A bit of mixed reviews about Luu. I brought in my 92 Miata in hopes of getting the rust repaired and to stop future rust from happening. The rust had formed in the fender rocker section (hole) and underlying area (bubbling) of the rear rocker below the quarter panel. My grandpa who knew Mr Luu, spoke with him and said that Mr Luu would be the one taking care of my car personally to stop any future rust there is to come. That means deep cutting and welding of new metal. I was pretty happy to hear that from them and they quoted me $2000 for the repair. Unfortunately while waiting for the repair to be done, I recieved word that Mr Luu fell ill and wouldn't be able to take care of the repair due to his health. He then passed on my car to his techs who I also entrusted but wasn't exactly confident since Mr Luu has had more experience with my type of car since it was an older model. The 92 Miata comes with a Unibody chassis which means that if you cut out a piece of the rocker, it would need to be replaced with new metal unlike newer cars where it's just a seperate piece and would be more ideal and affordable to bondo and fiberglass the section when cut. When I got my car back, I'm not gonna lie, it looked pretty good from a glance. Everything lined up well, it wasn't perfect but it's alot better than if I were to have done it. They also repaired my front bumper as well but since the body of my car was older paint, the bumper was a bit darker (mismatched) but I assumed that's just difference in faded paint vs fresh paint. Upon closer feel and inspection, via tapping and pressing of the repaired rust spots, the sound that the area of repair produced when tapping vs the areas that weren't affect had a different tone. Something that you would get from a softer material. I assumed since Mr Luu's sickness was sudden, he wasnt able to communicate with his techs in detail of the repair and they probably ended up patching the area with Bondo and fiberglass instead of patching new steel upon it. I assumed that what they did was put new metal in for the fender rocker area and since the rear was a patch rust developing, they sanded it off and fiberglassed it with bondo. I have yet to jack up the car and taken a look for it myself personally for closer inspection but when I do I'll update the review here or on yelp .Overall, I chose Luu since he has helped out my family for decades and so I thought I'd given him a try.If you wanted something more for looks, his techs are phenomenal but if you are looking to replace pitted metal and structural integraties, I advise speaking with Mr Luu directly. I plan on speaking with Luu personally to see if he can keep his word and fix the areas properly if my car shows signs of bubbled rust or failure in repair. But overall my car looks good, hopefully it holds well and doesn't cause further rust.I do however, felt as if I overpaid for his techs' work. I wouldn't mind paying $2000 for Luu to handle it himself directly but since his techs took over, I felt as if I had overpaid by $700. We'll see

YOU TALK ABOUT BUDDHA, YOU BRING UP BUDDHA, to make you feel like you are really kind ? BUT YOU ACT DIFFERENTLY .SHAME ON YOU.I wish my insurance has chosen the body shop for me.It is a BIG MISTAKE I HAD MADE .We got hit and run for the second time .The first time we went to another body shop they were so nice, but it is far.This time we got recommended to this body shop near our house.After experiencing it, this is a place YOU WILL BE ROBBED in daylightMy brother is still going to school so he doesn't have that much money,he asks for help about deductible most of body shop they help you that .Like the first one we went.It is funny and surprising me for the first time we talked with the owner of this body shop. He talks about Buddha and he lives until this age bla..bla... Buddha doesn't teach him to do that.After that, he said okay, he will help everything and talk to our insurance. Don't worry about that.Hello ! I ASK YOU TO FIX THE CAR NOT TO LEARN ABOUT BUDDHA and Vietnam CommunismThen my brother brought the car to the shop and showed him what happened to the car, even the scratch before the accident.After 2 weeks,the car is done for fixing.The owner call my brother come to pick up the car and he said on the phone "Does my brother want to pay an extra $300 for him to fix a scratch and something else before the accident(my brother has showed him before and he said dont worry). NOW He said it is not included in the claim.THEN He gave my brother 2 options:Option 1: If you don't want to pay an extra $300, we don't fix it.Option 2 :You pay it , I fix for you.He asked my brother 3 TIMES, and my brother told him 3 TIMES that he chose option 1.Because it's not bothering him, and he dont want to waste money since he is still going to school.SURPRISED THE OWNER TOLD HIM.TELL YOUR SISTER TO PAY. HUH...WHAT...THE OWNER FORCED MY BROTHER TO CHOOSE OPTION 2.HE SAID HE NEEDS THAT MONEY TO PAY HIS WORKER AND SON.HE TOLD MY BROTHER THAT HE HELP HIM A LOT WHY IT'S ONLY $300 THEN HE SAID PAY HIM $200 HE FIX IT.HELLOOO ,YOU FIX MY BROTHER'S CAR, AND YOU GOT MONEY FROM MY INSURANCE . YOU DID NOT FIX IT FOR FREE.I BOUGHT YOU MONEY NOT BEGGING YOU FOR FREE. DONT NEVER EVER SAID YOU HELP HIM A LOT. SO WEIRD. BUDDHA NEVER TEACH ANYONE DO THAT.My brother HAVE TO agree to pay because the car is still in the owner's body shop, he dont want to get trouble, and the owner seems unhappy.My families trust on BUDDHA.We believe in KARMA.We do anything by heart.If someone needs help, we will help with our abilities, and BUDDHA TEACH NOT ASK BACK.Anyway, thank you again for teaching us a lesson.

I am so glad I trusted my gut and tried this place to fix the damage to my car. They did a fantastic job of repairing the damage to front bumper. It looks like it never happened. The color match was perfect. It was easy to get a time to drop it off. Took just a little longer than he said, but it was faster and for A LOT less than other places were charging. If you live in the area, I highly recommend this shop.One thing to keep in mind: you must pay by Zelle. No credit cards accepted.Service: Body & Trim

The price I paid for the work I needed done was fair. They did a pretty good job. It wasn't exactly professional by big company standards, but it was good enough. It was as good as what I would have been able to do with plenty of time, and a nice, heated, but ventilated garage with good lighting. SO AGAIN, pretty good decent work, but not professional by big company standards.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

Thank you, Luu! After a hit and run parked on the street, I decided to give Luu a call. He s no-nonsense, honest, and reasonable. Show him patience and space, and let him work his magic. Happy to avoid the insurance claim. He even quoted some minor damage on my friends car as they dropped me off. Love this guy.

I love these guys. I have never had a better customer experience in my life. Luu is a great guy and would help his customers out. He is a blessing in disguise. I recommend his service to everyone. His prices were also great compared to the other body shops I received a quote from.

Luu and his team replaced a door on my 2004 Nissan Frontier for well under $500 the other quotes I received. He also quoted me a few days faster than Gerber. The work is immaculate, the paint job is perfectly matching. He made sure to thoroughly investigate the work with me when I went to pick it up. He was also the most communicative of all the auto body shops I've worked with. I could not recommend him enough. Please note: Luu is cash only.

I was recommended to Luu's auto body shop by a family member. Needless to say, he got the job done and a fairly decent price. I sent my car in because the body of car was scratched and dented badly, I wasn't sure if it was even possible to fix it. In about a week, my car was fixed. A+ shop

Though it is too much of an inconvenience for me to travel all the way to Uptown, I went to Luu's several years ago and the results were amazing. The estimate was the lowest I've ever received and the turnaround was in a very timely manner. My car was damaged in a way I didn't was possible to be repaired, but Luu made of happen at a very reasonable price. I'd go there for everything with my car if I could! If you're reading this, Thank you Luu!

Great prices, great work. Cash only but so inexpensive! Does really beautiful work...perfect auto body shop to go to for the bumps and scratches you get driving in the city when you to just pay for it yourself (if you don't want to see your insurance rates go up).

BEWARE!!!! This Bodyshop is unprofessional , they use my car for drive while my car was there . It was very bad !! And not enough yet, they damaged my car and stole the part in my car ! !The owner refused to responsible for everything . It was nightmare for me , I shouldn't let them fix my car . I made a Big mistake . Filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau.
