I was referred here back in September by an auto center that didn't work on transmissions. They told me to ask for Jason and that he was very reasonable and that everyone they referred to him seemed very happy with his work. My truck (2015 Ford F-150 Lariat w/ 50k miles) had been making awful noises for a few weeks. I thought it was the brakes. I had brought it to another mechanic prior to the auto center, but their quote seemed awfully high. That mechanic suggested I needed a complete rebuild. I was heartbroken, because I had only bought my truck a few months ago, and I recently found myself in financial trouble. I told Jason about the first mechanic and about how I just bought my truck. He explained to me the possible scenarios and went to work. He also offered to drive me home after I dropped my truck off. I found a ride, but the offer meant a lot to me. He called me maybe two days later and told me that he was finished with the work. At first, I was taken back. "What do you mean? What'd you end up fixing? How much is it?" But then he told me the good news- my truck needed a lot less work than I/him thought, and it ended up costing a lot less than I had planned. I just started crying. I was so unbelievably happy. Jason let me pay over the phone so that I could pick up the truck after-hours. I got a ride from a family member. I meant to write this review a few months ago, but life happened. I didn't forget, though! Jason, you're a good person. You spoke to me like a human being, and that means a lot- especially as a woman; you were kind, understanding, and reasonable, and my truck sounds absolutely great. I'm so happy with my experience, and I'll be sending anyone and everyone I know to you.

Great trustworthy shop with work backed by a nationwide warranty and service network. A friend recommended them when my truck needed work, I called and quickly found out that Jason knows his stuff, gets right to it, and is a fair, straight shooter. Towed truck in with a badly grenaded transmission on a Monday, and he kept me updated (as more bad news was discovered) and had it back to me totally rebuilt, plus new lines, trans oil cooler, and radiator, on Saturday and even saved some of the trashed parts to show me, stayed later than normal, and let me know my brakes were in need of pads too. Thanks Jason!

Be careful. Had 2 vehicles in for transmission repairs. Was told they needed to be rebuilt but they just happened to have the 2 that I needed on the shelf so quick turnaround. One worked out just OK, the other kept having problems. Took them to another service and got them running better again and I sold the vehicles. My mechanic buddy looked at them and said it looked like both transmissions had come from a bone yard. Quick turnaround....Beware.....

In todays world it s hard to find a shop you can trust to be honest and do dependable work. Jason was not only very knowledgeable he took the time to go the extra mile and work with the dealership to make sure everything was done in my best interest. Great shop at a fair price. Highly recommended.

Jason was great. When I turned over 264k miles my truck finally stopped shifting through all the gears. I've always been hesitant having other people work on my vehicles but Jason was straight forward and honest. I even brought back the truck for some other work. My transmission shifts awesome and Jason was able to take make my truck shift like brand new again.

Jason runs a great shop. Reasonable pricing, honest work, and explains everything very well. He does not try and oversell you, confuse you, or scare you into getting a repair done. He does the job right the first time and that is very important for me.I had an 06 CVPI that had a bad trans, Jason rebuilt it and it's working great - plus I have a warranty on the rebuild.

Needed my transmission fluid and filter changed, called to make an appointment and was told I could get in next day. Dropped it off night before, had the job done by early afternoon. Stopped in to pick up my truck had great conversation with Jason. The price was much lower then I was quoted somewhere else. I will definitely be back for future service on my vehicle, great to find a mechanic and business you are comfortable with. I recommend anyone looking for work to give them a chance.

The only place to bring your vehicle. The best in transmission work and everything else. Jason stands behind his work and has always accommodated me .He has gone above and beyond to take care of my truck .Has paid for parts and labor from his own pocket to do the job right.I wish more people had the pride and skill that he has!Thanks Jason

I am so happy! My car runs like it is brand spanking new and I am about to go over 100k. Got new spark plugs and wires, the trans fluid , coolant, and oil changed. New cabin & engine air filter. New brakes, rotors and tires. I can't remember the last time my car drove this great! And got an affordable price and back a day early. Thank you Crystal Lake Transmissions for doing an amazing job, and giving me honest answers to my concerns. I can't wait to take my road trip in August! This place does great honest work, and I take both my cars to get serviced there. My trailblazer had the transmission replaced last year as well.

I thought I had a blown transmission in my Honda Accord, but Jason over the phone told me a way I could test to see if it was the case or not. Turns out it was what he had suspected, a broken CV axle. I did scouting around before I came to his shop and he struck me as the most candid, was definitely confident in his work.

I had my transmission replaced the service was efficient and the vehicle seems fine. But the owner charged me an extra 140.88 for credit card fees not mentioned before during or after payment. BUYER BEWARE. Deceptive billingService: TransmissionService: Transmission

Took my wifes 06 Acura TL here for work after being quoted over 6k for a replacement at McGrath Honda in Elgin. Jason was very knowledgeable and explained what most likely happened to it and what was most likely involved in the repair when we dropped it off. He called with updates and had it done in a very short amount of time. He got the work done for less than half of the dealer quote and gave me a 2yr/24000mi warranty. I will 100% recommend this place to everyone I know.

Trying to get a trans leak fixed it s been two months for them to try to get a gasket for my jeep between my trans and transfer case I ve been leaving messages but no returned call don t know if Jason is that busy or just don t need the work ???? Don t know what s going on

These guys know what they're doing! You'll pay a reasonable price, for class work that solves the problem. Good trans work is expensive, but only once if you get it done right. If you go cheap, you'll pay twice as much in the end. I like knowing that it's fixed, and I'm done with it!

trans died on an old truck of mine tracked down a trans for it and CL transmission installed it kept me updated and did it in a vary reasonable time frame and for a vary good price been almost a year since the install and not a problem.
