I needed an emergency top off on my engine coolant because an alert popped up while I was driving. I was nearby so I called and they were able to squeeze me in real quick. Super friendly service and very helpful.

We've been taking our cars to Joe's for years. They consistently have excellent and friendly customer service. The car is ready when they say it will be ready, and they call immediately when it's finished. With the inspection, they'll tell you what urgently needs fixing and what is less of a priority. They answer all my questions patiently and with expertise, but without the attitude or hard sell. The work itself is always done to the highest standard. Prices are fair, and they explain everything to you in advance. Very highly recommended.

It is always a fantastic experience with Joe Jr. and his team. I'm sad that I'm moving out of state as they have been my go-to shop recently. They are very knowledgeable, and they don't push to get unnecessary work done if your car doesn't need it. The prices are fair for the excellent work they do! I recommend calling ahead to make an appointment as they are busy! Thanks again Joe Jr., et al!

Getting my car fixed was easy. They communicated what was wrong and what it would take to fix it and how long it would take. I have owned this car for over 10 years and the price seems consistent with most good auto shops. Everyone I spoke to was very professional and courteous.

Great job, and quickly. Joe Jr. talked through the issue and options at length. I never felt like I was getting the runaround. He also went above and beyond to find the cheapest parts possible rather than settling for (more expensive) convenience.

Fantastic service and communication. You can tell right away how honest they are. They might throw too much information for the client to decide. That is not bad, actually is what is needed most of the time. Highly recommend them.

Joe's Expert Auto is AMAZING! I have been here numerous times over the past years, and they continue to exceed my expectations. The business is owned and operated by Joe Jr. and his father, Joe Sr. and for this past appointment, I went to Joe's Expert Auto to get a new flex pipe put into my car. They finished in a timely manner, and upon checking out, Joe Sr. commented that the serpentine belt that was put in my car a few years back (by a different auto shop in Chicago) was way too long for my car and that I should come in sometime soon to get it replaced. I told him I would call back and went on my way.I got on the freeway and literally, as I was driving home, my steering wheel stopped turning and got rigid and my battery light came on and my AC stopped working. I got off the nearest exit and called Joe Sr. and he told me to come back. Sure enough, the belt had come undone. I was able to leave my car with Joe Sr. overnight and was able to get it the next day. I appreciate this business' reliability, flexibility in prioritizing emergencies, and warmth (he even gave me a 10% discount because of the emergency repair that had to happen with the belt). I cannot emphasize enough that this is a family mechanic that has got your back and will provide you the BEST service. They are honest, reliable, and lovely people! Thank you thank you!!

I m so happy to have found Joe s shop. I had an issue with my car that made it practically not drivable. I took it to the Toyota dealer but then wanted a second opinion- good thing I did! I ended up saving over $1000...Joe and his team are very professional, courteous & promptly respond to your requests. I m new to living in Chicago & this will be my go to mechanic for any of my car troubles. High quality & honest people! Is it weird to want to send a Christmas card or bring cookies to you auto service shop? Or enjoy going in for repair work? But I do! I've been going to Joe's for about 7 years (or maybe more now) for service on my 15-year-old Subaru. This is a family-owned business with super-honest and high-quality service. They take time to explain everything and even show you the parts needing replacement or work. Their prices are fair and I never feel like I'm being talked into unnecessary work. I trust their judgement and the referrals they've made for work not in their "wheelhouse." have had 2 car issues in 2 years. both taken care of very quickly. They are very transparent with their pricing and what they think are the issues. Honestly, painless interaction and things were sorted out pretty quickly. My car is running fantastic (2003) after both visits. As a note; I compared pricing to my mechanic back home in NH and pricing is very competitive and fair according to him. Works for me!Will visit them again if my car decides to act up!Mike

They were really nice and professional. You can't make an appointment but they fit me in. I had an oil change and my brakes checked. It took less than an hour. I definitely found my new shop.

Hands down the best auto repair shop in the city. I was quoted $1100 somewhere else and Joes was honest and said it would be less that $400 and the work was done within a few days. They ve always done upstanding work.

If you need ANYTHING done to your vehicle bring it here. They stand behind their work, they don't try to sell you on repairs you don't need and tell you what needs to be done in terms a non-mechanical person such as myself can understand.This is a true family business that genuinely cares about their customers and takes pride in the work they do.I will not take my vehicle anywhere else as long as I live in Illinois!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Brakes, Auto brake replacement, Battery, Oil change

I came into Joe's barely 15 min before they were about to close. My sunroof was stuck open and I desperately needed it fixed to be able to park my car on the street overnight. The guys at Joe's were lifesavers! They came out immediately and took care of my problem swiftly. Wouldn't know what I would have done had I not asked them for help. During these trying times Joe's was not only open they took the time to properly evaluate my car. Even though it was more work than I had expected, my car drives like normal again. They were 100% upfront on the work that I needed and gave me a realistic turnaround time.Bonus: They provided a second opinion on some work that I knew I needed and came up with a drastically lower quote than another shop. Mostly because rather than replacing everything they were going to focus on the problem area. This will save an order of magnitude worth of money.

Hands down one of the best mechanics I've been to. Honest and trustworthy, they told me which problems needed to be fixed, and which were simply cosmetic. ("Ie:Does that squeak bother you enough to spend $600 ?")Any mechanic that can appreciate the value of a fix vs it's cost is A+ in my book.

I was extremely pleased with every aspect of my experience. The inspection was quick, and the needed repair was clearly explained. The parts were installed a couple of days later and everything is working perfectly. I highly recommend Joe s Expert Auto for great service at the right price.

They're really nice and helpful. They explained the issues they found, but more importantly told me which ones they recommended I fix and which ones aren't a big deal. I really appreciate their honesty. I've taken my car there twice now and will continue doing so.

I've been going to Joe and Joe Jr. for seven years. They are trustworthy and honest. When I arrive on time or late, as I did a few times, I did not have to wait to be seen or have my car looked at.They have exceptionally expert service. Bar none the best experience I've had at an automotive service center.

Have been going here for a few years for service on various family cars (Mazda, Toyota, BMW). They are always honest and straightforward in their work in addition to just being nice people. Consistently a bright spot during what is typically a horribly frustrating time of a breakdown/need for maintenance. Would recommend to anyone who owns something with a motor.

Saw a nail in my tire. Bring it to the closest place I could find .... which was this business. They looked at it and said it was too close to the sidewalk to be plugged or patched. So I left the care with them so they could replace the tire. I get a call 30 minutes later saying the nail didn t puncture the tire so no need for any repair or replacement. They could have just replaced the tire and I wouldn t have known the difference. But they didn t. Amazingly honest service. Recommend them enthusiastically.
