Had a fantastic experience at Milito s Auto Repair! I had rat issues in my engine and it was way too difficult to handle it myself. These guys did such an amazing job fixing it up and left my engine and entire car sparkling at the end of it. They also installed an ultrasonic device to prevent future rat infestations. My engine hasn t looked this good since I bought the car 2 and a half years ago.Jay-Jay was really great to deal with and made me a very happy customer.Service: Engine repair

Jay Jay is the best! Although they don t do body work there, Jay Jay helped me negotiate a price to get some body work done at another shop and they did a great job. It was $500-$1000 cheaper than other shops I got quotes from. I ll definitely be taking my car here for all maintenance work going forward!

We had a great experience. We had damage to the coolant system and needed to replace the radiator along with coolant pipes. They were very knowledgeable, ordered the parts immediately and turned the car around in less than 48 hours

I have several cars and will not allow another shop to work on any of them. They do great work, are trustworthy, and every team member is incredibly friendly. Great cutomer service all around. Whether getting gas, routine maintanance, or having an emergency situation pop up...I know JJ and team will get it done right.

If I could give this place a rating lower than 1 star, I would. Horrible place that scams for parts and wastes your time. They are horrible at communicating and overcharge on diagnostics fees. They should take an ethics test, although they might fail. The mechanics here are incredibly arrogant they determined the part they put on was installed backwards. Not knowledgeable. They are going to say that they have no phone records of my name nor record of car issue to get my review flagged. I already know... SMH

Complete scam artists. Had2 wheels stolen off my car on a Saturday night come to drive my car Sunday morning and I have to get it towed to a shop. Almost all mechanics are closed on Sunday within the uptown area. Militos was open so I really had no other choice. Have them order me 2 rims and tires. Charges me $600 per rim and says thats what he gets them for at market price and that he was not making any money off of the rims . After some back and fourth on the phone he offers to give me his suppliers number and actually reveals that he got the rims for about $475 a piece, On top of that, there is a charge on my invoice for 8 locking lug nuts and 2 regular lug nuts (if you know anything about locking lug nuts you know this is completely backwards.) The funniest part is there are zero locking lug nuts on my car at the moment. On top of lying about the price of the tires he also tried to charge my almost double the amount of money that the regular lug nuts I received, should have cost. They will try to charge you almost double what any other reputable shop would charge.

Got new brakes and they squeaked - took them back in and after discussing with them about the cause, they re-did all pads and rotors and were wonderful to work with!

Very disappointed and scammed for parts. I asked them to repair my ball joints. I was at a jiffy lube and my car was making noises. The guy there said I need new ball joints. I took it to the mechanic here. They did a diagnosis. Then a guy called me. He said my ball joints don t look too bad but they had some normal wear and tear. He said they would grease them up for good measure but the real issue was my brake oh okay, that s probably a cheaper fix then a ball joints issue. Great! I did think it was weird though since jiffy lube replaces brakes and why wouldn t the guy there just replace them. Anyways, I come into the shop and look at the sheet that had notes about my car. It recommended that I had my ball joints replaced. This is very different from normal wear and tear . Part of me thought, I just screwed. But lack of better judgement, I disregarded it since my car was running better, not perfect, but better. I still occasionally heard the noise when I steered but it wasn t nearly as bad. Thanks for the lube I guess. Anyways, some months later and my cars ball joint blows out. And now I need to get a tow. Thanks for the screw over. Didn t fix what was needed and fixed an easier job instead. Smh

Been there multiple times, and always a super-friendly / local business feel when I go. This morning my "check engine" light came on. I didn't have an appointment, but I just pulled up and JayJay was able to diagnose it, confirm with a computer that is was an errant sensor, and had me on my way in 5 minutes. Pleasantly: no charge (although of course I tipped him to say thanks). Very similar to the service I've received from there a couple of times before - they seem extremely fair and honest, and thus have never felt overcharged or anything like that at all. Would definitely recommend them.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Great, fast service. They ve always been honest and straightforward regarding what is needed. They always call before performing the service and have advised which items are easy to do separately to save some money.

**WARNING-- this place will NOT finish the job and will still overcharge you**I needed to bring in my car to have the bumper grill and the side mirror turn signal light strip replaced, both of which I had already bought the replacement parts for. I received a quick response via email and was quoted $189. I brought it in and was told I would have the car back that day.The next day at noon, after not receiving any call from them, I called myself to find out that my car was ready. Slightly annoyed, I went to pick it up. The total ended up being $220. But I thought, "fine, at least it's done."But it wasn't. I went to get my car and the side mirror hadn't even been touched, even though I had provided them the replacement part. I was late for work though so instead of going back in and dealing with the CS person I would have to take care of it via email. After asking for an explanation via email though, I never received a response. So they thought it was perfectly acceptable to only do half the job and yet charge me $30 more than I was quoted. Do NOT bring your car here. You're going to get ripped off somehow.Services: Side view mirror repair, Auto body & trim replacement

I originally came to Milito s in a scramble to get a service check for 100,000 miles before I headed out of town for the holidays. On the way there I realized I heard squealing on my brakes, and when I got there I mentioned this. I said take a look and let me know if there s anything you can do or how bad or is if you can t or don t have time to fix it. They assured me they would do all they could to make sure I was back on the road with a safe vehicle. They called me later that day to tell me how bad my front brakes were, along with a couple other items. I told them to fix it all and they did! Not only that, but I needed the car back by 10am the next day to grab my sister from the airport. They did all of this within less than 24 hours. Amazing service, friendly staff, and working in a crunch timeline. 100% recommend.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

This review is a few years late. (But wanted to share my experience from being a mechanic myself, with an emergency repair). Stuck on a Sunday in Chicago with a throttle body cooling hose leak (and by leak the hose completely broke from being brittle with age). Milito's was about a mile away. I was able to use all my bottled water in my car to get it there without overheating. The Mechanic was great, and friendly. He explained to me what the repair involved. Being a mechanic myself, I felt he was spot on of what was needed for repair and their time estimate. (I would have quoted the approximate same). The repair was done a bit faster than expected, due to the engine being so hot to start working as quickly as he did. The labor price rate was a bit high in my opinion for scheduled work, but it also covers emergency work, such as what I needed. For that, I feel their price was completely fair. I would definitely recommend this business for auto repair. The few extra $$ for scheduled work is a piece of mind for the honesty and accuracy of the repair. Anyone looking for a place to service their vehicle, I would recommend Milito's.Service: General repairs & maintenance

They charged upwards of $100 for a cabin air filter replacement which costs about $15 and takes about 3 minutes. Feel free to use that as an indicator of how fair their pricing is. Other reviewers seem to have had a similar experience with pricing here. Not positive whether this was their fault or not, but my splash guard came loose after their service. Definitely never coming back

Don't come to this shop.Brought the car for a check engine light issue and rough idling, the mechanic ran the diagnostic and determine it needed a new coil and new spark-plugs, went to pick up the car, paid 730 usd for the work , start the engine and the issue was still there. Left the car for 2 more days at their shop and they did not do anything, saying I should try going to the dealership. I had to call the service manager several times during the day to know what the status was because he was not getting back to me.Service: Auto engine tuning

My wife was traveling from Michigan to Wisconsin when her alternator died in Chicago. Milito's was the only place I could find that could work on it on a Sunday. I cannot express how grateful I am for the service and help they provided. Elizabeth the service manager was great to work with and clearly explained the timeline to me. They communicated well with my wife and were able to make the repair in a few hours. Thanks to them my wife and kids were able to make it back home that night saving us the stress of having to find lodging or other transportation. The cost of the repair was also reasonable and fair. I would highly recommend.Service: Electrical repair

I was in a bind and needed a tire replacement last minute. Not only did they accommodate my tight window, but they did a wonderful job! Jay was incredibly helpful and kind. The service was affordable, quick, and well-done. They included a car wash and detailed the inside of my car. Thank you!Service: TiresService: Tires

Super nice people! I had a nail in my tire and they fixed it right away in <20 minutes. Their car washing service is also very convenient but can get busy and have a line.

We love utilizing Milito's for any car repair needs we have because of their top notch knowledge and customer service. The mechanic are very easy to talk to about any issue you are experiencing, and they are usually able to accommodate a quick repair the same day. I love having a neighborhood repair shop I can trust and who has served us well without feeling like we were being taken advantage of.Services: Brake service & repair, Oil change

I live in Florida and my daughter just moved to Chicago. Her Jeep would not start, and I was a little far to come jump it. I called a few places and Milito s came to the rescue. They were pleasant to deal with on the phone, met my daughter at 9:00 pm to jump start it and let her follow back to the shop to leave to get fixed the next day. Great service!!!Services: Brakes, Battery

I don t think I ve ever left a negative review for something so minor, but here goes nothing Let s set the scene. It s a very cold January evening, close to zero degrees in fact, maybe the coldest day of the year so far. I had brought my car to Milito s earlier in the day for an oil change. They asked if I d also like the fluids topped off and a car wash prior to returning the car. I said no to the former (this is important) and asked for a coupon for the latter. All is good, they will call when the work is done. The tech happened to call shortly after I left, confirming that I only needed an oil change and wouldn t be replacing either of the air filters. He did not ask about topping off the fluids.Later on, I receive another call to inform me that my service was completed and the car is ready for pickup. I ll be picking it up later that night.I return to pickup my car and upon receiving the invoice I notice a $1.31 charge for 1/4qt of windshield washer fluid. That s odd - I asked specifically for the fluids not to be topped off. I asked the person working the desk about the charge, noting that I did not ask for that service, in fact I explicitly denied it.Rather than removing the $1.31 charge, or even checking their service notes, she insisted on having a tech drain the 1/4qt of windshield washer fluid from my car, which was already parked in the street and ready to go. I again clarified that she couldn t simply remove it, and given that it was late, practically zero degrees and I d rather be doing anything else than waiting for 1/4qt of windshield washer fluid to be drained from my car, I reluctantly accepted the charge and left with my car.I wouldn t typically complain about something like this, especially having used Milito s in the past, but this was ridiculous. Milito s is only convenient because of their close proximity to the train, but that doesn t make up for the higher costs or poor service.

Way overpriced. I asked them to do oxygen sensor change, Milito's quote me 3 hours of work, $500-ish cost. I went to another shop to get the same job done, quoted $150 for labor and job well done. You definitely want to quote around. Milito's is expensive $$$$$.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The team at Milito's is very dependable, honest, and get the job done fast. I've gone there twice for auto repairs and each time has been great. My most recent visit was to fix an issue with my exhaust system. Jose was exceptional to work with as he provided two options, his recommendation, and provided an honest opinion on the repair when it came to cost that helped saved me $800. Definitely would recommend.

Jay was great! A piece had fallen off the front of our car (didn't even know that could happen - thought it was all one piece!). I brought the piece in and asked if it could be fixed. 5 minutes after checking in, without an appointment, they took my car in, peeled off the cardboard and duck tape I had put on, bolted the piece back in, offered to fix a fog light that was out and I was out the door in about 15 minutes! Jay was super nice and the price was good too. Highly recommend Milito's. The only bad part is... while you are waiting, you sit right in front of the candy counter - haha! Of course, I had a Reese's!Service: Body & Trim

Like some of the other reviews mentioned, this place is insanely expensive for minor work. I was referred here by a friend. When my elderly dad put the wrong key in the door which caused it to jam, I wasn t able to pull it out myself so I decided to bring the car into Milito s. They told me they d call for an estimate before doing any work but they went ahead and did the work without providing an estimate first. It took them a little more than an hour to get it out, with labor costs about $150/hr, I could ve gone to some other place in the suburb I usually go. I d avoid coming here at all cost if you have other options, not worth it to pay for the convenience.

Great ServiceI've been going to Milito's now for about 2 years with my 2003 Taurus. The staff has always been very courteous and professional at each and every service. I think their prices are sometimes a little high but they totally stand behind their work. A few problems a year or so ago were quickly taken care of. Tows when needed were covered at no extra cost.A Great repair shop with great guys. 5 stars to Jose and JJ especially. Thanks guys but hope not to see you again for a long time...well ok 3 month oil change but hopefully nothing else.

Thank you to Milito's for making the best of these challenging times with pickup and delivery of my vehicle...twice. I recently "visited" Milito's to have my brakes and filters replaced and oil change and when the car was first brought to me, there was a miscommunication and they did not complete the oil change portion. While it was really frustrating at the time, I appreciate that they took the car back, completed the work and brought it back to me. They quickly accepted responsibility, apologized for the oversight and made it right by completing the work and making up for the issue. They did a great and cost-effective job and look forward to visiting again soon.Services: Auto interior vacuuming, Oil change

I went here for scheduled maintenance. After they worked on it I noticed a new sound that I haven't heard from my car before. So I went back and waited if they could figure out where the sounds was coming from. After waiting 3 hours Jose was at first unable to find the spice of the rattling sound. But he suggested we go on a test drive so confirm we were hearing the same sounds.During our test drive we spoke of the possible causes of the sound. During our discussion Jose gave another suggestion and he was right.I am impressed how Jose was able to find a solution. He was very respectful, polite and explained things clearly. Much respect for the hardworking staff.

I ve been going to Milito s for about a year and thought they were reliable and trustworthy to use as a mechanic for someone who knows next to nothing about cars. After recently getting a quote from them for a repair that was way out of my budget, I checked around for what other shops would charge for the same work. Turns out that most other places would do it for exactly half the price. Not only that, once I got my car in to another shop they discovered that none of the work that Milito s was going to do was actually necessary and the work that did need to be done was less than an hour and required no new parts- just cleaning and resetting something in the engine - literally saving me $700 from what Milito s had quoted. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Milito s and I would recommend anyone who does go there to call around before paying for anything.
