I had called yesterday with an issue I ve been having for a month or so. They were super busy but managed to squeeze me in this morning. I came in a little later than we had discussed but they saw me near immediately! I was so surprised and grateful. They fixed it under 5 minutes and had me on my way! Ive been driving on it and my car sounds GREAT! I ve never had a shop experience where they didn t try to up sell me or tell me about 10,000 other things that needed to be replaced. They were SO nice, honest, and exactly what you d expect from a reliable small company opposed to a huge corporation! I seriously felt like I was in good hands from the jump. It also didn t hurt that I found them from SO many people telling me they were honest and reliable. I ve never had a go to mechanic but I will trust them with everything from now on!Thank you Dave and everyone else!

I've trusted Beard Auto for 5 years now with my car, after being recommended to them when I moved to Illinois by family who have gone there for decades. Dave and the team are the most thorough, trustworthy, accommodating, and kindest people you'd want working on your vehicle - they always explain clearly what the problem is and what the best options are, and will tell me if I don't need something done, even if I've asked them to do it. Their prices are always fair, and while you might be able to find someplace to do a cheaper job, having an honest and reliable mechanic is worth it to me knowing I can drive safely and without worry.

This is the only place I go for auto repairs and maintenance. I ve been taken advantage of in the past by other shops, but once I found Beard Auto, I ll never go anywhere else again. Trustworthy and genuinely want to fix your vehicle at a reasonable price. My car wouldn t start so I figured it was the old battery. I put a new battery in and that didn t resolve the problem. I called Beard and Dave answered the phone. I explained the problem and he said in a calming and kind voice, Call Action Towing and bring it over here anytime, I ll put you in the schedule. Don t worry, we ll figure it out. He just makes you feel like you re in the right hands. It was late afternoon when I finally got it towed and too late for them to start figuring it out. I get a call from Dave the next afternoon and it s all finished! It was the starter. I m so happy I found this place.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Beard has been our go-to mechanic for over a decade. They give us honest feedback on the health/longevity of our vehicles - which was evident the time they suggested it was time to buy a new truck, even though by us getting rid of that old truck meant they weren't going to get to make thousands of dollars in repairs to it. I was blown away by their honesty.

Dave and all the associates were extremely kind and they gave a transparent and honest price quote for work that had to be done on my vehicle. Been working on cars my whole life and finally ran into a problem I couldn t find, first time ever! Heard Beard was good and honest. That s all you can ask for and I wasn t disappointed this place is the real deal! They found the problem and fixed it at a reasonable price and had a good laugh at what it was. This was a long time ago but just had a friend ask where to get his car repaired and this is the only place I would recommend.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

They get a 5 star rating as I'm from Wisconsin and my F150 broke down in Dowers Grove. Couldn't find anyone to help me until I called Beard. They told me get it here and will take care of u. They did. Had me back on the road again in no time. They are Wonderful. Thank u so much you guys are the Best!!!!!! Highly recommend this repair shop.Jay

From the moment of my breakdown I was treated kindly and professionally the entire way through the process. My 2010 Honda Accord had a broken driver side cv shaft . They installed the part the first day the reopened Monday and assisted with my travel needs. I could not of possibly experienced better service. You will be hard-pressed to find a more honest, reasonable, and experienced auto care business. I have had them do all sorts of things on my vehicles from the simple to the more-involved. They always seem to do repairs with your best interests in mind. Have become my go to place for all cars. They have suggested a cheaper alternative for a seat repair since they don t do high volume . Saved me money, and then in every other repair they are competitive or cheaper, responsive and friendly. Beard auto repair is a phenomenal auto repair place. Scheduling is extremely easy, with a quick phone call you will have your appointment scheduled. They have a convienient key drop so you can leave your car there for the next day even after they are closed. I had them run a test of the AC system to find any issues that were causing it to not blow cool air. Luckily it just needed a freon recharge, and they put in a UV dye to identify leaks if it runs out quickly in the future. After the servicing was done, they were very upfront about what they did, how much it would cost, and the receipt was very detailed into where the money went. They are very quick, knowledgeable and polite folk, and I can definetely recommend coming here for automotive repair services.

I've known Beard due to Downers Grove Radiator and his dad's place in Lisle.So its been years, of knowing him.I've sent my in-laws to him for their car work and have always treated them like family which goes a long way with the theives that seem to be around every corner.Honest work, good prices and not a den of thieves like some shops that have come and gone in the area.

Nice, honest, and professional customer service! I went to double check my cars diagnosis I got from another shop and they were able to reassure me I could drive my car safely without having to throw over a thousand dollars at a part that wasn't displaying symptoms that it had gone bad (and wasn't bad).I would recommend them to anyone who wants an honest diagnosis.

I have a 2005 Ford F-150. It was making transmission problems so I thought. I took the truck to the Ford dealership and was told that I would need a new transmission. Or, on the cheaper note maybe just rebuilt. A friend of mine turned me on to beard. I thought what the heck. I'll give him a try. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and spectacular. I would highly recommend them. The whole fix was nothing more than a fuel injector that had went bad. I got it replaced along with a tune up for a really fair price and about 1/3 of the cost from what the Ford dealership wanted to charge me. I recommend this place to all of the area and Beyond.

Recently had Beard repair our 11 year old truck. The power steering line had rusted through and needed to be replaced. Not only did Beard repair the line for a price that was less than we had expected, (after checking out the possible costs online), they also got it back to us sooner than we were originally told knowing how much we needed to be able to use it.Nobody is perfect but over the years they have always made every effort to help us out and we appreciate they're help..

Gene is awesome! Great guys doing great work at a fair and reasonable price. These guys have become my new mechanics for my older model vehicle...I was really impressed with their neighborhood feel yet their top industry automotive knowledge. You wont catch me at another Firestone or Jiffy Lube...these guys are my mechanics for as long as they are in business!

I have only been in town for a couple of months, and I noticed that the parking lot is always full at this location, and I took it as a good sign. Anyway, I went in and set up an appointment (it wasn't urgent work). I had a bolt that I had stripped horribly, and needed new rotors put on. I figured it would take quite a while just to get the bolt out, but 30 minutes after I got there, they were handing me back my keys, all repairs done, at a very reasonable price. It is safe to say that I have found the only shop that I will use while I am here. I am going back for tires next week sometime, and plan to set up an oil change while I am there. Try this place out, you will not regret it!

I go to Beard Auto Repair to tune-up or fix my old car. I get good service. So I keep going back. I trust their work. I can get estimates first if it needs a lot of repair work.
