Great buying experience. Salesperson Jimmy was fantastic as were Rocco and Matt. Donnie from finance is wicked fast with paperwork so you re not there all day. This is a dealership that truly cares about making the customer happy. They all worked to get the deal I wanted. A+ dealership. Highly recommend.

This was the best car leasing purchase I've had in more than 20 years. The salesperson Johnny O was fantastic. Kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy, the entire experience was wonderful. He should be commended. The general manager as well was courteous and respectful.

Someone driving on route 77 south just inside North Carolina with a dealer plate from the dealership was driving like an absolute lunatic and almost caused at least two wrecks that I saw cutting people off and weaving in and out of traffic between semi trucks They should really get control of the people they let drive their marked vehicles yikes it is a very poor representation of the company. I do realize it was probably someone they have transferring a vehicle from some other dealership All I m saying is have better people or minimally take your name off the back

Jimmy Caprile made finding a car an easy and great experience. He definitely made me comfortable asking questions and so helpful finding the right vehicle for me. He was super attentive, very on top of working out a deal, and quick with responding to questions and concerns. Everyone at this dealership were extremely nice and friendly!

I had a fantastic experience and it was mainly a byproduct of Mike Szafraniec, and his phenomenal service. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. I'll definitely be using this location for future services and needs.

BE CAREFUL!I hope this message helps other people not be scammed by these people. Please, be extra careful if you ever decide to go to this location as they aren't trustworthy. A car listed for 20K ended up as 35K.I purchased a car in October 2023. The amount agreed on the sale is different from what they showed be and the sales person was refusing to tell me the price of the loan because they had to "wait for my credit check". To my surprise, when I received the statement, the amount was above what I was shown at the store.I paid it to be registered in a different state. The permit I left the place with expired and the car is not registered and no one from Downtown Volkswagen Chicago answers my calls.

Effortless and impressive maintenance at VW of Downtown Chicago! Fred help provide seamless scheduling, complimentary pickup and drop off, and a complimentary car wash made what is normally an annoying errand such a breeze. A detailed voiceover video of the service was provided with their recommendations as well. Top service all around!

I have bought several cars here and referred several people to buy cars here as well. This is a beautiful new renovation to the Volkswagen dealership from top to bottom. General Manager Mike Z. He has made all my experiences nothing less than exceptional. I highly recommend this place for its Sales, Service, Parts, and anything else related to Volkswagen.

Mike S was great all along the way here as the software in my Atlas shut down. He communicated when the order was ready and was helpful in implementation. Mike is always great to work with!

I literally live down the street from you guys and the whole experience was just great, a great car shopping experience at my local dealership. Terrel was fantastic, he showed me all the features and took me on multiple test drives. He was very patient and really took my specific needs into it. Julian was also great, working out a deal with me. After frankly, a lot of negotiation on my part! In the end, I felt we came to a deal that was both fair for myself and you guys.

Nice and clean space, friendly and honest staff that aren t trying to rip you off every time you bring your car in. Example, I brought my Jetta thinking I needed new breaks and they told me there were just rusty, cleaned them up and gave me my car back without a charge. Most of the times they are super busy but thats due to the good and reliable work.It has a waiting area with comfortable seats, wifi, restrooms, etc. I spent all my morning working without a problem while I waited for my service.

I'm not the type to write reviews but this place was so singularly awful that I don't want others to endure this disorganized, dysfunctional, and exploitative service department. After buying our Golf in 2015, we've had great experiences at other locations and have had all of our services done at VW dealerships, but we took a chance on this one because it's closer to our house. Huge mistake. After booking, I confirmed the appointment by text, only to receive multiple phone calls (I confirmed, again), and then the day of the appointment, inexplicably received more confirmation calls. After dropping off the vehicle, things only got worse. We received a list of four repairs, three of which the service advisor, Brian could not explain or justify. Despite having our spark plugs replaced less than six months ago (max 3,000 miles), they insisted we needed new ones. When I tried to get an explanation from the technicians, I waited on hold only to be told they were unavailable. Further communication was even more dismal. Despite confirming my phone number and email (twice) they repeatedly called the wrong number and sent emails to the wrong address, forcing my partner and I to spend all day going back and forth trying to figure out what was going on. I repeatedly waited on hold and then either nobody bothered to return the call with the information I needed, or I would get a string of unrelated calls. After six hours of this, I spent another hour waiting for a callback only to call again and find out the car was ready. It would have been nice that they washed and vacuumed the car if it wasn't left full of their trash.Without a clear justification, we only opted for 1/4 of the recommended repairs. They ended up charging us almost $1400 to replace an oil pan, which I later found out is a simple replacement on an easily accessible part that averages $1000 on the high end. I went straight to another mechanic, and they not only told us two of the other repairs were unnecessary but then quoted us half the price for the remaining repair. They were shocked when I told them how much we paid to replace an oil pan.Save your time and money - avoid this place at all costs.

I would have given 0 stars if that was possible. I was interested in one of the used cars in their inventory. I live about 2.5 hours away from the dealership so I called them and asked them multiple times to ensure that they don't have any hidden charges/extra charges apart from the advertised vehicle price, taxes and title registration fee before I drove down there so that I don't waste an entire day. The person who spoke to me over the phone assured me that there won't be any extra charges apart from the advertised price, taxes and title registration fee. I must have asked at least 3-4 times to make sure. When I reached the dealership, they added about $3500 additional charges that I was assured were not going to be charged. Their online advertised numbers cannot be trusted. I can't dictate how they make their prices but the basic thing that they SHOULD have done was be transparent and let me know that there maybe additional charges when I asked them multiple times over the phone since I live far away from the dealership. Even if they said I don't know or we won't know until you are at the dealership would have been sufficient for me to cancel my frustrating trip. I could have avoided the entire trip and saved myself the frustration and travel headache if they had a shred of respect for their customers and had been honest with me.

Michael Szafraniec - always takes excellent care of my car when I bring it in for service. He is very thorough and takes the time to explain to me what is needed, what was done and next steps. He makes sure I leave there with a well tuned car and have a pleasant experience.

I live 600 miles away but found a great deal on a hard-to-find used vehicle here. They handled the deal by phone, made it pretty painless, let my friend in town test drive it for me, and I drove back a few days later in my dream car. Good experience.

About one month ago my VW Jetta (~75k miles) broke down and I had it towed to this location for some expensive repairs. At the time, I also followed VW s recommendation to pay for 2 new front tires. All was good in the world until a few days ago my low tire pressure light turns on. That s weird, I thought - I just purchased new tires. As I m pulling into a gas station, my front right tire completely & immediately deflates. I park my car and take a look. The valve that keeps air from escaping had completely blown away somewhere on the road (see pictures). I could not imagine what would have happened if I were driving on a highway!! I call VW and the first person I speak with is dismissive and tells me my new tire isn t covered. I become upset and eventually escalate the conversation to the manager, Mike. Mike is rightfully skeptical and tells me he s never heard anything like this happening in 30 years. How do you think I feel after installing brand new tires?! Anyway, after some back & forth, he tells me to bring my car in and we ll get the problem fixed. GREAT! I slap on my spare tire and carefully drive myself over to their location. I arrive at 3:30 PM and a service agent tells me Mike has left for the day and that I can leave my car overnight to get a new tire, which means I would have to go through the hassle of paying out of pocket for yet another car rental. With very little contemplation, I walked out and drove myself into Lexus on a spare tire and bought myself a new RX 350. NEVER AGAIN am I dealing with Volkswagen. They literally pushed me past the edge to trade in my car and upgrade to a new car. I was not happy with the customer service, I hope others have better experiences.

Awesome service, great communication and explanation. But this was my second time coming and the second time the car wash was broken. Starting to think it doesn't exist. Everything else was great.

I recently visited Volkswagen for a needed repair, and I must say, I had a great experience. They fixed the issue quickly and efficiently. What impressed me the most was their thoughtfulness in arranging an Uber ride for me to go home and then return to pick up my vehicle. It made the entire process so convenient. Thank you, Volkswagen, for your excellent service!

Posting this as a PSA. I bought a used vehicle from this dealership in September of 2023. Despite the car not being a Volkswagen the sales team was insistent on adding on a "permaplate" exterior protection plan. This insurance coverage is nearly 3k. Despite my strong refusal of the coverage, the sales team said it's not possible to leave without it, said they would cover the cost of the plan, and I love the car so I bought it. Months later come to find out that the way they process this insurance is most likely a scam. I have called/emailed the dealership, their finance department, the permaplate people. I had a small fix for the vehicle which I was hoping was going to be covered by this policy but when I filed a claim they said my vehicle wasn't even registered and couldn't provide me with a policy number. Pretty sure the dealership just pockets that money and I hope when others buy from this place they refuse this coverage policy.4/19/24 Update. Changing to 1 star. Followed up with Mike and Julian and the excuse is that they "forgot" to apply for the policy. Been a few months now. Multiple phone calls no resolution. No confirmation or policy number. Beware and avoid the permaplate policy.

The staff at Volkswagen Of Chicago were professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. From the moment I walked in I was treated like a valuable customer. Abel Barraza (my salesman) was great to work with. He was upfront with everything and provided me with all the information I needed to make a well informed decision regarding my Daughters first vehicle purchase. Abel knows the product and was able to answer every question I had. And also thanks to Gabriel Ceniceros for going thru all the details with the vehicle for us ensuring a smooth and easy process. Definitely not as dreadful as my previous car buying experiences.I highly recommend Abel and Gabriel if you, or anyone you know is in the market for a new or used car. I would definitely come back to this dealership for my future purchasing needs.

Very helpful, professional staff and their service department is well-run. Unfortunately they could not repair my car due to parts issues, and charged an exorbitant amount of money ($3K) just to get my car back without being repaired. No one ever warned me or my insurance company of this and it feels like an extremely poor business practice. After months of waiting, my car was towed to a repair shop that fixed my car in a day. After four months without my car. $3000 for zero work done.

I purchased a used Subaru and traded in my old car and was very pleased with how quick and easy the process was. They were transparent about the finances and answered all of my questions. I've now had the Subaru for a few months and have had no problems with the vehicle.

I feel lucky to have an excellent relationship with VW of Downtown Chicago. I have gone through a number of advisors since I got my 2003 Beetle and now my 2013 Beetle and each one has gone way above my expectations in service of my bug.The fact that my car is still running well, still gets admiring compliments is due to my love, but also the trust I have in the care given by VW Downtown. Thank you Luis T. You are awesome and I pray you continue to be the face of VW for me.

Long story short they smashed my car twice two separate incidents. Went in for warranty work and the work they performed literally leaked oil the first day. Messed up my trip to Gulf Shores because they didn t have a loaner on hand. Came back got the car the front bumper was swiped. Got that fix then brought my car in to get window switch replaced only to find out that now they swiped the passenger side door and rear quarter panel. The dealership was supposed to bring the car to a shop of my choice by law and agreed to do so but then sent it to there preferred shop to save money. Got the car back put together poorly. The paint job was terrible and had to go back to the same shop and get completely repainted. After 3 weeks I finally got my car back and was forced to accept the repairs. I then was promised compensation for all the problems and also be they devalued my car since the entire passenger side has now been repainted and know that a dealer will not give me the same price if I were to trade it in. After a heated discussion over the phone the new manager was a hot head and said he wouldn t do anything not knowing there was an agreement. I explained to the Michael Lichter the new manager that there was a written agreement signed he didn t not care. If I can give this dealership a negative 10 I would. I now have to bring my car to another dealership since the can tray cover is leaking again after there poor repairs.

I recently had a terrible experience selling my car at Volkswagen of Downtown Chicago. They claimed that the carriers had "lost" the package. Any other respectful and professional company would have business continuity plans to catch this kind of issue. It took me almost a month and a half to finally receive payment, which was a huge inconvenience and caused me a lot of stress. It cost me around 16 hours of time and money trying to resolve the situation. When I asked for my car back, they said I needed to pay $1000 to get it back. Even though they hadn't paid me any money for my car, it was extortion. They were holding my car hostage. I was prepared to file a police report because it felt like they had stolen my car. The situation was that bad.The managers were extremely unprofessional and unhelpful throughout the entire process. I called and called, but the managers didn't answer, and if they did, they started yelling and making excuses for their lack of oversight and managerial skills. They didn't do any follow-up or try to contact me to resolve the issue. Overall, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone looking to sell their car. The lack of communication and poor customer service made the entire experience a nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.I was referred to them through KBB with an offer of $ 6,500. When I got to the dealership, when I got the dealership, they said the car was only worth $5500 and they wouldn't pay me more. I wanted to leave right away, but they kept my keys, and eventually, they came back and said they would pay me $ 6,500 for the car. I am currently in talks with KBB to have them remove this dealership from their program and file a complaint with BBB for their business practices. Buyers and sellers, beware.

Highly recommend working with Jonathan (Salesman) & Mike Z (The GM)! Throughout the entire purchasing process, they provided exceptional customer service. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to assist. They made the entire experience seamless.

Service Manager and GM gets a thumbs up from me. Not a fan of Rocco the used car manager. After not having a solution to take care of an issue with the car I just bought the day before, I was put in a loaner. 30 days goes by and still no resolution with my vehicle. Told me can t keep me in the loaner and if I didn t bring it back he was going to report it stolen. Unprofessional in my opinion. Talked to the GM shortly after, got my car fixed that day.

I've had a mix of positive and negative experience here but overall, knowing people sometimes makes mistakes, and we do have the freedom to decide if we want to come here or not, I still choose to come here because I know what I agree to when I sign off during drop off. Prices aren't the lowest but in downtown Chicago, they're about inline with what you'll find in the area. Sometimes people make mistakes and if I feel as if something didn't go well, I make sure I can get my concerns escalated and heard so every time I've been here it's been taken care of. Luis is usually my service advisor and he's always been respectful along with helpful throughout the whole process.
