I can't praise them enough for the work that they did. If you're reading these reviews (as I was before taking our two cars there), consider your search over - there really isn't any reason to go somewhere else. We had two fender benders with our cars this winter: one a rear-end and one an impact from a city bus. Kraftsmen did a great job on both ("after" photos from the city bus hitting us below - looks brand new). In addition, they're just a wonderful family-run business that is very customer service oriented, responsive, punctual, and knowledgeable about both cars and the insurance industry too (very helpful in our situation), as they've been in business for several decades. On one of the repairs I got a second estimate from another body shop who took about 5x as long to provide the estimate, needed about 3x as long to fix it, and came in at ~2x the cost of Kraftsmen. After two great experiences with them back-to-back, I can't imagine we'll even bother checking anywhere else in the future....

After my car was sideswiped with minor damage to my front driver side and mirror, I was unsure where to take my car, as I didn't have a designated auto body/mechanic. The person who hit me had tried to get me to go to their "mechanic" which was definitely out of the question. So when I called Kraftsman they completely eased my anxiety by listening to my concerns and offered advice on how to deal with the person who hit me. On my first call to them, I felt reassured that my car would be in good hands. There wasn't any pushy sales tactics or "yeah yeah just bring it in." They took their time and completely understood the situation and were truly delightful to work with. I brought my car in for an estimate which took about 20mins or so but it was totally legit, they ran the damage through their system and provided me a genuine quote not some "look and guess" price. I even asked them to quote me on some other damage from a different accident. Every time I called I was able to speak to someone and they never rushed me off the phone. They explained every part of the car that they would fix so I knew exactly what they were doing. They even replaced my front bumper which was a pleasant surprise. Their work took about a week and my car looked absolutely amazing, like new. I would recommend Kraftsman to anyone looking for quality repairs and trustworthy people.

I just retrieved my car from their service, and I must say, they exceeded my expectations. Not only was the job completed promptly, but they also maintained constant communication with me throughout the entire process. Every detail was executed exactly as requested, and they even demonstrated the work done, confirming the use of new parts, and undertaking additional tasks without prompting. Their exceptional service has earned my wholehearted recommendation.

This place did an amazing amazing job, very professional,. Very punctual,. Very communicative. They gave my car an intense detail which makes the finish product look spotless and perfect. They worked very well with my insurance(progressive) and it was a seamless process. I would highly recommend them for simple maintenance and any collision repair. Kraftsmen Auto is a rarity in today's world: an old-school, fair, honest, quality shop. Dan and John are straight shooters who always serve their customer's best interests and produce high-quality work. They are incredibly efficient, accommodating, and communicative. I was referred here by friends, and I knew right away Dan and John would be my guys for all future auto mechanic needs. Several customers walked in while I was signing off on the work expressing how they've been coming here for years. Kraftsmen rebuilt my car after an accident and have taken care of me since for everything. I can't recommend them enough. The BEST in Chicago.

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but these guys deserve it. John and Dan are the best kind of people.Car got side swiped in a parking garage. Took it to 3 other shops to get quotes, and I was about to head home because I was content with the 3rd quote but figured I'd stop by Kraftsmen since it's close to my home. Glad I did.Without knowing my previous 3 quotes, John and Dan at Kraftsmen gave me the most affordable quote with the fastest turnaround time. Car was ready when they said it would be, work was phenomenal, and they even had the car washed and vacuumed before returning it to us.What I appreciated most was how John and Dan treated my wife and I during every interaction. Even over the phone you can tell they are genuinely kind and honest people.6 stars. Don't hesitate. Just go get a quote and meet them.

If you re scrolling through body shops, wondering who s reliable, stop. This is the place!!The entire front of my car was hit and banged up pretty good. Because I had a newer car, the car manufacturer literally didn t have the parts to sell that we needed to fix the exterior of the car. Though this happened in 2021-2022, the supply chain delays were still immense and John and Dan called around relentlessly until we lucked out and finally found all the parts. My car was in the shop for several months because of this global issue and they would always reach out to me and keep me updated with new info and always realistic and upfront about costs. I would highly recommend Kraftsmen to anyone who is in need of an auto body repair.

Joe and Dan were great to transact and converse with. Get the job done with excellent results at the most reasonable and fair price. That s the standard they uphold. Can t beat that. They did a great job on my Cayenne.

These guys did great work on my car! I was involved in an accident, which required extensive suspension work to be done. Despite the process taking a little longer than we all anticipated, they were still able to get my car back in a timely manner and even went above and beyond to have the car detailed, free of charge. John and Dan do great honest work. Support a small biz and take your vehicle here. I had paint failure on my side mirrors and trunk deck. Dan and his team are great. Could not recommend them enough. I brought in my old 2011 Nissan to see what was going on with a new sound that I was hearing and after checking the car, as expected, there were a mountain of issues that needed repairing which he thoroughly explained to me. Dan was very up front with me and said it wasn t worth it to put this amount of money into this car for repair. It s rare to find honest and trustworthy mechanics- they could ve easily taken my money, but didn t. They gave me advice and even reset the error lights on the car for me so that I can try and pass the emissions testing. They are a local shop down the street from me and it s so nice having friendly, honest and reputable guys in the neighborhood that I now know and trust to come to in the future.

Went to Kraftsmen for a small license plate issue because the screws were rusted. They cleared the issue up in MINUTES. These are stand up gentlemen and not another trap that could be in the city for your wallet. If you can get your car to Kraftsmen it s in the best hands.

Made sure to take the proper time needed to fix internal and external problems, and get the proper parts from the manufacturer! Plus got an inside and outside detailing included for the cost of the repairs! They kept me updated throughout the process and handled all the inspections with the insurance. Would 100% come back! I was referred here by a coworker and I was happy I went! They did an awesome job! I had a decent sized scratch and dent on the driver side door. They made sure to match the color perfectly and it looks like there was never any damage! I would definitely go back for any other service.

GREAT customer service and even better quality work. I recently purchased a brand new 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I was rear ended. This car being my "baby" I was absolutely devastated from the accident because I take care of this car as if it was my child. Ofcourse, I wanted the best body shop in Chicago to be fixed. I went to a couple different body shops to have it looked at and out of the 3 I went to, all they did was take pictures, they didn't seem to care much, they didn't touch the car or look under the bumper. It wasnt until a patient of mine refferred me to go to Kraftsmen Auto Rebuilders. I came in and spoke to Dan who seriously made me feel so so so much better within our 10 minute conversation. After speaking to Dan, he called over his brother John to take a look at the car. They inspected the entire car and had my car looking brand new in one week. These guys are AWESOME! My car is back to looking brand new.

Trustworthy, Knowledgeable, Friendly, Reliable! As a single mom who knows zero about cars, it is always added stress when my old jeep has a car issue. I have been here 3 times throughout the years and I can't say enough about Dan and his team. They are a lifesaver! Highly recommend!

I went to Kraftsmen for a bumper repair on a brand new vehicle. They did an excellent job and matching the color, give a fair price, and a very straightforward and honest. Any future body repair needs, I ll go to Kraftsmen.

Simply the best family run, auto body shop in Chicago! I especially recommend them for collision repair / insurance claim work. Dan and John will take care of everything including dealing with the insurance companies and then getting your vehicle back up and running. Best prices for truly quality work.

I got hit by a parking gate due to some bad sensors and my rear passenger side door had some deep scratches in it. Kraftsmen had 5 star reviews and gave me the lowest quote so I figured why not. I couldn't be more impressed with John, Dan and their employees. Throughout the process, they were very informative and knowledgable but listened to my concerns/thoughts. They were clear in the work they would be doing and stayed true to the quote.After picking up my vehicle, I noticed a faint cloudiness to it you could only see in certain light. I felt crazy seeing it but decided to take it back. They were immediately in agreement with me and said they could fix it within 10 min (and they did). It now looks amazing and I'm really impressed with the work they did.They never made me feel stupid or like I was wasting their time. They were respectful throughout and are very genuine in their work and want you to feel satisfied driving off the lot. I'm extremely happy I went to Kraftsmen and would recommend it to anyone!

Kraftsmen Auto turned my frown upside down! I drove in with major front end damage on my Mini Cooper & drove away feeling like I had a brand new car!! The crew here is just awesome! One stop shopping for all your accident needs! They not only advocated for me with my insurance company, the work the performed was phenomenal. Very happy working with Kraftsmen. They were quick and communicative with the prep and the work. They actually made sure to order everything needed prior to getting started so I wouldn't be without a car longer and even called around to try and save me money if we went with aftermarket parts. Dan and John were both extremely helpful and wonderful! They explained exactly what was happening with my car thoroughly and made sure everything was clear. I was recommended this place by a friend and would send anyone their way! They were efficient, kind, and worked with me financially. Make sure to note that they don't take credit or debit card so have your check book or cash ready. However, they give you plenty of time to get that together and communicate with you thoroughly about each step of their repairs.
