The staff was so amazing and patient, they were very welcoming and I had one of the greatest experiences ever being in or at a DMV. Thanks again for your kindness, friendliness and your time. My son had a great experience when he got his license. My daughter came last summer and she really loves everyone there.

Took my son to get his driver's license for the first time( he is 17). Every associate in there was so friendly and helpful. We live in Decatur. It was so quick and easy. Thank you so much.

I have never written a complaint of any kind but this one truly bothered me so I would like to share. This location recently changed its hours to remove the Saturday hours and instead be open M to F, 8 to 530 pm. For me, I work every day at those times and that completely eliminates any ability for me to be able to visit. After weeks of trying, I finally was able to get off work in time on a Friday to make it before closing time at 5:30. I just needed to get my new sticker, which takes less than 5 minutes. When I went to open the door at 5:20pm, I found it was locked. I knocked and was actively ignored by a woman 5 feet from the door that I could see and who could hear me knocking. I tried to signal to ask to speak really quickly, but was given a "closed" gesture by a man standing next to the woman (who was giving me a dirty look, I believe she was annoyed that i hadn't just walked away when the door was locked). After a few more gestures back and forth, as I couldnt hear what he was saying, the man came over to the door talk to me. He was pleasant enough and gave me an answer to where I could go that had Saturday hours (though I typically work Saturdays as well so that will still be a challenge). My point of all of this is that it may be a small thing, but closing down 10 or 15 minutes early so that you can leave on a Friday night has further reaching consequences than someone just being slightly inconvenienced and having to come back on Monday. The DMV is a government agency and is there to serve the people of that community. When the community loses access to these services, (and also ignored and given a stink eye), there is an issue there.I am not mad but rather just hope that someone that works there reads this and has a second thought next time about shaving off a couple minutes of their work day. Those 10 minutes have now cost me additional hours of my life, along with gas/money, to travel to Bloomington Normal on a Saturday. It's just disappointing. I still appreciate the man for coming to the door to speak to me.

Very friendly staff and they work hard to move people in and out. The line was 7 people deep at open for a cold November morning, so plan accordingly if you want to get there at open.

I go here because i know it is a small town and Decatur lines will be super long. With COVID, i came to renew my license and i waited outside for maybe 30 minutes before i was seen. They have about 4 people inside at a time with distancing. The staff are very nice. They are very good at sanitizing between customers and work together to keep the environment clean. Parking can be an issue if there are many people waiting. The parking lot is small.

Lauren was absolutely amazing. I had four different issues I needed help with. She was efficient, kind and patient with me. Definitely a huge difference than the Bloomington DMV.

My husband and I went there this morning and it was by far the most efficient DMV we've ever been to. We were helped by Lauren and Camille who are SUPER friendly! They told us about some festivals around the area since we're relatively new in town. I recommend!

Arrived 1/2 an hour before opening to wait until 10 minutes after 8 for the doors to open. Only 2 people in the facility and no availability to do driving tests for young drivers. What a mess!!!It was never fun going before but now it's completely ridiculous. Good use of tax payer money............not!

Pros: Easy in, easy out without long lines. This alone probably justifies using this facility. Some of the staff are very helpful and friendly. Cons: some of the staff are very unhelpful and very unfriendly. This is probably true of any place where bureaucrats deal with the public on a regular basis. In my particular experience, I called ahead to inquire about what documents I would need to have with me. When I came, they did not accept the documents I was told were okay to bring. I'm sure it was an innocent mistake, but it was annoying, especially when I was dealing with someone in person who appeared to relish their bureaucratic authority of telling people "No." This arrogance cost them a star. They are a government agency with a monopoly, so I'm sure they couldn't care less. Perhaps all bureaucrats should be forced to do business with bureaucrats in other agencies on a regular basis to develop a sense of compassion and customer service. There is an exception to this. There is a woman there with white hair who is fantastic, and if she doesn't run the place, she should. She goes above and beyond, and other employees at this facility would be wise to learn from her. She comes across as actually caring about patrons rather than just bureaucratic handbooks. Let's face it, dealing with the government is rarely a pleasant experience. With that in mind, the Clinton facility is better than many others I've dealt with, though it has potential to be better if it exerted a little effort.

We came to this location based on the reviews that have been placed here before. Unfortunately, our experience didn't line up with what others wrote. While the line wasn't too long compared to other DMV's, the service was less than desirable. The facility currently does not offer road tests between 11:00 am-2:00 pm, while other facilities within the area offer them during all business hours. I can get past that.......- To the associate who would not conduct a road test at the time of 10:50 because it was too close to 11:00, do better, rather than suggesting to come back at 2:00.- To the manager who responded "That isn't my problem" to the 16 year old who had been to the facility five times for a road test and was turned away again, do better, it is your problem. You are the manager of the facility and she is a customer of yours.-To the same manager who was instructing a road test and decided to roll down the window to yell at pedestrians who were walking on the street, "there is a sidewalk", do better. You are instructing a road test.We ended up visiting another DMV location in the area and had a much better experience all-around. The staff was pleasant, took care of business, and I even heard one of the associates call a customer just that, a customer. While there is not competition in this marketplace, act like there is, act like you can lose a customer to another business. In the end, you'll perform your job at a stronger level and the customer's will have better experiences. Best of luck to you moving forward and hoping we touched base on an "off day" for the facility.

I really recommend this facility, 90% of the time is in and out, even on their worst day still 5 times better then Bloomington facility. The ladies and gentlemen here are super helpful and very nice, always smiling. Completely opposite to the Bloomington facility. The only downside is the building is very small but overall great.

Needed to renew my sticker. Only 3 people working and made us stand outside in 96 weather. We waited for 30 min outside and decided to find a different dmv.

They do not understand which documents are required to renew a driver's license and waste your time. Thought reading was a basic requirement for employment.Plus they are closed for 12-1p for lunch, which is NOT listed in their hours.

After 3 attempts at our local DMV in Bloomington to try and have my son take the road test to obtain his driver's license, we gave up and drove 30 minutes to the Clinton DMV. We called ahead while sitting in the Bloomington DMV parking lot and confirmed a road test was still available for the next 2 hours. Upon entering the Clinton DMV, we were the second customer in line for service. 10 minutes later, an examiner joined my son for his road test. 15 minutes later, he passed! Now that's what I call a successful spur of the moment adventure and superb customer service.

Best DMV office so far! Quick and kind personnel.Lauren is very kind; she did everything to make my road test possible. Camille is also polite, she facilitated my road test and I learned a lot from her. This office is understaff but they really provided me the best customer experience.

Just moved to the area. Went to get plate stickers, and update our drivers licenses. Darla was very nice and very helpful. Even though we also updated the addresses on 6 registrations. Not many people out there that would take the time to do that. Especially with a smile. Thank you much.

I waited outside for over an hour! No regard for any one. No sense of urgency what so ever. My associate rolled her eyes and made heavy sigh's for not knowing more information. I need a driver's license change but there is no way I will stand in line like that my back can't take it

It took me like 25 minutes to take the written, vision and drive test, very fast service with almost no waiting lines.

Do not take your 16 year old here to get license. They're overly critical and expect perfection. They told my child confusing and contradictory statements. "You did wonderful...You did great, but, you made one mistake and I have to fail you." The mistake? Not seeing an unplowed turn lane. Then they lost my child's permit and acted like it wasnt a big deal. This DMV needs lessons in protecting tax payers private information, among other things. I give them negative stars.

All of the ladies here are slower than dmv slow. Just was in line and they wanted to get out on time so they told me to come back as i had everything needed. Go elsewhere. No wonder everything state related sucks. Starts with the worst employees.

Employees at this facility are very pleasant and helpful . With all that they have to go through and all the changes the state of Illinois are forcing upon a person they need to be commended.
