Jessica L my estimator was incredible! Kept informed, understood exactly what was asking for when insurance wasn t going to cover the cost of repair and really went above and beyond for me! She and a repair tech even stayed after hours to ensure everything was perfect. Tiffany always answered the phone quickly and was also a great help. I swear my car looks better than it did before it was in an accident! Please take your car here for any applicable needs and show this amazing team some love. Thank you!!!!

I ve been using Jack Wagner from Gerber Glass for 13 years. He sent me to gerber collision in Crystal Lake and I couldn t be more pleased with the whole experience. My car looks brand new and Jessica was very friendly and knowledgeable. 10

If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would!! They had our vehicle 5 months!!!! We had it back for less than 24 hours and I can t believe it ever left their shop. The list of issues is endless when we call we get no answers on a game plan we ve reached out to corporate and no response they said there is a new manager named Nick and he can t even give a timeframe as to when they can start to address the issues. This is our daily driver! My vehicle has to be torn back apart and who knows how long we will have to wait at this point. Upon taking the vehicle back we were told oh yea sorry the technician who worked on your vehicle no longer works here he was a hot shot know it all and you couldn t tell him a thing because he knows it all. I would NEVER recommend this place.

The staff was friendly and kept in the know during the entire process. My vehicle ended up needing over $15k in repairs and they still completed the job early for me! I can t thank the entire staff enough for their hard work and putting in the overtime. If you want quality, communication, and beyond excellent customer service this is the place for you! I took my vehicle to this location for paint work and a front end repair. Their work far exceeded my expectations! They are all super friendly and helpful. They fixed a broken side panel for free and returned my vehicle vacuumed and clean. They are great at communicating as well. The visible repairs were done so poorly that I had to return to have a new bumper put on. Visually I cannot believe that it was allowed to leave the shop. The bumper was crooked and bowed when viewed from the rear and each end was flared out significantly from the rear quarters. One side was lower than the other. Repairs that I asked about several times to insure that they were done, were not completed at pickup. They were not able to verify that the trailer lights were wired correctly and didn't even have a tester to verify that the wiring was done correctly. I was told that I could bring it home and hook up my trailer to verify it was working and bring it back if it didn't work. 1000's of Dollars for the repair and they used a reconditioned bumper that was warped. Even after expressing my concerns about the poor quality of the original work and work that was left undone, I returned to have the bumper replaced (finally with a new bumper) and my vehicle still left the shop with incomplete work.I felt extremely disrespected by staff when asking about getting my repairs done. Being asked to bring my vehicle home and test their electrical work and bring it back if it didn't work is ridiculous!! One person even asked me "Did this even happen in the accident?" RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL.Rob couldn't seem less interested in my customer satisfaction. We got paid, move on to the next repair.When I first picked up the truck, they had NOT removed the tailgate. I had asked several times at drop-off and on the phone to be sure it was removed and working. A couple tech's came out to look and bring it back to the shop, they said it was rusted. They put some WD-40 on it and sent me on my way (had to go to work). I was able to inspect it later and provided a picture of the broken cap (plastic - not rusted) that was smashed and preventing the tailgate from being removed. They said they ordered the part and it would be fixed. Then I got the call that the insurance company refused that as part of the accident (suspicious). At this point I was too frustrated to continue. Just put the new bumper on, and I will fix the rest.They didn't even tape the wiring harness to the new trailer light connection, leaving the wires and connections exposed.There seems to be little to no money in doing quality work. Rush the work through, hit the big ticket items and hope that the rest of the work doesn't get inspected.Services: Painting, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical

I've been going there for decades. Both in Crystal Lake and other locations.They're always nice, helpful, and quick. The repairs are always problem free.I would definitely recommend them!

What a great experience! No one wants something bad to happen to their car. Gerber not only fixed our car, but did all the communication with my insurance company, worked with my schedule and returned my car better than before it was broken. Special kudos to Tara who helped us understand and interpret between departments. If I have needs in the future, I will be going back to Gerber.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They only fixed a portion of the damage and while I was on the phone with my insurance, I heard their estimator (Jessica) tell my insurance they shouldn t approve the rest. My car looks worse than when I took it in there. The manager was also extremely rude. I will never take my car to this place again and you shouldn t either. Save yourself some stress and go somewhere else.

Gerber did a great job with my repair and their partnership with insurance made everything super easy including the car rental. There was a mistake made they resolved at their expense and the missing start is because I had to follow up with them twice rather than calling me when parts came in. I think this is because they are busy as business is good! I would take my car back if needed for sure. They were very professional and courteous at all times.

From the receptionist and Amy to the team that repaired my vehicle they were outstanding. Amy was the person that handled it for me. She kept me informed all the way through. More than I expected. If I ever have to work with Gerber Collision & Glass again I will never return to the Crystal Lake, IL location. When I brought my car in for an estimate, Amy K was the adjuster who was handling this, I informed her that not only did the physical body of my car get damaged, but also some mechanical issues, she refused to write down the mechanical issues because she said "Well if I can see them then I can't write them down" and that her mechanic would have to diagnose them, so how would the mechanic know of any issues if you don't write them down. When my husband dropped off the car, he verified again with a women about the additional mechanic issues and the women had no idea what we were talking about because Amy couldn't write them down and he had to go over them all again. When I received a phone call letting me know my car was ready for pick up I asked if they had also fixed the mechanical issues and once again the women said I wasn't aware of any issues, so this was the 3rd time I had to explain what was going on. Finally, 12 days of Gerber having my car it was "ready", I went to pick it up and again asked about the mechanical issues, I was told that they "fixed them as a courtesy" by the receptionists, then Amy came out to finalize everything and when I brought up the mechanical issues she said we never heard or saw anything wrong, and if by chance they magically resume to take it to a dealer mechanic to fix, so the receptionist lied saying they were fixed and Amy also lied because the moment we took our car the mechanical sound was immediate, so I guess everyone at Gerber is deaf. I have never dealt with so many incompetent people. Thanks for not doing your job, one job to take notes and relay it to the mechanic and fix the car.Services: Painting, General repairs & maintenance, Body & Trim

Jason Harvey has assisted me on two separate occasions and has been phenomenal; he s very professional while making you feel cared for and a priority. He knows his job and does it extremely well and efficiently. I would give Gerber my business just based on his service alone. Had a small dent at the passenger rear panel above the wheel. Gerber schedule repair a week after inspection. They told me it would take a week to repair. Cool. I dropped the car off and 2 days later they told me it would take two weeks to complete the repair. I got the car back two weeks later and the dent was still there just painted over. There were bubbles in the paint, tiny spots where there was no paint and one spot where debris cratered the clear coat. I could not accept the repair as is. They had the car for another week and fixed it. During the first two weeks Gerber had the car they notified me the my wheel alignment was off at the passenger front wheel (not associated with accident) so they could not get the alignment perfect and therefore could not calibrate the safety system. Gerber said they had two shops do an alignment and both confirmed the front wheel needed a new strut and knuckle. They also said I needed a new battery. Prior to dropping the off I did not have any issues with starting or warning lights so I questioned the new battery need. Gerber did replace the battery at no cost to me. I thank them for that. I took the car to my mechanic and had it checked out. My guy checked the alignment and none of the wheels were aligned. I did pay for a new nut knuckle and alignment but the strut was fine. I took the car back to Gerber to get the final thing done, Safety System Calibration. They sent the car ( A Honda Accord) to the Buick dealer to have it calibrated. The Buick dealer broke the radar cover in the front grill. The computer dash display no longer had the image of an accord showing when getting close to an object at the four corners of my car. Instead there was a warnings that I ve never experienced before different. I called Gerber a week after they broke my radar system cover to ask if the part was available to install they said OH yeah we were just going to call you . A tech installed the cover as I watched. Four attempts later it s on. Two days later my computer system registered dash warnings of Collision Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist Warning System all not working. Into the Honda deal. The diagnostic revealed the radar warning system was misaligned. I explained the differences in dash safety warnings to the Honda Dealer. They said it should have never gone to a Buick Dealer to get a Honda system calibration. The Honda Dealer is recalibrating and setting all systems to Honda standards.Reader s Digest version - BAD EXPERIENCE - NEVER GOING BACK!Service: Body & Trim

I got into an accident with an almost brand-new car and the insurance company recommended a few places to me. When I called each place with a list of questions, almost none of them gave me the time of day and made me feel stupid for doing my due-diligence. I honestly chose this Gerber location because I was treated with a great deal of respect from my first call. On that call, Joe offered to assist me further, without yet knowing I was selecting their shop. This was a long term repair situation due in part to part availability (most likely due to Covid), but Joe called every Tuesday and Thursday for almost a month and a half as promised. He took the time to explain many things to me in detail and in a way that I could understand (without really understanding). I was honestly blown away by their customer service.

I cannot say enough good thinks about Gerber. I had the most frustrating experience with a local dealership causing my vehicle to need further repair after being at their dealership. Gerber was able to complete the repair very easily and were wonderful to work with. They made a very stressful situation so much easier to navigate and I really appreciate Joe and his staff. They are professional, friendly and best of all honest.Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys rock.

Had to bring my car in and Jennifer was by far the best person I've ever worked with. She found parts for my car that they don't make anymore and got me the best price overall. I have used Gerber in the past for major repairs. Excellent and efficient service.I stopped by a few days ago because my front bumper was loose.The person who looked at it fixed it without charging me. Very thankful.

Timely, direct and informative every step of the way. Undercarriage damage from roadway debris but attention and reporting was as if a substantive wreck occurred to the car. One point of contact and Jessica Limon did an excellent job in that capacity as estimator.
