaded SUV didn't have a transmission cooler that should have come with the "tow package." So check your electronic display for transmission temperature... google what happens over 200 degrees, and how many minutes until you buy a new transmission.So...you can wait and spend thousands for Al to get you back on the road? Or have him put a transmission cooler on now for less than a grand....He can only help you fix what you bring to him... and he will do that better and faster than anyone else. Trust his advice and craftsmanship... even if it's a complete replacement because you didn't talk to him sooner.Thanks to everyone at Al's!

After the transmission was going bad in my 2012 Chevy Volt and getting an almost $10k estimate from the dealer, we thought we would need a new car. After falling several places someone recommended Al. Al from the beginning was straight forward and honest. We talked numerous times and came up with a plan to fix our car. Al kept me updated the entire time and all of the staff was helpful. Where most places wanted to avoid working on a hybrid, Al welcomed it because it was his expertise. Upon picking up my car Al even had pictures of the work he did!. My car is back up and running thanks to Al and his staff!

I had my transmission rebuilt by Al's and they did it quickly at a good price. They kept me informed during the rebuild and answered all my questions. Would highly recommend Al's for any transmission issues.

About a year and a half ago, I was having issues with my transmission, and was referred by a friend to Al's. I had my transmission rebuilt, and it runs like new still. My car is quite old, and when I asked Al if he thought it was worth saving, he told me that either saving it or getting rid of it and buying a newer one to avoid issues down the road we're both equally sensible choices. This is how I know you can trust this shop. I've ran into many mechanics who will tell you that you should dump money into your car to "save" it, to get the sale, but Al didn't try to pressure me into getting work done.However, I did choose to get the transmission worked on, and am incredibly satisfied with the quality, speed, and cost of work. This is why if I ever have anyone I know run into transmission issues, I will refer them here.My only complaint would be that they didn't take American Express when I was there, so be aware of that if that's how you intend to pay for your repairs.

Great service from a great team. I feel like Al was upfront and clear about everything which needed to be done on my vehicle's clutch replacement throughout the entire process. He did offer other services, such as full inspection to see if anything was going bad on my transmission which has 184,000 miles on it. He stated he heard some noises which could be normal for a high milage transmission. No pressure to do the inspection, just offered as a service with the pros and cons since they had the transmission out already. He saved all the bad parts which were not in the original quoted repair price, and showed me why each one was bad. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to get transmission work done on their vehicle.

Best place I have ever taken my car. Took my car there after I was told I had a leak that would cost a few hundred dollars to fix. Al took a look at it , did a diagnostic test, and even brought me in the garage while the car was still jacked up to explain to me that it was just water perspiration. After all this he didn't even charge me. I am a repeat customer and will take it to Al even before the dealership. In an industry saturated with people taking advantage of others that know nothing about cars, you can feel at ease if you bring your car to this garage.

Not a great experience they left my window rolled down in the pouring rain had my car towed and the driver said he picked up like that Al said they would check their cameras and call me back and didn t. Now my driver side locks don t work at all. At least you should of done was try to roll the window back upService: TransmissionService: Transmission

My torque converter recently failed on my SUV. I took it to Al's because they are the most highly rated in the area. Al did not disappoint. My vehicle was finished a day ahead of schedule and not only did they do a superior job replacing the torque converter, but also went the extra mile to inspect and replace other sensors and components that other shops would have overlooked, all for the original quoted price. My vehicle runs like new again and I couldn't be happier. Al's has gained yet another lifelong customer.

Fast, dependable, and honest. I had to have my trucks transmission fixed. Al found the problem and had it back to me in just a couple of days. It is running great! I had to go back to get a part for my wife's car a few days later. I spent the day trying to find the part, then went to Al's and he had it in my hands later that day. I highly recommend Al's and will go back for any future needs.

I took my Ford 150 there on a referral from a mechanics advice. I was thinking the worst of what they might find and how much it may cost me. When I got there I was treated with good customer service and fairness and honestly. I could have been taken advantage of easily. But Al was friendly and quickly put my fears to rest. If anyone is having transmission trouble I would refer them to AL Transmission. I'm from St. Louis Missouri. It's worth the time.

Al's Transmission Inc. simply the best. Al's replaced my clutch in my 03 Subaru. He was exactly what I was looking for, an honest mechanic. Great price, great service, and quality work. I would recommend him to friends, family, and even my own mother. Grade A, don't waste your time anywhere else. Go to Al's!
