I went to the Go to Guys based on their internet reviews.Brian, the owner and chief mechanic is an excellent mechanic. He treated the car like it was his own. Outstanding work and a very fair price. The car is a 2004 Toyota Camry with very low miles but need a lot of maintenance work along with an electrical problem and a hole in the exhaust system. He gave me an estimate and said it would take 4 days. He delivered on both using top quality parts. I then took the car and drove from Crystal Lake, IL to Orlando, FL. There were no problems at all with the car and it purred along at 70 mph for 2 and a half days. Thank you Brian for a job well done!!!!Services: Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Engine repair, Brake service & repair, Battery, Oil change

Brian was amazing! I had serious engine troubles on my Chevy Cruze and was nervous about taking it to a mechanic because I had been quoted thousands at the dealership to fix my car. I found the go to guys on google and read the reviews and decided to give them a try and I m SO glad I did! Brian was honest, he listened to all of my concerns, he kept me informed throughout the repairs and called me to ask if I was okay with what he wanted to do and how much it would cost, he was quick, and he was so affordable! All in all best mechanic experience I ve ever had and my car runs like new! Definitely my new go to guy!

This is far and away the best auto repair shop I have ever dealt with in my life! Brian is fantastic! I never met him because of my work schedule so I would drop my car off and pick it up after hours. We would communicate by calls/texts. He is extremely knowledgeable and acts and gives recommendations in a way as if it were his car. He goes above and beyond - he looked up recall information on my car, then found out what factory and when my car was assembled to see how it would be impacted by a recall. In short, he didn t want to do work on the car and charge me if I could get it done via recall and have it done for free. In the end, he wanted me to follow up with him to see how it went. I ve never had any auto repair professional want me to follow up with them after taking the car somewhere else just to verify what they thought. If you have any trust issues with mechanics, take your car here. Brian will definitely earn your trust.

I was referred to The Go-To Guys by a current customer, and they came with a glowing recommendation. After my experience with them, it's easy to see why!My Check Engine light came on in my '06 Elantra. Brian took one look at it and said, "Yeah, it's probably X, so I'm just going to reset the light and you let me know if it comes back on." He did not charge me for looking at it or diagnosing the problem.When the light did come back on, he was quick to get me a quote and let me know exactly what was wrong, how much it would be to fix and when I could expect to have my car back. He didn't immediately hand me a bill or talk down to me like I've had happen at the dealership. He fixed me up and got me back on the road.When the light came on a few months later for an unrelated reason, it was a no-brainer to take my car back to TGTG, especially because they're conveniently along Rt 176 behind the recycling center. I was in and out in a matter of minutes, and picked my car up the same day.I've heard that TGTG can be busy at times, because they have just a few employees and they're pretty clearly VERY good at what they do. I'll wait the extra few hours or days before I go back to any dealership, because TGTG have what it takes to keep customers around. Thanks, guys!

I went to the go to guys after I had trouble with another shop, it was a fast turn around to get my car back running. No upcharges, fair labor rates, and trustworthy people just an all around a good experience.
