Darrius D is great. Came in for an oil chance and his customer service and attitude wereawesome. He made the whole process a breeze and would ask for him by name if you get the chance.

Buyer Beware!!! I purchased two vehicles from this dealership and their service department customer service is not customer friendly. All they want to do is hit you with exorbitant service fees and every time you come back they want to tack on more fees. They must not be selling many cars, so they make up the deficiency by charging these outrageous service department fees. My wife and I are in the market for a new vehicle, but we would never buy another vehicle from Honda of Downtown. It would seem like they would want to keep their repeat customers, instead of driving them away. Mgr. Fred Borek should give his employees additional customer service training, including himself.Craig Berryhill

I came in for a recall and left with a surplus of issues (which I didn't have prior) including stiff steering wheel inhibiting me from making turns, AC broken, and engine starting to smoke. Turns out the serpentine belt had a clear cut across and quite literally fell off when I got it checked out by a mechanic. This dealership did a full assessment and quoted me for the car, so if this was an issue I had prior they 100% should have caught it. Like I said I had zero of these issues prior. Not only that but every time I tried calling them in regard to picking up or dropping off the vehicle, no one answered my phone calls. Once I got there and inquired, the worker stated "yeah it just goes off all the time so we just let it go." I highly recommend to NOT come to this Honda center with your vehicle.

I definitely would not recommend I came here prior to making an appointment two weeks prior. Showed up 10 minutes early for my 8:15 AM appointment to be told that since it was a holiday weekend there were people walking in with no appointments and they are being seen first and the wait time for an oil change is 5+ hours. The man with the dreadlocks did not seem to care and was very dismissive. Once I told him I thought that was not OK and unprofessional this place marks up their prices 30 to 50% more than any other Honda third-party dealer step your service up I definitely would not recommend!!!!!

Do not recommend this service. I came for a relatively big break job (brake pads, rotors and rear calipers with brake fluid change) and the price came at $3k. I called other dealerships and they quoted me $1.5k for the same work.So you have 2 times mark up compared to other Honda dealerships. As I can see from the comments I m not the only one who got scammed like that. Definitely not recommend this place!

Ayanni gave us 5 star service! He went above and beyond to help us get our radio code. Thank you! You made our evening brighter.

Had a nightmare service experience at Honda of Downtown Chicago today. It started well enough with service writer estimating a repair to a window which would not close, which was the only reason for my visit. He said if it was any higher than the estimate he d let me know. A couple of hours later, I received a call and text stating the diagnosis to fix the window would be close to $800, four times the original estimate - also nearly double what another dealer said was the going rate. In addition, the dealer performed an overall complimentary diagnostic which I did not request, recommending another $3000 to $5500 in repairs. Even though we have regularly maintained our late model Honda - including as recently as an inspection in May. The dealer sent images of rusty parts with generic descriptions of the function of the part and a $ estimate to repair. A few vague notes specific to my car, but mostly very generic to any car. In particular, the service rep verbally told me there was a serious and immediate safety issue with front bushings. Also among the nine plus other recommended services provided no differentiation between what was necessary now versus down the road. The dealer s overall approach, rather than helpful, felt more like a cross between a scare tactic and a shakedown. I felt my misfortune in having a window failure was treated as their opportunity to try to beef up service revenues, many which I ve since learned are in no way immediately necessary. This caused me to totally lose trust, so I went to retrieve my vehicle to take it elsewhere. Before getting my car back, I was charged a $220 diagnostic fee (which I had mistakenly believed was the original estimate for the window repair). Turns out this was only a diagnostic fee, which evidently was non refundable and would ve been due regardless of the findings. My mistake. $220 still seems steep for what should ve been a simple diagnosis - an independent repair shop corroborated that all it should ve taken was a simple push on window switch and the grinding sound would ve indicated the problem with the regulator. Anyway, with my trust shattered, I paid the diagnostic fee as I was unwilling to go further into this experience with this dealer. So I left $220 poorer, with no fix to window, and unnerved by their suggested list of NINE or more additional services for my historically regularly and recently maintained vehicle. As referenced in other reviews, it also took well over 30 minutes for them to return my car to me after I paid. We are starting over on the window repair with a reputable independent repair shop and won t be returning to this dealer, even though it is the closest to our home. As a post script, the window issue was properly diagnosed by the dealer, but independent shop is fixing for 25 percent less. Also, the independent shop found zero issues with coolant fluid and several other repairs recommended by this Honda dealer. Again, in my direct experience, they lack credibility. Let the buyer beware!

I would rather be run over with my own vehicle than set foot in this service center ever again. Just absolutely awful. Go anywhere else. You cannot trust a single word that comes out of anyone s mouth here, I promise you that. Markup is crazy. You have to get on your knees and beg them to call you back or give you an update or quote. Appointments are meaningless and they re basically just saying whatever when they give you an estimate for when it ll be ready. You will have to wait when you pick it up. No one knows what s going on. Palpable attitude of misogyny from service advisors. You can tell there s some weird vibes in the company culture there for sure, too. Negative reviews are very very very accurate. Beware.

Don t trust this place, they try to get every penny from you. I received a call that they had a $49 special for an oil change that includes a car wash and interior vacuuming. I get there and the guy tries to charge me $69. I find out from one worker their car wash is broken while another worker tells me it s still under construction. I get my car and the interior was never vacuumed. False advertising and lies. My car seat cover was removed and they didn t even have the decency to put it back on. This place is a scam. Go anywhere else but here

Like the other reviews clearly state, you come in for something simple, and they try their best to up charge you on tons of completely unnecessary services. The only item that's not at a stupid price was an oil change ($50 synthetic oil). They try to sell you on a $90 engine filter ($20 part, couple of screws but easily accessible $70 for the labor for doing that is insane), $105 cabin filter ($12 part, no tools required to swap it out), and a some kind of COVID-19 "filter cleaning" service charge on top of it. Tried to sell $250 brake fluid flush (Can be done for around $100 elsewhere). Tried to sell spark plug replacements for $400 (average cost is HALF that, plus the spark plugs on this car are 2 years old). Tried to sell a Fuel induction/injection cleaning service for $190. Other MISC things brought Honda's suggested service estimate to be $1840.74. Absolutely insane to price to charge for "routine" maintenance on a car worth less than 10k. 20% of the total cars value?Total SCAM.Service: Auto maintenance

If I could give no stars I would. Extremely unprofessional and the fist thing the service huy told me was we aren t going to try and add a bunch of services just to charge you and guess what. That s exactly what they did. Made it sound like I needed $1000 worth of repairs to address the issue with my car. The next day my car doesn t start and then they tell me it s an additional 4K for repairs. They say they have same day oil changes but when you get there they expect you to leave your car for one week just for an oil change. The management is incompetent and the service department just wants your money. Please do not bring your car to this location. If I ever have issues, I will tow my car to a different Honda dealership.

I had a 7:45am appointment and waited 15 min for my assigned service rep to check my vehicle in. The other reps seemed more responsive to their customers. My rep finally called me late afternoon to give me the cost of repairs and that the part had to be ordered. He matter of factly said I should be able to pick up my vehicle the next day as if I had another car as backup. The repair job wasn't done correctly, but my rep has not been available to discuss. When I have time, I'll have to make another appointment with a different service rep. The guy who checked me out when I picked up my vehicle was very good. The cost of repairs was excessive in my opinion. I really don't want to use this Honda Service again, but I need to get the repair work done correctly.

My oil change took five hours and I never even received an apology. If they had told me when I booked the appointment that they would be backed up due to construction, I might have booked an earlier time (which it appeared it wouldn t have helped) or gone elsewhere. I got no updates the entire time despite texting the number they sent me *so I could get updates.* I met another guy whose appointment was 15 minutes before mine and he was waiting at least 4 hours. Not likely to be returning.

The first time I brought a 2010 Honda serviced here, their recommended adjustments totaled close to $3,000. My family and I were able to make the repairs for less than $300 servicing ourselves. When the car broke down, the services manager told me it was $2,000 minimum and an extra $1,500+ for highly recommended updates, they ended up doing the work for $1,000.The reason for the two stars is this: Gary here spoke with us when we brought the car back a 3rd time. It turns out the same part they installed less than 30 days before broke. He tried to make us believe it was a faulty part because it was not Honda manufactured (the only way to get reasonable part prices). Even if it was faulty, the entire experience was off. My partner was managing the communications and he would randomly call me to give updates and ask if we re satisfied.

Have been here multiple times, and yes, they will try to upcharge you, but nothing fraudlent as far as I know. One time was told I needed $3,000 of repairs after a free multi-point inspection (I know enough about cars to know these were unnecessary services), I opted for just an "oil and filter change", and they did an oil change and then changed the cabin filter and charged me $200 for the cabin filter I didn't want (for anyone who doesn't know, this is not what a typical oil and filter change means). Now 3 years later, went in since my engine light came on, nothing urgent but saw a complimentary inspection on their website, and they denied being able to simply plug into my hard-drive to narrow down the possibilities as per their website (takes 1-2 minutes to do), and said that they would need $190 upfront for this. I'd advise just be prudent going here; it is a convenient location.

I had a great service center experience with Alexander Reyes. He was very supportive when bringing my vehicle in for repairs and consistently communicated regarding when my vehicle would be ready for pick-up. I recently financed my Honda Hr-v and my sales person, Chris W., made my experience great as well! He was supportive with the entire process and very detailed throughout the full process. I will highly recommended Honda Downtown Chicago to others and look forward to staying with Honda!

Do not buy a car here. We went in to buy a 2022 Honda CR-V, and they were charging a $5000 "market adjustment" on top of the MSRP. They claim it's due to the popularity and low stock, and that the vehicle will hold its equity. We all know cars hold no equity and that money would be gone forever. This doesn't even include the $2000 "protection package" and other add-ons no one wants and they "can't get rid of." We had no problem walking away from a dealer that was charging $7000 over MSRP and using "let me go talk to my manager" sales tactics from the 1950s, doing the grid method of "well what can you afford?" and being totally unreasonable.Do yourself a favor and go to AutoNation O'Hare and ask for Joe. We paid MSRP on a 2022 CR-V, with some upgrades to boot. While we had to wait two weeks, we happily paid a deposit and walked away with a new car totally happy. They were fully upfront the entire time, and didn't try any money grabbing tactics.

I had good experience servicing my accord. Fred Borek was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable and helped to diagnose the Radar problem in Honda Sensing. He ordered a new part which was under warranty and fixed the problem free of cost. The whole process was seamless.

Customer service was really good. Brandon Cruz was honest and earnest. Reason for the 4 star review is that Honda wants to charge me >$800 for parts and labor for a brake pad change and rotor resurfacing for front and back. The brake fluid replacement, oil change were reasonably priced.

Over hiking on prices compared to other locations (even other Honda service centers by 25%).

I came in without an appointment and they needed to keep my car overnight. Not what I expected, but I couldn t be mad for not having an appointment. Despite that, Salazar showed me great care and service, and even ordered Lyfts for me to get home and back from the dealership. I much appreciated the service and overall care.

I bought honda CRV in Dec-2019 and it was Late 2016 model and miles were 11,000. They said it's certified car and we did more than 100 check points. Yesterday when i went for service and miles were 14,000 . They said i should change my all 4 tires because they have cracks after just driving only 3,000. And they did recommendation for oil changes and brakes which has cost around $1000. I just want to know where were these check points when they sold me, is it certified for which i paid already more than $3000. I would say you should not go on this location for buying any certified or any old car. Now i am releasing i should have buy new car instead of going on this location. I shared my experience , rest it's up to you.

Go to some other Honda service center! This place charges 30-50% more than other places. After getting an insane bill, I got estimates from other places and they were way lower. The manager is so arrogant and said he will stick to his outrageous prices and doesn t care if he loses my business!!!I wish car manufacturers were allowed to sell to customers and service them directly. This type of service dilutes the brand experience.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Worst experience. Had car picked and dropped off. Inside light was left on and battery died. Also had tires rotated, and had a flat in one- never even moved my car. They over charge, take no responsibility, and take over a week to even respond to your issues.Funny how when they prompted me to review them in a text, specifically google review, it never got posted. Even though it claims review was already made. I m sure they avoid posting all the negative reviews

I came in with some routine problems and something the sales department screwed up when selling me the car (same dealer). The staff were very attentive, straightforward and got everything fixed quickly. They went out of their way to fix the sales departments screwup, not charging me a penny for something they probably could have made me pay for. Overall I'm very satisfied with the service department at this place.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment, Brakes

Disappointing experience with the team (primarily Eric Whittacker was my service manager). After a service where they were supposed to check tire pressure I took a road trip and had the TPMS (tire pressure monitor) light turn on. Service was Friday and trip was Saturday. Eric confirmed that technician should have made sure all tires were at proper PSI. Trying to get resolution (Not even an apology) is impossible. What I get is slow or no reply and basically the runaround. I am done with their service department. Save your time, support a local mechanic instead of paying bloated dealer prices for sub standard customer service.

My repair was estimated to take 2 hours but it took 4 hours while I waited and the rep never mentioned an engine air filter needing replacement, then put it on my report as critical. I'll never return here.

This place is a scam..never go here for repairs.. i soent 3000 for repairs and fluid changes that probably wasnt necessary..i got it done anyway and did not listen to my gut..but one time i went there again and had an oilchange..they did a multipoint inspection and cameback with some additional repairs to be done..they said i needed to replace a valve cover gasket and alignment which i thought was overpriced and un neccesarrry..so i went to another dealership muller honda..they said somebody spilled oil all over the side of my engine to make it look like the valve cover gasket is leaking..plus my alignment isnt off..they just took off some air on my left side front tire to make my sterring whell uncentered..never going back again..they will scam you for all you got im warning everyone not to go to this crooked place
