I recently found Private Volvo Mechanic after looking for some time to find a trust worthy person to work on our cars. They have been exactly what I've been looking for. Knows Volvos inside and out and it always very prompt in addressing my concerns. Would recommend to anyone who owns a Volvo. Won't be bringing my car to anyone else! Highly recommend!!

Perhaps the best mechanic I ever had. This was my first time visiting and i can say that Private Volvo Mechanic is amazing. Setting up an appointment was easy and the car was finished in less than 24hrs. The work was done in a timely fashion and for a very good price. I will definitely be going back.Flash forward 4 months after my brake install. I had a question about the rotors that were installed. I shot a text and got an instant response. Addressed my concern and reminded me I have a 1 year warranty. Man did he put me at ease.This guy is a great mechanic. And again I say this. I will definitely go back.Service: Brake service & repair

I found Ed in 2020 after other mechanics had (somewhat expensively!) failed to resolve a fuel leak with my 2004 S80. He instantly recognized that the issue was related to the unique design of Volvo fuel tanks and noted why previous repairs had failed--and then he fixed it all for a reasonable price and threw in a couple other quick fixes as well! Since then, he's helped me keep it on the road at 219,000 miles. He knows these cars inside and out, and always has good recommendations and advice. It was my first time using Private Volvo Mechanic. I did my 40k maintenance on my 2018 Volvo XC90. The mechnaic commuted very well with me about what that entailed. Plus, it cost me literally more than half the price of what the dealership was charging me. He is very professional and polite. I dropped off my car Saturday early evening, and he was done with it in less than 24 hours. I would highly recommend Private Volvo Mechanic if you own a Volvo and don't want to pay dealership prices. If you still have the remainder of your factory warranty, it will still remain intact since he is certified. I will be using him more often.Service: Auto maintenance

I have used Volvo Mechanic to service my Volvo S80 2007 twice already, last 09/2021 & 05/12/2022. and both times the Volvo technician have done a wonderful job fixing my car. Great customer service, easy scheduling, and he kept me informed of the progress of the job.A well experienced Volvo mechanic who were able to find the cause of the grinding sound when I press my break . And the sound coming from the fan /air conditioner. It is very difficult to find a mechanic at any service shop that specializes in Volvo repairs outside of a Volvo dealership. I found Private Volvo Mechanic on Yelp about four years ago. Since then I have taken my 2016 Volvo XC90 to him for all repairs. He is extremely knowledgeable, very detailed, and takes the time to explain things to me unlike other mechanics. He also suggests what repairs are needed before preventing further damage to my car, and what can wait. I appreciate his honesty. I have recommended him to a few friends who own Volvos, and they all agree he is a very honest, knowledgeable and fair mechanic. He has saved me thousands of dollars by doing repairs privately instead of through the dealership. If you're like me, you take a lot of pride in keeping your Volvo running as best as it possibly can, but you've found it difficult to find a high-quality mechanic whom you can trust implicitly and have great confidence in both their advice and their work. Well I'm here to tell you that the search is over!Private Volvo Mechanic provides incredible Volvo-certified (and Volvo SPECIFIC) service at prices far more affordable than you would ever see at a dealership's service center. If you own a Volvo and live within a convenient distance, you should ABSOLUTELY be going to Private Volvo Mechanic. Hell, even if I moved far away from the NW side, I would make it a point to travel to PVM to let them take care of my car. I'm telling you, they're that good.The service is always speedy and reliable, scheduling is a breeze, and they are very, very friendly and enjoyable to work with. A super professional shop that also offers traveling mechanic services, so if your Vo just won't go, they'll come to you to get you back on the road.If i could give it six starts, I would!

Private Volvo Mechanic is fantastic. It can certainly feel risky taking your car to a non-volvo mechanic, but I ve had better service with him than Volvo themselves. He is friendly, responsive and trustworthy. He is also extremely knowledgeable and has always taken considerable time talking to me about my vehicle and making me feel comfortable every step of the way. I have a 2017 XC 90 and been going to Him now for 2 years

I've had a fantastic experience with Private Volvo Mechanic. I bought a used XC60 from a local dealership, and after receiving huge quotes and questionable service from them, I looked into an independent mechanic to take over. I saw the listings for Private Volvo Mechanic, and was skeptical before we met, but I've received prompt, affordable, and high quality service with every visit. I've trusted him with a power steering leak and new brakes and rotors, along with other routine maintenance. He takes the time to explain all current and future maintenance, and there is no pressure to pay for needless work. I will return for the life of my vehicle.

This was one of my best experiences with any mechanic. He has a real in-depth knowledge of Volvo's and a passion for fixing them up. Service was far better than the dealership and prices were better too. He took the time to walk me through my car's diagnostic and show me what needed to be fixed and why. I would recommend Private Volvo Mechanic to anyone and I will be bringing my other Volvo's here soon!Thank you!

I ve used Private Volvo mechanic before and will continue to use as long as I own my Volvo. His knowledge and honesty is refreshing. He tells you like it is. More or less I knew what my issue was but once he checked it over, gave me a complete run down of problems he encountered and what I needed to get it fix. I have an XC90 and it was a bit sluggish when I brought it in. I left feeling confident; my vehicle was back to how it was running when I first purchase it. If you want great service, quality of work, honesty and great price, I highly recommend you taking your vehicle to private Volvo mechanic. You will not regret it!

I m a testament that all the reviews are accurate. Our cars are older and we had a lot of work done. Driving an older Volvo with the confidence of driving a newer one is so reassuring. Wow, am I ever glad I found Private Volvo Mechanic!After 10 years of owning my 2008 Volvo v50, I finally wised up and decided I was done overpaying the dealer for service and feeling like I was being upsold every time I took the car in for a simple oil change. With a little help from Google, I found Private Volvo Mechanic, read all the great reviews, then set an appointment for scheduled factory maintenance (basically, a tune up and oil change).PVM performed the scheduled service, but didn't stop there. He ALSO replaced a front sway bar link, burned-out license plate and brake light bulbs, fixed a leak in the sunroof, and installed new front brake pads �ALL for LESS than my Volvo dealer had quoted me to perform JUST the scheduled factory maintenance!This guy is the man! He's trustworthy, friendly and loves working on Volvos. And you can tell he's eager to build a long-term relationship with his customers. If you own a Volvo, the best thing you could do is get in on this "secret." You will not be disappointed.

I have been taking my Volvos here since 2014. I will never go to a dealer. Responsive, honest, and fair prices. You cannot believe how lucky you are if you have a Volvo to have a mechanic like this in the area.Fantastic and trustworthy. Do NOT bother with a dealer!

I'm sure this guy is an awesome mechanic. I gave three stars only because I did not utilize his services. My review is to inform that he charges more for labor than the Volvo dealer, $180/hr.

My xc90 has been plagued with a recurring check engine light which multiple mechanics have not been able to fix. On a recent drive from Boston to Chicago, the dreaded error codes popped up again in the foothills of NY. Since I had already had the car serviced for the same codes unsuccessfully 4x, I wanted to go to someone who knows their volvos inside and out. This mechanic was totally exceeded my expectations. He was able to fit me in on short notice, check over my car in person with me to determine what services were required vs recommended, diagnose and fix my check engine light issue, and perform regular maintenance as well for a very reasonable price. We had a timing belt replaced on a c30. Some places we emailed/called never even responded. This mechanic texted me back in minutes. Great price, super honest, and extremely nice. You don't see this much in this industry. Also, you can pretty much pick/drop off the car almost anytime.

All around, by far the best mechanic I've ever encountered. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my Volvo. I highly recommend him for all the best reasons, you will never be disappointed.

No nonsense, upselling here. My issues were identified and repaired properly at the stated price. Future repairs were discussed, but not pressured. I will definitely return as required to keep my Volvo fleet going. Thanks!

Excellent consultation on exactly what needed to be done on my 2009 S40, why and when. Excellent communication and execution of the work. Very easy drop-off an pick-up of the car. Will most definitely be using him again.

Private Volvo mechanic is the best. Best work ethic, best prices, most honest, very personable. Old volvos are expensive to maintain but is affordable with Private Volvo Mechanic
