If you're wondering where the honest people in this world have gone, well I found some at Quality Transmission & Auto Service, On 6144 W. Irving Park Rd. I stopped in today knowing that I had transmission fluid leaking, worried about a high price repair, Alex Hernandez welcomed me as I entered his shop. He was able to look at my car on the spot after about 35 minutes or so. He told me it was just a loose plug (bolt), and he also showed it to me. He had tightened it and added 3 bottles of trans. fluid. He did not charge me for his time, labor, or fluid. He could have easily charged me and / or told me I was in need of a major repair. Thank you, Alex. You now have a new customer when I need work to my cars, and I will refer you to my friends and family.

Left my car here and one of the employees informed me that I would hear from them in 2 hours. Didn t hear from them until the next day and still didn t get a quote. Lousy Communication and service. Wouldn t recommend. Also, response from the owner was very unprofessional.

They said they fixed the problem the first time I took it there. They didn t. Took it back. They kept my vehicle for 3 weeks and didn t touch it until a few days before I picked it up. The guy would never call me for updates. Never filled me in unless I called him. I was constantly calling them and they rarely answer.Now my truck is messed up again and it s THE SAME PROBLEM that they said they originally fixed twice and didn t. So now I m taking it somewhere else because this is the third time with the same problem. Don t go here unless you want to waste your time, money and have to chase after someone for answers.Service: Transmission

My girlfriend had work done here. We went through Mike, he went above and beyond towing her car to his shop and getting the work done ASAP with quality work. I felt confident by his professional manners dealing with us! Prices were VERY reasonable! Would highly recommend Mike and his shop to all, from now on. Very trustworthy!

These guys were reliable, honest and extremely professional. My transmission went out on me while on a country wide road trip and they helped me get on my way! Although it too some time (which rebuilding a transmission does) my van is back to being reliable and ready. Sal and Mike both worked with me on price and small details. Honest mechanic are the best mechanics!! Everything was explained and laid out and no shady behavior!

They put a terrible transmission to my Mini Cooper, they kept fixing it in a 3 year period, they kept my car for months every time the trans was failing, and that happened at least 4 times I told them multiple times to return my money. They didn t do that, I lost over 4K and had to sell my car eventually. Be careful, these people are trash.

You are in great hands here! Great prices paired with great service. They replaced my transmission, radiator and air conditioning at an amazing price and quality work - highly recommend, especially over going to a dealer. Mike is a stand up guy who will take care of you.

Let me tell you about my experience at Quality Transmission.Initially I dropped my car off at a different Transmission shop that was closer to my house. After having my car for nearly two full days, they told me I need my catalytic converter replaced and my transmission completely rebuilt. I was a little skeptical and didn't really buy into what they were telling me. So I wanted a second opinion. I googled Transmission Auto Shops and found Quality Transmission and Auto Repair shop with a TON of positive feedback from their customers. So I called and scheduled an appointment with Frank. Frank and his team did a complete inspection of my car and called me right away with the results. He told me they tested my transmission and it was completely fine however my catalytic converter did need to be replaced. After the catalytic converter was replaced my car ran like new! He saved me over $1,500 and only charged a very fair price for the catalytic converter.I can't say enough good things about Frank and his team at Quality Transition and Auto Repair shop. He honestly goes over and beyond to keep his customers happy. I can honestly say that I trust him and his team and I will use him in the future.Thank you Frank! You've been a big help! Know that your customers really appreciate everything you do for them!

Frank at Quality is awesome! I had my 2000 Saturn towed to Quality Trans. after it started giving me be problems. Frank was open and honest with me about how much the repairs would cost and let me know that in his opinion, it wasn't even worth putting that much into the car. I found that refreshing since most auto shops I have dealt with are just looking to make money! Frank told me that he would inspect any new car I was interested in buying and even gave me multiple call backs just to check up on the situation! Frank and his team at Quality really went above and beyond to take care of me and I will definitely be taking my new Mazda 6 there for any service I may need!

Great place to take your care for a check up ..transmission experts and we'll done job too.. highly recommend it. Very busy shop and the wait is worth it when you leave your vehicle for repair

Frank and Mike have really provided some really incredible customer service for my family and I. They really did a great job after my daughters jetta transmission broke down and even after problems after problems with finding a part that would work and taking down and putting up and taking down the transmission, they were persistent in getting the transmission fixed and not charging me an extra dime because of the problem. Great work, great auto shop and we will be taking our family cars there for a long time.Wally Z

I needed my transmission rebuilt and had to have it quick, as I needed my truck to pull my travel trailer on a planned family vacation. Quality had my truck ready in time and for a great price! Had no problems towing the R.V. or since. Highly recommended.

Mike the owner was very helpful. They initially replaced the TCM and then found out they also rebuild the transmission. He gave me discount on rebuild, and the car runs great now. Their communication is a bit lacking and they took a very long time to do the work, but they did the job right.

The transmission in my 1999 Honda Accord V6 finally gave out at 137000 miles. The Honda dealer nearby said they didn't do rebuilds and wanted around $3000 for a replacement. So I got a hold of Frank here over the weekend and dropped my car off on a Sunday night. They started working on it the next day and even though I was dumb and forgot to give them the key to my wheel locks, they got my trans rebuilt with no trouble in less than a work week. Great price and quality parts. Now the car feels better than when I first got it. Thanks to Frank and Tony!

Had my trans rebuilt. Had a few minor issues afterwards. One, had no reverse. Took it back and they are fixing the problem right away..no waiting. Mike and Sal are great guy's to do business with. Highly recommended.

Brought car in for possible transmission problem but was informed that it was not transmission but a wheel bearing that needed replacement. I let them perform the work because it was there. When I picked up the car the ABS sensor light was on for the wheel that had bearing replaced. Went back and mechanic said it was broken when I brought it in but I know that was not true because light was not on when I brought it in. I took it to my regular mechanic who replaced it for 160 and after replacement it continue to light so my mechanic took the bearing that was replaced out and found it was defective. He replaced it with a good bearing and both problems solved. I then called owner of Quality and he said I should have brought it back to him. I was only asking that he take the bad bearing he had put in and exfchange it for a good one so that I could get a refund from my mechanic for the part. He was unwilling to do it. I will tell all of my friends to stay away from this place. By the way I paid two times the price for the work they did that my mechanic said he would have charged.

Friendly, honest and reliable, finished the job quickly even though they were very busy. Did a free 24 point inspection for me with my oil change, topped off my fluids, didn't try to trick me into spending more money or doing unnecessary work. Cheaper than Jiffy Lube. I'd come back again and I would recommend them to anyone!

Thanks Sal and team at Irving park road quality transmission. I took my 2002 Toyota Rav 4 three weeks ago for the transmission to be rebuilt bc my vehicle was sounding strange, wasn't driving too well and wouldn't go into reverse. Another mechanic diagnosed it but the price he gave me was too much. I called and told Sal that I needed my trans to be rebuilt. He took the car infor and called me back with the price. I brought in my car on a Friday and on Tuesday I got a call that it was ready. I was so satisfied with the customer service and especially with the timely work bc I use my vehicle for work . From now Irving park Road quality transmission will be my mechanic. I recommend them to anybody without any doubt.

These guys were unprofessional and highly priced. For me to bring my car in to be fixed, and to walk out to drive my car for a little while, just to bring it back for having the same damn problem. I'm in shock they wouldn't even work with me.
