I called their office the minute they opened at 8AM on 8/16/23 and even though there was no response, I received a callback right away. I explained that the afternoon before I could feel a scraping when I used the breaks. I didn t want to drive the car with the scraping sound and damage it more. I asked how long it would take. A timeframe could not be given because my car need to be inspected. Danny told me that he would try his best to get it done in an hour an a half. Danny explained to me the plan and I was at the car shop around 8:45AM. I thought it was the front break pads but Danny confirmed it was the ones in the back. He explained and showed me the system that is part of the breaks. He showed me where the rotor was vs the break pad. It was great to see the actual part of my car that needed repair. I took a picture before the work and after. I was amazed at how nice the new parts looked on my car. Christian at the from desk gave me a quote with the break down and went to pick up the parts for my car. All in all friendly and informative. I was ready to be on my way by around 10:30AM. I m really happy with my experience and would recommend them.

Excellent customer service from the moment I walked in, to the moment I left!The mechanic checked my car's problem, explained the issue, what needed to be replaced, and gave a very fair price.From start to finish, I did not wait long at all!Great communication, great price, wonderful service, quick but thorough repair...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VELASQUEZ!They definitely now have a customer in me!Service: Auto exhaust system replacement

I have been taking my car in for repairs to Velazquez on Belmont several times. When I took my 2003 Toyota Highlander the past Saturday I was quickly greeted by Angel the Manager. I told him my issue and quickly had my car brought back. He offered coffee and donuts they had in the waiting area. Shortly after he called me back to explain why may car was making the noises it did. I had two areas in which there was a leak and therefore causing the issues. He explained what needed to be done in details and told me how much it was going to cost me. He said they can work on it right away and I would be able to leave with it fixed the same day. I decided to have it fixed. About 1 hour the car was complete, Angel and the mechanic Johnny brought me back and showed me the completed work. I couldn t believe how fast it was done. What a great job! Angel even gave me advice on how important it is to wash underneath the cars to remove the salt after it snows because that does terrible damage. I couldn t believe that I did not know this.I have before and after photos of the work to show. Velazquez Mufflers is great! Great service , fast, professional, reasonable prices. Thank you Angel and Johnny!

Went there for oil change. The car was inspected and it turned out the cabin AC filter should be replaced. All was well remove one star because the cabin air filter cover was not put back as it was. It was simply left open, one screw went missing. Later the technician was able to redo the work, put the cover properly and found the missing screw(lock). The place was pretty cool, with a lot of exhausts pipes and parts.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Oil change

Took my 2014 infinity Q 60 S to get a resonated muffler delete install on my exhaust. The guys for professional and careful with my car. The exhaust came out perfect and sounds amazing. I would definitely recommend.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

These guys are awesome! Called and went in the same day. Everyone I spoke to was super nice and knowledgeable about everything. Danny, the mechanic, is great. He did a quick diagnosis and walked me through everythig he'd be doing. And the inspection of the work i was given after speaks for itself. He even fixed up some of my own exhaust work for me. My catalytic converter was stolen last night, and I went to Velasquez on a recommendation, and they were truly amazing! They got the job done so quickly, the same day and gave me a great price! They were all so nice and professional!! I would recommend them to anyone and I am for sure going to return!!

Went back to these guys for a new muffler after going there years ago from a good referral. Was not nearly as happy this time, in fact, I won't be going back. I drove 45 minutes out of my way, because I remembered how satisfied I was back then, only to have them charge almost twice - 76% more to be precise - than what my local shop would have charged. I told them about the other quote, asked for a lower priced option, and they just shrugged and said that's all they could do. Oh but they gave me a cheap snow scraper on my way out.

My catalytic converter was stolen and I came to Velasquez right before they were closing. They stayed open and fixed it so fast and efficiently. They were so professional and kind and did an amazing job! I highly recommend Velasquez and I will definitely be taking my car there for further needs!

Went here after I needed an immediate repair on a Sunday and they were so incredibly friendly and helpful. Dropped off my car at 9AM and had it back by 1PM. Price was reasonable and great service! Will come here in the future.

I love Valsquez auto! Everyone has always been so friendly, professional and responsive. Christian at the front desk arranged to see my car same day no appointment for a persistent electrical light issue. I was able to pass my emissions test! Their business was initially recommended to me to fix an engine catalyst manifold. This repair had been done over a year ago and Valsquez remembered me and prioritized the care of my car during the busy summer season. What a great business! I call Late After 5;00 pm Friday the Oct. 21st - 2022 For A Flex Pipe On My Muffler Loud Noise.2. Was impressed with my first call. The service writer was very professional on the phone and suggested I stop by for a quick check to see what might be needed and, only then be able to give me an accurate quote.On arrival I could see that there were enough employees and stock on the walls to get the job done quickly and correctly. At that point, I m sold !Prices are competitive in that business; nobody things that they re going to price super high and stay in business. Plus when I heard of the number of locations, it confirms in my head brain that material cost, more than likely, will be as competitive as possible .Giovanni was very good in every aspect of representing Valesquez. Courteous, patient and complete.Simple but I don t see that I most any business type these days. He was low keyed and exhibited a sense of assurance that T knew this, mostly simple job, would be done right. Bad managers can still hurt a company, even if it has all the right materials and workers. He is the first contact with the customer; so he IS.the most important.I have been self employed for 40 years, Keep that guy !!Service: Exhaust

I had an exhaust leak on my 08 Infiniti and Velasquez was recommended to me recently. I decided to check them out and I m glad I did. They looked at my vehicle and after inspection they told me what was wrong with my muffler and how they were going to repair it. Once the work was complete they showed me how the repairs looked. Unprofessional went in was quoted 50 to 100 to weld a crack on my catalytic waited 30 minutes to hear the guys complaining in the back that they wanted to go home already and not accept anymore jobs they raised my car they didnt even look at it cus i know they didnt pull the cover then came back from the work area and said its going to be 480 just to have me decline the job so they can go home. Go home dont worry. Thanks for the superior service

My catalytic converter got stolen so I went to these guys for a new one. 5 months later and I need to get it replaced. Those things should last for 10 years. At the time I also asked them if they could install a catalytic converter shield (to prevent it from getting stolen again) but they said I wouldn't need to because people are less likely to steal the replacement, which seemed shady to me at the time and now I know why. It is standard practice for the buyer to bring the catalytic converter shield which I didn't know at the time and would have been willing to do but they never informed me of this. Regardless they are not trustworthy.Service: Auto exhaust system replacement

I had a great experience here. I had my catalytic converter stolen on a Saturday night/ Sunday morning and this was one of the few auto repair places which was opene on a Sunday. I was able to get my car in at 11:00 a.m. and they were done with all the work before they close at 2:00 p.m. this allows me to go to work tomorrow morning without needing to borrow a car from my parents or get a rental car. they show you the work that was done while your car is still up on the lift so you can see everything that was done. there is a nice bar next door d-men which has cool decor and good food and drinks that you can eat and drink while you wait. The catalytic converter that they installed was new and comes with a 5 yearwarrant , the is also a 90-day warranty on the labor.Service: Exhaust

Went to check noise that happens only when I make the first few right turns, was told it was the control arms. I had them replaced and they were installed upside down making my car undrivable. A 2 hour job turned into a 6 hour job. I was told an alignment was not necessary, now it s required. I still don t know how this will turn out as I m scheduled for alignment today, however the noise that I originally took it for is still there. I could update this later for higher rating but not until my car is back to what it was before parts were replaced.Service: Steering & suspension repair

"I recently visited Velasquez Mufflers on Belmont and had an excellent experience with their team. I needed my full exhaust system replaced, and they were able to get the job done in under 2 hours, which was amazing! The staff, especially Miquel, were very friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the entire process.Initially, I was hesitant to have the work done because I couldn't afford the full price of $1,300. But thanks to Miquel's help, I was able to finance the repairs and pay them off within 90 days with no interest. This made it much more affordable for me and my family, and we are grateful for the financing option.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the service I received at Velasquez Mufflers on Belmont. My van now rides smoothly and quietly, and it no longer sounds like a monster truck! My Cadillac converter got nicked by some thieves. Called up the shop, they said bring it in this afternoon, and they had it repaired within an hour and the price was fair. The service was very quick and friendly, no issues taking me into the shop to show me the damage and show me the repairs made. I would recommend the shop and we'll be going back again for future Auto Care needs.

I was having an error message come up and my abs light was on. I had a diagnostics at another shop in Logan Square and it said it was a wheel speed sensor but they wanted to do $1800 of work just to get rid of this error. I went to Velasquez for an exhaust repair and asked if they could replace the wheel speed sensor and they had it done in like an hour. Error message is gone! And for less than $200!

Definitely was overcharged today for a taillight bulb replacement. Called and asked for an estimate and was told it would only be $40 and of Course when I got there they added an extra $20 dollars and told it was a labor charge assuming I didn t know how to do it myself. The 2 bulbs cost about $8.99 on auto zone so the original charge of $40 was reasonable but to charge me $60 was definitely an over charge . I double checked it myself afterwards there was no need to charge me an extra $20 and the only reason I accepted the charge was because it was Sunday , no other auto shop was open and I didn t want to do it myself. This is not my usual auto shopI go to and I definitely will not be back and would not recommend!! Only came here out of convenience and of course I was overcharged for a simple task. I will not be back .

Great experience. First time getting muffler repair, however, the price was fair. I specially liked how the issue with my car was displayed to me first. Secondly, I was given repair options. Then after I made the decision they went to work. The work was completed within 40 minutes. If I need future work I would return and/ or recomend this place. Thanks again.

I m here writing a review of my experience at Velasquez complete auto care on Belmont. They worked on my 2013 Mercedes Benz ML63 AMG. I don t typically write these things but my positive experience definitely warrants this review.Upon walking in, I was greeted by someone at the front desk with a smile. I described what I wanted (resonator delete) and I was quickly given a very reasonable estimate.I was introduced to a tech named Alex. A really nice guy and very knowledgeable on all things related to vehicles and their performance. We conducted a job briefing prior to him starting the work and he assured me that my Mercedes was in good hands.Once the job was completed, Alex then started the vehicle up and boy was I astonished at how good my truck sounded. Hard to understand why they didn t produce this from the factory, because it sounds incredible now.I d like to give a huge thanks to Alex for performing such a great job on the resonator delete. He has a steady hand and his welds are exceptional. Dimes!I look forward in working with him on another project of mine and will definitely refer him to my family and friends when they need some work done. Although he is a master at exhausts, I think he would serve better in a management capacity. Shame to see all that talent go untapped. Great work ethic and I could see him flourish as an instructor or master tech. Thanks again Alex! Hope to see you soon.

I always have a great experience at Velazquez. As someone who doesn t know much about cars, taking my vehicle in for repairs always makes me nervous. I have definitely been taken advantage of before at other repair spots. Not this one. These business owners and auto mechanics are honest and fair and quick at what they do.
