Absolutely horrible wouldn t ever go back again. I go there for a simple fix and yet don t even follow what I want then still make me pay for it even though I didn t want that work done how they did it. Never going again. Not worth it one bit! Don t waist your time!!!! Don t waist your money simple as that and you will be happier!

Came in to fix something, told me it was exhaust leaks and my exhaust was touching the underneath of my truck, however when I paid and left it was making the same noise. I took it back right away and they said they d work on it again, but I had somewhere to be and asked if I was good to drive like this and they said yes. Not even 4 min away my driveshaft comes off and it turned out to be my u joint. I towed it back to them and they fixed it and not even like 10 miles on that u joint, it fails again. BUT this time my transfer case literally split in half because the u joint failed which causes the driveshaft to lock up and it was too much pressure on the transfer case. I m trying to contact the owner, but their info is nowhere to be found. I called another Velasquez shop and they were kind enough to leave a detailed messages to the owner and now I m waiting. They just called to tow my vehicle off their lot and they said the owner said it, but I will not unless the owner calls me and tells me personally to tow my truck off their lot. Faulty repairs led to maybe thousands of damage.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

They made an error and burnt a hole in my gas tank, they called right away and admitted their mistake Great! It took a month for insurance to get ahold of them to do the repair. When everything got situated and the insurance check was sent they decided they were no longer doing the work and didn't tell us! We found out after 2 weeks of trying to get in touch with them that they aren't doing the work!UPDATE: When taken to the new mechanic we found out they had not only burnt my gas tank but caught the underneath and inside of my van on fire! Then proceeded to use my babies strollers to cover the burns.

Love this place as they do exceptional work for great prices. I will always go here to have my vehicle fixed however, they change recetionists every few months.

Never ever again. Run away as fast as you can. I went in to get simple straps put on my gas tank because the original ones were rusted out. They told me the cost so when I came back to pick it up they upped the price 3 times. I get a sense of racism. Never will I make that mistake again.

The positive of my experience is they got me in right away for brakes and rotors, and as far as I can tell did good work.The negative is that they gouge you on labor. There is no universe where brake pads and rotors should take more than an hour and cost $340 in labor alone. Furthermore, they do not accept the promotions indicated on their website unless you bring them in printed. A little scammy. But oh well. They did good work.Service: Brakes

Can I say amazing? First of all Angie is awesome! The first line of defense is the one that really paints the picture for how your experience is going to be. Both times she has been so understanding with me having to be able to just drop my car and go during this covid pandemic. We have had two cars taken care of by them.The guys are very reliable and I trust them they check what's up with my car I kind of know what's wrong but they confirm it. They do a great job in less time than other places.I kind of am reluctant to even review because I love them so much and I don't want too many people to go to them because one day is going to be a long line if everybody knew how good they are but they are so wonderful! They deserve the recognition! You are blessed, never stressed with Angie and the guys at Velazquez & Sons!Thank you for helping me get in and out the same day. She sure made me feel comfortable at about asking her 20 questions of which 10 were really my husband's. And this is one satisfied customer thank you Angie and guys! Don't know nothing about cars really.I'd charge them with negligence auto abuse if I could.I don't take my cars to mechanics because I'm an engineer with lots of tools. But I referred 2 people to them and they both came back to me with their original problems and worse. They used impact for oil drain plug and caused a $1000 repair because they stripped the bolt. Don't be fooled by a sign and mechanic outfits, no one is regulating auto repair shops in Illinois. They're not required to have any certification or training, find a great mechanic and stick to them.

Brought in my focus because another shop had told me I needed front and rear brakes and quoted me close to a grand. They informed me my back brakes still had over 50% of their life and did the front ones in less than a day for a far more reasonable price.

Originally came in with the plans to replace my catalytic converters and muffler. They assured me that the last shop who did the estimate was wrong. They said the rattle and exhaust leak would be fixed by removing the old clamps and welding in two two pieces of stainless steel pipe. $160 later my truck sounds like new! Honest and quality work!!

Poor customer service from the assistant, I came in for a oil change and they quoted me 25 minutes and I waited over an hour. Turns out they let other walk-ins who just came go in front of me, I wasn't the only one in the store that had this happen to them. If you decide to come here expect to wait way longer than you were expecting. In the end I decided to go to a different auto shop.

They had our car towed from their lot and never bothered to call in order to warn us ahead of time or afterwards to let us know. We didn t find out until we went to the place in order to have it towed from their lot ourselves. On top of that they first tried to lie to our faces and say that the car was never there! It wasn t until I argued with certainty that they admitted it had been there and what they had done to it. Now we re facing daily storage fees for all the time that it has been towed that we had no idea about

*CONSUMER BEWARE* DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE WORK PERFORMED*I would give this place 0 Stars if it were possible. They honestly should not be in business, or at least not allowed to do any safety-sensitive work on vehicles.My girlfriend went here to get her brake lines replaced, and after going to change her brakes at a later date I saw that they did not even remove the old brake lines. They put the new brake lines up with a couple of zip ties outside of the Guard that the brake lines are supposed to be inside so if the car bottoms out on something it does not cut the brake lines. On top of this they did not even zip tie the brake lines up in the middle so the brand new brake lines are hanging just a few inches above the ground below the car.This is not only hugely unprofessional work, this is incredibly dangerous. Having both brake lines hang just above the ground below the car puts them at a huge risk for being severed if the car hits a pothole or speed bump that is too high. This means that if that happens the car would lose all braking ability immediately, and most likely end up in a severe accident.I have pictures that I wish I could post but Google reviews will not let you post pictures unfortunately. If you care at all for your safety do not take your vehicle here, and if you care about your friends and family do not send them to this hack shop. That's the kind of work that will get someone killed, or at best get you into an accident. The insult to injury is the fact that it was not a cheap job either, hundreds of dollars were paid to get those brake lines replaced.Please do not go here for any job or repair on your vehicle that is safety-sensitive.

Fantastic service!! Incredibly kind and considerate, explained the issues on my car very well. The muffler had broken in two spots, one along the bottom of my car, the other near the back right wheel tire. I only decided to fix the break under the car, but they welded a temp fix on the hole in my muffler near the wheel as well (without my having to ask and without charging me-- how awesomely kind is that?!). While I was there, I asked to have my oil changed (it was time), and they did a marvelous job. ALL of this took less than an hour, and cost me less than $100.Quite literally a non-car savvy busy college student's dream. Usually I dread having to get work done on my car. I look forward to visiting Velasquez Mufflers again. 5 stars all the way

Walked in and asked what a good time would be for them to take a look at my truck. The receptionist gave me a dirty look and said "Can't you see we're busy"I left and will not be back. Horrible customer service.

Highly recommend! Excellent service! I would suggest asking for Reynaldo to be your mechanic. He always changes my oil! He checks the fluids in my car, provides excellent service, and is very clean!

Brought my son s car in for a $300 repair about a month ago. Now we have new check engine lights coming on. Finally got it to our regular mechanic. Over a $1,000 worth of damage by Valasquez. When we picked up the car they accused us of breaking things and didn t even tell us about two other parts they broke. Don t let these people change your windshield wipers!!!!

Went in for an oil change, alignment, and tire rotation. Seemed fine until I got my car up to 75 mph, then the wheels seemed wobbly. Sometimes cheaper cost means less reliable, and lesser quality service. Getting it fixed at NTB here in Dekalb

Great service and the receptionist is so friendly. They let me take in car parts that I needed for my car to get fixed and fixed my car with no problem!
