Needed new brakes all around on my 2018 KIA Soul. I called Jack (the owner) and he told me he had all the parts in stock and told me I could bring in the car the next Day. He also told me exactly how much it would cost which came in lower than another place that had given me an estimate by nearly $300.00. Brought the car in this afternoon. Jack told me the work could be completed today! They took my car in immediately and went to work. The waiting room was spacious and comfortable with two computers customers could use and a room with several working pinball machines (which were FREE). Was there maybe 3 hours and it didn't seem that long.The work was completed at the price that was quoted- no surprises. My experience at JAX was positive. Honesty and Integrity was what I saw. I will be a repeat customer in the future!

First time customer. Very professional and what a great experience. Couldn't believe there were pinball machines in the large waiting area. I've been in the Automotive Service Industry for 40 yrs so I know what to look for and how a shop should operate. I only had the oil changed , but when I need other service , you guys are my first call. Looking forward to a long and happy relationship.

Jack and his crew were very diligent in fixing my son s heap of a sixteen year old s first car. Before Jax the car was uncomfortably and slightly sketchy to drive. After Jax s crew did their thing on it, it s completely different and a lot of fun to drive! Thanks for the great job!

Great people. Friendly and professional. The helped get my F150 running, new water pump same day as I had my other car out of town. Excellent quality too! I have my Yukon in right now for some maintenance as well.

Jax is the only place I will take my car. I know I can rely on Jack to be completely honest and do quality work. His prices are very reasonable too. I drive 45 minutes just to take my car to him because I do not trust anyone else.

I've been taking both of my vehicles to Jax since I moved to the area 5 years ago. Jack is friendly, knowledgeable, extremely helpful and most importantly, honest. I would highly recommend bringing your car to Jax!

Very friendly yet professional service. They worked hard not only to repair my older car but to do it an affordable price . Tried them for the first time recently and they will now be my "go to guy" for car repairs. Have since referred others to them .

Love having JAX at my back. Always gracious about little stuff and experts at big stuff. And once, when my battery ran out, and the AAA guy said that I needed a new alternator, I took the car to Jax, and they said no, that it was just a Honda quirk. Nothing wrong with my car, no charge. Loved that.

Broke down on RT 31, able to limp into parking lot as my car lost all throttle. Left car and dropped key in box. Jack promptly repaired next day- good as new! Great service and communication. Been driving by this place daily for several months and always been looking at it because my dog is named JAX!! Thanks Jack.

I recently had an unfortunate experience at jax auto repair.they provided a quote that was significantly higher than I felt comfortable paying which wouldn't have led to this review. but when I declined their services, the owner seemed visibly upset and� owner took it up on himself to hold the car hostage, insisting it was unsafe to drive, he was forcing me to call a tow truck even though I clarified multiple times that I wouldn't be driving off the lot and i would be pushing in next door.only changed his tune when the police had to intervene, instructing him to release my car.I will say they did get the last laugh by tightening up the bolts on the caliper so tight that I was only able to get them off with bolt extractors. so well played because they were definitely hard to get offBased on the reviews I hope this is just a once off experience and doesn't happen to anyone else.But for any future customer keep in mind, mechanics can't hold your car. if they explain to you the risks and what's wrong with it, it's up to you to make that decision to leave and when they try to force you into doing work you don't want in the guise of saftey, then you should think twice before doing business with themOverall, a disappointing and frustrating experience that left me questioning the ethics and professionalism of this establishment.Oil changes are a pretty good price here I will say

I had the valve core in a TPMS sensor fail while on a road trip from the west coast. I came in first thing in the morning without an appointment, and asked if they could fit me in.Not only did they have the problem repaired quickly, the price for the part and the charge for labor were both very reasonable.I would definitely be a regular customer if I was a local. Other reviews helped point me to this place, so if you re looking like I was, here s one more five star review to help make up your mind.Thanks!

I've had work done here on a few different vehicles over the past 5 years. Jack always gives the best price around and has great turn around time too. Even took me back to work after I dropped my car off one time. If your looking for a trustworthy shop, JAX is the place.

EVERYONE who takes their vehicle to a "Big Name" dealership needs to READ THIS FIRST. JAX Auto & Tire is the ABSOLUTE best shop in McHenry County for both QUALITY work and COST. They literally SAVED ME THOUSANDS of dollars in repair costs. JAX has ALL OF MY BUSINESS moving forward!

Just moved out to this area a year ago. Happy I found Jax Auto. Good service and very accommodating. When I found. out my car was going to take longer than expected, one of the mechanics drove me home. Saved me the cost of an Uber! Driving from Toronto to Peoria I experienced a cracked radiator hemeraging coolant. The gentlemen at Jax Auto made sure I did not lose a day of my travels and had the van fixed up within the day and on my way. Very greatful.

They were very reasonably priced, super friendly and reliable. Other than not calling me back when they said (I know they were very busy that day) they had my tires done by the time promised. Wouldn t trust these guys .. called to have my car inspected and they said it had to be dropped off and couldn t wait there hmmmm I really wonder why ?
