Weddle Performance Engines did an excellent job on my 1998 Chevy truck engine went from a Chevy small block 350 with rod knock to a 383 stroker and it looks like a piece of artwork under the hood he uses excellent quality parts Jeff and his team are easy to talk.

I went to this shop for years as mullvain's, and Jeff has continued the tradition of top notch work. Jeff and team have done all the machine work for my lsx, and though prices have increased over the years the price is still reasonable for the time it takes to do machine work/balancing/etc. As with any custom work sometimes things take longer, but still very happy with the value and quality for my build.

This is Archie and they did a great job on dyno tuning my 421sbc. They did a great job and got it set on kill mode. They also installed the motor for me in my 85 Monte Carlo with no leaks and no problems. I highly recommend them if you want your motor tuned to its max performance and capabilities.ThanksService: Auto engine tuning

The owner seems like a well-meaning guy who is working out the kinks of running a business profitably. Their work is good, the shop is clean, but the final cost came out to be almost 3 Times what we talked about (with no unforseen issues) and I'm extremely disappointed about that. Background:Jeff bought the small business about 18 months ago, changing the name from Mullvain to Weddle Performance. Mullvain, whose first name I forget, still works there but was looking to phase out and retire so the reigns went to Jeff. This place has been around a while, despite the handoff, and seemed to carry a lot of expertise. My Experience:I had them clean, inspect (disassemble and reassemble), and resurface my 32v Ford C-Heads. They also put in 2 spark plugs inserts. Initially the verbal estimate, which we went through carefully when I dropped the heads off, was $400-$450, plus an additional $450 if inspection revealed that they needed a valve job, which they didn't. I assumed it the total would be a bit more with shop fees, maybe $500, but that was acceptable. That's the going rate for head work in Illinois at the moment. After some slight delays that weren't much in their control, my final tab was a little above $1050. There's also a 3.5% credit card fee, which I wasn't told about until pickup time, so I left and went to the bank to get cash to save the $35 surcharge.Anyway, after getting the call from Jeff this week that the cost would be over $700 more than expected, I called 2 other shops in the area and 2 out of town for estimates on this job and they all came back with a $400-600 total. One respectable Mustang shop in Detroit quoted $1200 for full out decking and porting, including shipping.Unfortunately this information did not sway Jeff in his new pricing and, at the time I was told the final price, they already had my heads disassembled and cleaned (apparently over $400 of sunk cost if I wanted to stop there), so I did not have much power to take my business elsewhere. One positive note, I do appreciate the guys working a couple hours of overtime to get me the heads back with only minor delay after some parts arrived damaged. Credit to them.Bottom Line:I would recommend this shop only if you're not sensitive to cost at all. For me, I would not have gotten my small job done here if I knew it would cost anywhere near the final price, but if maybe you're looking to make 1000hp out of your LS1 no matter the cost, I'm sure they can make it happen.Service: Motor building

We had horrible experience with Weddle Performance Engines. I highly recommend not going her for anything. The service is absolutely horrible. The owner does not know how to run a business properly. He over charges everything, you are better off spending money in gas to go somewhere else to get engine work done. The owner does NOT give you a quote before working on your engine. It is a shame that we learned the hard way and had to pull our motor out. If you want to get your stuff worked on here, expect to wait about SIX MONTHS to get your motor done.Service: Engine repair

Mike Mullvain and his crew did a great job with the rebuild of my 360 Mopar motor. I had them machine, reassemble, break in and dyno the engine. World class work all the way. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in designing my rebuild. The engine performed better than I expected. Ran strong! First class operation! Highly recommend their business.

Jeff honored the agreement with the previous owner which delighted me. Dyno went well and he stayed after hours to help me load out. I ll definitely give him a shot at my next engine.Services: Motor building, Computer diagnosticsServices: Motor building, Computer diagnostics

Best darn engine shop in central Illinois. My most recent experience with Weddle Performance Engines was during the pandemic in mid 2021. They gave me an estimate and a date when the engine would be complete. They hit both on the nose. When " issues" come up, they called and offer to show me first the issue, offered a couple solutions and got approval of how I wished to proceed.Customers can actually see the machining, flow bench Crankshaf, Dyno etc in action. They are a real first class organization.I had 3 numbers matching 1965 GTO engines and a 67 Firebird 400 engine completely rebuild there. Decks surfaced, bored, balanced, complete head rebuild including flow testing as well as carburetor rebuilt. Heads / cylinders "cc". In each rebuild the Dyno test shows the actually horsepower, which was in the range of the advertised horsepower. Even did some Metal stitching to preserve the numbers matching block on one of the engines. They can do any engine. They have the tools, including a torques wrench verification tool to certify the torque wrenches are accurate, block, head, cam machining equipment, flow bench, and an experienced work force. They build and Dyno test engines up to 2000 lb ft of torque.Racing engines of any type as well as stock engines are totally rebuilt right here in Central IllinoisThey can also do maintenance on vehicles as they have a car hoist.Yes, I will return.Services: Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Motor building, Vehicle maintenance

Always helpful and knowledgeable. Can build pretty much anything. Expect a wait to get the motor done, they are always busy which is no doubt good for them.
