Went for the free anti-theft event from 19th District PD & Cook County Sherriff. They painted & engraved VIN info on catalytic converters in less then 15 mins (that's as fast as the crooks). A free "The Club" & online registration as well. Great event, kudos to the hosts.

A good friend recommended J & Saloman Auto Repair and I can't be more grateful for all the work they've done on my car in the last 7 months.I first came to J & Saloman when my battery and alternator went out. As I am someone who relies on their car to do my job, I appreciated how quickly they took care of the issue. They even caught an issue with the bands, which where about to snap. Gustavo kept in touch with me throughout repairs and was upfront about what everything was going to cost (allowed me to budget for my repairs). Gustavo has also great at educating me about how specific parts work in the vehicle and the best way to go about maintaining my car in good working order.He even caught damage my tow service did to my car! So a couple weeks later, J & Salomon did some paint work weeks later (thank you for catching that). They did an awesome job on the paint, looked so fresh!They are professional, give wonderful service, and just all-round great guys! I trust them with the care of my car and help me be cost effective. The mechanic replaced the front sway bar links at an acceptable price and on schedule. I can recommend.10-9-23 Just had my tire fixed (nail) acceptable price, Great service. I can recommend.

I went to this to replace my cracked oil pan, but they didn t they just weld it and changed me $1200 for work of $400. One week later oil leaked from the same place they claimed welded. I almost lost my car s engine. So I went back to them they touched it and said well the car is fine and the was just a rubber missing from there so I left, and the same problem kept happening oil leakes and I get the same story or we are busy today bring it tomorrow. I got tired going back and forward. So I went to a different mechanic who charged me to replace my oil pan for a way less money. I went back to them and asked for half of my money the overcharged for the work they didn t do and they told me take the car back to them. Why would I take the car back to them, they mislaid me once. I didn t trust them I told them upfront. I just wanted half of my money and take somewhere else. But they refuse . So I m going to expose them to never SCAM anyone else.Service: General repairs & maintenance

AVOID at all cost!!!Called for AC recharge and was told price is $250 for Honda Accord sport 2018. Went for appointment first time, they told me to come next day because they run out of freon. Go next day stayed there for more than hour and they told me I needed to leave my car since they vacumed the system and can not put new freon in the system for some reason. I needed car that day so I came back 3rd time, left my car pay for the uber to go home and come back to pick it up when they called me. They charged me $540 (ac recharge plus oil change). When asked what was wrong first answer was nothing, they did not know what was the problem first time. I asked why i was charged more than $250 for ac first response was that my freon is more expensive than regular one. Owner made me call some other shop to chek their price and when i called they told me they charge 265 for that type of freon. When hang up he said yes 265 plus labor but labor is always included in the price. When he saw that i am not giving up he came up with new story how my relay was missplaced which is imposible, noone touched the relays and even if that was the case they are the only ones who touch them. He said he charged me for his time and when i asked what about my time i am coming third time obviously for no reason he said it is your car not mine!If you are looking for good and honest machanics avoid this place at all cost. So unprofesional and disrespectfull!!! Zero star

Stay away from this place. They lied about what was included in the job when I brought my car in for timing belt service, and caused an oil leak that ruined the timing belt they installed. I had to pay someone else to do the job right and am taking legal action with the city and courts.

I took my car to this mechanic to replace my oil pan because it has a crack on it. And they just welded it for $1200. They overcharged me. A new oil cost around $300 and they charged me $1200 to just weld the old one. Two weeks later oil leaked from the same place the welded. I went back to talk to them, but they talked to me disrespectfully. Unprofessional, disrespectful and scams (they mislead me) they don t even worth even a single star Service: General repairs & maintenance

A friend of mine went here for repairs and let s just say they re unprofessional and are not honest!!! If a client comes to you, your priority is to make sure things are taken care of properly and to the satisfaction of that client! No one goes to a business to be taken advantage of. If the parts you repair the car with aren t new as requested why tell the client they were and charge as though they were? That s theft! Taking people s money to do a subpar job with used parts!!! Not getting the job done the way it s supposed to be done forces the client to look elsewhere and pay more money. It s not right! Shame on you! I would not waste time coming here or referring anyone here. Do better!

I have a relatively unusual car. They took on a job that the specialist shop didn't discover and wouldn't do the work on, and they even diagnosed and fixed something that the specialist shop misdiagnosed. They did a nice job at a reasonable price.

Finally a local shop I can trust! I came here for a simple oil change a while back and had a great experience. Recently, I ve been in and out of the Berman Subaru dealership/autoshop trying to figure out what s wrong with my car and finally put my trust elsewhere. I am SO GLAD I did! Gus is SO helpful and explains everything to you and shows you exactly what s wrong with which parts etc. They make your car a priority, and give you accurate estimates! They also can get the parts and get everything taken care of fast! Dealership says two days, J & Solomon day two hours! Dealership says all four tire sensors need to be replaced because they can t pinpoint which one was malfunctioning ($800), J & Solomon pinpoint which batter of which sensor is low and changes it out for less! They are amazing! Never taking my car anywhere else again! You won t get all the bells and whistles of a shiny waiting room with coffee maker etc. and there is a card transaction fee if you don t pay cash, but you won t find nicer people, or more trustworthy service anywhere!

I have been here a couple times and it might be my last the reason being is because before they start on my car I always ask What s the price And every time they always add more to the original price they gave me before. They swear it s always a different problem other than the problem They suppose to fix .Every time I let them handle it I always have to come back because here it is the same problem coming back or something similar to the problem that I paid before. Also you have to watch them work on your car DON T LEAVE IT WITH THEM !!!!

The people here are nice and helpful! They make sure to show you what's going on with your car and help you understand why certain repairs are necessary. They also do their best to help you save money!

Nice guys, gave me a beer while I waited. Replaced my muffler for 130 in about an hour. Cleaned off some chalk numbers written on the windows for free too.

i did not get a car fixed here as i'm 13 but last time i walked by i got cat called and they stared at me for a block before i turned onto a new street do not recommend very creepy people there

Any time i visit this shop they always have time to squeeze me in from a simple oil change to when i busted my lower control arm. I have taken two cars to this place over the years and they always help me out at reasonable prices.

Never go to that place because they only steal your money and they don t even know what the problem is with the car,they just try to guess what the problem is and they make you spend on other parts that were not even the problem they are THIEVES
