This place is a hidden Gem on the Southside of Chicago!!! I stopped on my way home while following a detour off my main route. I saw a like model car in the parking lot so I stopped to see if they could service mine. They assured me they could and actually took a minute to hear about the steering problem I was having. I brought it back for a more closer look and they took my info. I followed up and they let me know what was wrong plus some other things. It took a minute to source the parts but once done it s the bests it s been driving in years. He was honest about when he could take it and when he could get back each time. He s fair and ligit. Great service. Great guy. Great price.

I had stopped taking my car to Melbar due to long delays and lack of professionalism.. Now with new mechanics Im definitely coming back! Marlin and his team took good care of me and had my car car fixed within a week! The service and professionalism is superb! Thank you Marlin!

I don't typically take the time to write reviews but I felt like Leroy really went above and beyond for me so I wanted to share my experience. A friend had given me their old car that hadn't been driven in a few months, and I'm planning on driving it 9 hours from Chicago to Toronto. Therefore, before getting on the road I brought it to Melbar Foreign Cars, to see what general repairs needed to be done, get an oil change, have the brakes, belt and tires checked. I ended up needing a new serpentine belt, an oil change and new front and rear brakes. This was all done in a timely manner and for a really reasonable price (I know nothing about cars but shared the quote with a friend that does before proceeding to have work done, and was told that the price was more than fair). Leroy asked me to return a day or two before my journey just to give the car one more look before I went, which I thought was extremely thoughtful gesture. I went back this afternoon and Leroy gave the car a spin, checked under the hood, and put my new license plates on the car for me all at no extra charge. I highly recommend Melbar Foreign cars. If they are working on a car they aren't near the phone so it may take a few rings to reach them, but it's well worth it.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

I was recommended to Melbar, because I like dealing with local mechanics versus to standard commercial dealership service centers. I called several times over a 2 day span and no one ever answered. The answer machine was full. So, I could only imagine that the reviews of communication are true. I'll pass!

I have a BMW X6 that was brought to them for brakes. When he fixed the brakes they were still squeaking so he suggested changing the rotors. changed the rotors and they were still squeaking. Then he suggested changing pads and rotors at the same time and they are still squeaking. Instead of trying to save a Buck I should have just taken it to the BMW dealer which is what I m going to do since they are still squeaking. Also the person who worked on my truck tell you a day and time to come and he don t show up for work nor does he answer his phone or return calls. They do not have to worry about me asking for their service ever again. They are the epitome of poor service.Service: Brakes

Yes, Mr. Leroy will do you right! He does have lot of business so. It would help if you have an alternate car while he works on yours if it involves engine, electrical or other issues. Great Jamaican work ethic! His staff helped untangle my seat belts for less than the Nisan Dealer!
