Professional, knowledgeable staff, and no pressure-upselling. One-year warranty on alignment and other warranties are honored without attitude -- their focus on customer service is a nice change. Great selection of tires, and they do just about everything else too.

These guys are the best! On my way to work today I hit a pothole and my tire was quickly losing air, so I stopped by. They took a look at it and found that I had bent my rim. While they were unable to fix the issue, they put my spare tire on and gave me guidance for next steps to take. They didn t even charge me for the service! I would 100% recommend Car-X to anyone. Everyone who helped me today was honest, helpful, and genuine.

It is a good place to take your car to service, the service is friendly and fast. Although they do not speak Spanish, I assure you that they will understand each other, which is a very good point in their favor, the gentleman behind the counter is attentive and helps you with all your questions, the prices are reasonable and the place is very clean and they follow all the health protocols. Mask required. Cash and cards are accepted. Let's support the businesses in our neighborhood. Very satisfied with my 5 star service.

Came to Car-X for a new set of tires. Was met by Patrick who got my car in immediately. The customer service here was great. They have coffee and a tv as well as a bathroom if you have to wait there as I did. They checked my alignment after putting on the tires and found that it was just slightly off but they helped me out and corrected it for free. All around took about an hour and a half to get me in and out which is great for a Saturday especially considering I made my appointment the day before.Highly recommend the guys at Car-X.

1st time here and was fantastic I called in to use 2 coupons spoke to joey he was great explaining everything very detailed so I gave it a shot had wheel alignment and winter package radiator flush was given a price when I walked in full detail of what's to be done and updated pictures as service progressed. Joey went above and beyond to show me every step of the way of what's being done and over check of vehicle this is class A++ service especially for first time using the crystal lake car x I will definitely only use them for my repairs and maintenance for the record I live 50 min away and was in area they were fast and very excellent quality work this place is a must and I will continue to drive 50 min for this quality which is extremely hard to find at other auto shopsService: Wheel alignment

Manny has been very detailed and precise on everything that needs to be fixed with your car. Being a neurodivergent person I appreciate the little education he gives you. It helps a lot of what you re buying for your car to fix the problems. Very happy with the service I received. Was in and out of there within an hour. Joe Harty the manager was friendly and informative. Let me know what maintenance was needed and go it done. Will definitely be back when my car needs service again. Would have given 5 stars but there was a little oil on my white car seat and they left the paper to protect the floor in the car.Services: Auto brake repair, Tire rotations, Oil change

This is by far the best place to get your car serviced. ALL of the employees here we so kind, courteous, and professional. The mechanic at this store was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job at making sure my vehicle was safe. The manager clearly explained the services that were going to be provided and didn t pressure me at all. This shop is an excellent example of how all shops should be run. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers here and want them to drive away safely with the best deal. This was an easy five star rating.Services: Wheel alignment, Oil change

I ve been to the Car X Crystal Lake location a couple of times now. They are always courteous, friendly, & very helpful. Reasonable pricing & quick service. I will definitely return for future car repairs! I ve had a tire repaired recently there & a few months ago, they installed a new car battery for my car. We have been going to Car-X for years. Purchased the family pack oil change multiple times and it is best price in town. Al the manager and his employees were professional. Got me in and out quickly as I requested. I trust their judgement since they only recommend things if it makes sense. They are worth checking out since they run specials as well. They text you the inspection report and let's you know without pressure if anything else needed.Services: Brakes, Oil change

II had a flat tire was able to get the vehicle to CarX in Crystal Lake. From the first call I was very happy with the service. They got me in immediately. Unfortunately it turned out that it wasn't only a flat but wheel was damaged. The manager Dave was awesome ! He took my wheel to 2 locations to see if it could be repaired since getting a new wheel would be very pricey. When that didn't work he helped me find a replacement part and was soooo patient with me and worked around my crazy work schedule to communicate after his hours and then waited to get the part and held onto my car for nearly 2 weeks! Wonderful service above and beyond!!! Very caring team and will definitely be referring my sister who is local.Service: Tires

I stopped in car x and had Dave look at my exhaust. He said it was a very easy fix. The dealer want to charge me or $400. Car X did a great job and fixed it in 10 minutes. I am very happy with the work they did. Will go back againService: ExhaustService: Exhaust

My husband came here for an oil change, and manager John Plesha was professional and courteous. Explained to him what else was going on with our SUV after our service was complete, and instead of suggesting he repair it now, he went the extra mile and mentioned we should check with our dealership first as the car is still under warranty. This will save us a lot of money, and we re really grateful! Will definitely come back for service with him again.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Brought my car in for an oil change and Jason gave me a discount on the required full synthetic oil for my car. He also checked my brakes and was completely honest and straight forward. He took the time to explain the extent of the wear and compared them to new pads. He explained the safety concerns and provided different price options for my budget. The mechanics are also great here. If Jason stays at this location, I'll definitely be coming back.

Very impressed with the service, as well as the price. Brian had excellent guest service with my husband and I. Showed up a little early for our appointment, and they took us right away. Thorough explanations at every step in their processes. Efficient work, performed as quickly as possible. Went in for an oil change and a flat fixed. Needed new tires instead, as well as the oil change, and they took care of them the same day. Excellent service, asking questions to find out what tire style suits my driving requirements, helped me get the best and most appropriate tires in my price range.

Went in at the beginning of month for oil change and to check on some noises that had popped up or become more obvious (purchased used vehicle) and confirmed some of the issues I already knew about and a couple other related issues. Was a pricey fix but Scott worked with me and was able to knock down the price a bit as well as was helpful in signing me up for a credit account through them so I could get the necessary repairs to maintain the safety and life of my vehicle. Was an all day job but he was forward with the amount of time it would take. Came back a few weeks later for another noise and it was a related repair to previous issues and once again worked with me. I was able to pick up and pay for the part myself through his distributor (who gave a nice little discount as well with the mention of his name) and saved me some money that way as well. And even better he was able to do this job same day. Overall very satisfied with the service as he will take you into the shop and show you exactly what is wrong and will work with you to make sure you leave with a reliable vehicle. Honestly best service I've ever had with a mechanic shop! Jon and the crew were very respectful and fun to talk to! Very honest with every detail and no hidden pricing , everything was priced well! Called for a quote on two tires. One which had a nail in. Jason was very helpful in letting me know that I might not need a new tire. He offered to look at the tire free of charge and if it were repairable I wouldn't have the need to buy new tires. He also did make me aware of other problems the car had. Overall, I recommend coming here. Very good and fast service.

I cannot thank Scott and the rest Car X staff on their exceptional customer service! They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and caring people. With the worst luck of my car breaking down out of state, these men were able to get me in, diagnosis, and have my car fixed in only two hours! Not only this, but making a special accommodation to when I could pick my car up. Ive had multiple tire and rim issues one after another and they've helped me find the best and safest options within budget to fix my car and I've left happy and beyond satisfied every time. No complaints here. Got a wheel alignment here after I got new tires. They were upfront and honest. They told me about coupons and came down in price when I called with a slightly lower price from a competitor. Along with others, I do not think they would try to get you to do work on the vehicle that is not needed. They said that my brakes checked out fine...unlike Havoline right down the road who said my brakes were shot and needed to be replaced immediately (see my review of Havoline).

I moved here a little over a year ago and since then I have been a regular customer here and the staff are amazing and always fix my SUV with care and always try to find the lowest prices for me.
