I have a 72 Chevelle SS With a Built Motor that was passed down from my great grandfather all the way down to me. One day I was cruising down Eden s, and my car stopped shifting gears, I pulled to the side and realized my car wouldn t drive. I got the car towed from there to my house and it sat for a couple weeks, while calling different transmission shops. I was very depressed for a while, until I called TramCar. Carey made me feel very welcomed, and Junior got my car towed from my house all the way to his shop. He walked me through what happened and explained how it went bad. They gave a very good and reasonable price compared to other shops I called. They worked a price with me, a very good one indeed, and got me rolling in a week. My car is an old school classic gem, and many shops refused to work on it, and were giving me overpriced estimates. I cannot thank these guys at Tramcar more, I recommend this shop to anyone looking to have their car worked on/ Fixed. Thanks once again Junior and Carey.

If I could give this place negative stars I honestly would. I have lived in this neighborhood for 25 years and try my best to support local businesses. This man Junior is a crook. First he recommended a tow company to me to have my vehicle towed to his shop then he tries to extort me for money. His words exactly it s 1500 dollars for labor and I don t know how much the parts are gonna be when no work has been done to my vehicle yet. Then when I tell him no thank you I will call other places he becomes belligerent and starts to belittle me over the phone and let s not even talk about the damage that was done to my vehicle by who knows who because all of a sudden everyone has amnesia and no one knows which tow company it was or when the vehicle arrived and Junior was very aggressive pretending he was going to fight me. I couldn t leave the shop fast enough. PLEASE PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES I PRAY YOU DONT EXPERIENCE WHAT I WENT THROUGH. I m glad it just cost me a broken bumper and my transmission instead of a 9000 bill once Junior was done working on it Please shop around and AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COST.

These guys repaired the transmission on my Ford E350 in 3 or 4 days, since then I've put about 80k miles on it and it feels great! I take it in for regular check ups before long trips and they are always happy to take a look and give me the green light. Their mechanics have been there over ten years, that says a lot. Highly recommended.

TRAMCAR is definitely the shop you need if you're having transmission issues. Give them a call and bring your car in without hesitation. They exude professionalism, experience, and deep knowledge.I bought a used car that started having transmission issues the day after I brought it home from the dealer. I gave TRAMCAR a call, they were able to look at my car right away, diagnose the issue, and explain it in an easy to understand way. I was able to take their findings back to my car dealership, who then worked to resolve the issue. While I didn't have TRAMCAR perform the work on my vehicle this time, I have absolute confidence in them. They'll be my first call when/if I need transmission work in the future.

I had an emergency break down on the highway, and I was panicked about my car I knew it was a transmission problem. I called a lot of shops in Chicago and a lot of them were giving me 7000$+ estimates without even looking at the car. I called TramCar Transmission and spoke to them, and Junior got my car towed for free with his service. My car was fixed within a week, and Junior and Carey, were very lenient with the pricing and helped me workout a great price. My Car Runs like a dream and better than before. I would recommend this shop to anybody in Chicago, Carey and Junior are very welcoming. Thanks a lot once again.

I took my 2010 Honda Accord to a local shop and they confirmed to me that my transmission was out and they don t do transmissions. I had my boyfriend call Tramcar and he spoke to Jr who told him it s $1500 in labor and then whatever parts it ll need. I used my one free tow from my insurance to have my car towed to Tramcar; Jr calls me after my car has been there for over 24 hrs and tells me that it s a transmission issue. I knew that already so I asked how much with parts; this man says oh we need to take it apart to look and see what s wrong with it but it s a $1500 down payment (non refundable) . So my mother and father spoke to Jr and basically told him how is it he can t give a ball park of an estimate? We have to trust you with $1500 and then cross our fingers and hope that the parts you need won t cost me more than my car is worth? Jr said I d need to pay the $1500 and after he looks at it and tells me what parts it needs with pricing then I can choose to go forward with them. So basically I can pay him $1500 and if my parts cost me more than my car is worth, I still lose out on $1500. It was a gamble my family and I weren t willing to risk because $1500 is a lot of money to lose out on. Jr. gets into an argument with my mother and father over the phone (we were on three way with Jr) because Jr was highly offended by them asking questions and being confused about the $1500 down payment and also the fact that he didn t even check to see what s wrong with it. It resulted with Jr demanding I get a tow truck to get my car out of there and he hung up. Jr calls me back to speak to me only and I tried to apologize for their argument. Jr boldly made comments about my mother and says business is great this won t affect my shop . Even still I tried to remain cordial with him. I arranged for a tow truck to get my vehicle and take it to another shop and I gave a courtesy call to Jr to let him know and he said okay. Minutes later the tow truck driver contacted Jr and told him he ll be there at 4pm and all of a sudden Jr states he is closing today at 3pm when his hours are till 5:30. I call Jr and his attitude is disgusting and he s refusing to put my key under the mat so a tow truck can pick it up. I mention to him how his website says they close at 5:30 and he replies well today I m closing it at 3 . This sad excuse of a man wanted to inconvenience me so bad even though I remained respectful to him and he got into his little feelings that he tried to keep my vehicle overnight so I can pay an overnight charge. YEAH OKAY. My uncle who is also a police officer went and successfully got my vehicle for me. It s 4:47pm and I had my boyfriend call the shop and he spoke to Jr himself and he asked him I thought the shop closed at 3pm today . Shows how disgusting Jr is and what he represents. I live in the neighborhood and will let everyone know how Jr runs his daddy s little scam shop.It s a day later and wanted to edit this review and say that the shop I ended up taking it to said MY TRANSMISSION IS FINE, ITS MY AXEL!Today is two days later and both my axels were replaced by another shop and my car is running great. Tramcar should be embarrassed, Jr knew my transmission was fine but said I had an issue with it without telling me what the actual issue was and for me to find out I had to give $1500 NONREFUNDABLE. And the whole time my transmission was fine. Tramcar specializes in transmissions but couldn t figure out that mine was fine and it was my axle? Either you guys are scammers or you don t know what you re doing. I m so thankful you guys didn t scam me, you guys should also be thankful for that as well.

From the first minute of conversation about repairing our 2012 Suburu Impreza 's transmission, Junior made me feel I had made the correct decision calling Tramcar. He understood the problem as well as making me feel confident that we would not have to worry about the costs getting out of control. He even offered to pick up our car for no extra fee. They fixed the issues at a very affordable price and got our car back to us in a few days. The car runs great and I am grateful to Tramcar for our experience. In a time when you just dont know who you can trust, i feel wehave found our family mechanic from now on.

Excellent service don't believe any the reviews you see here. That are bad !!! These people are the greatest in the world All they want to do is fix your car right Trust me, they just took care of my sister and didn't charge her one dime she had a lose bolt on her breaks someone else did the work best team we have ever seen in Chicago Definitely very helpful

Brought my 1995 Mercedes Benz to tramcar transmission. No one wanted to fix my car in Chicago. This was a sentimental value to me and tramcar transmission put my car back into the greatest shape ever I ve been to a lot of shops and no one gave me service like tramcar transmission. Definitely recommend to deal with abraham cary or Junior. And this place was definitely affordable and showed me everything they don t hide nothing from customers at all show u everything for you to understand your car

Horrible experience/ horrible customer service. They thought they could make quick money by charging an outrageous amount for a non refundable deposit and then NOT tell me what the issue was to begin with. And then when I went to get my vehicle they refused to release my car because they were upset I wasn t moving forward with repairs. I do not recommend.

Do NOT take your car here unless you want to be forced into repairs. Upon calling they "suggest" that they see it in person. Then they call and tell you it needs work and when asking for an estimate they will tell you a high amount and Force you to get the job done stating they already pulled the engine/ transmission. It's a con. Paid over $4k+ for a job another place said would be $2k max. Their tactic are slimy at best. Not even sure the car ran better but I know I'd never go back here. I called them 2 times after to see if th y changed but 100% their game to h y changed out in, pull trans for a free inspection, and Force the work on you.

Awesome, honest, and straightforward dudes. I needed mybtrans fluid refilled after I made a dumb mistake changing my oil and they took me in right away. Didn't even charge me. And it was 3 quarts of synthetic fluid. Thanks guys!

I brought my sons car to Tramcar for transmission problems. Junior was very helpful and explained what needed to be done. They looked my car over and found a few minor things wrong and fixed them along with the transmission, Junior and the guys at the shop did a great job.I would highly recommend them to fix your car.

Brought one of our cars here. They did a really great gob on all the services, they made us feel like family.One of their guys even cut his lunch break short to help get us on our way, changing out some tailblight bulbs on our other car.These guys are great and even though we are from Bolingvrook, we will bring our cars to them again.They offer solid warranties to back up all their work.Services: Transmission, Exhaust

Had two transmissions done by tramcar both cars still going and it s been years i just Ran on to a issue with my work truck and thought of the great service tramcar did for us and we ll they took well good care of me and my work truck highly recommend tramcar

Thought my 2002 Cadillac's embarrassing oil leak was something I just had to live with because it was too big of a job to fix. However, Junior and the team at Tramcar confidently took care of it and I am so pleased :) I received a warranty and service was provided with the utmost courtesy. They are truly impressive and I will be going back.
