I've taken my car there twice now, and both experiences were great. They are friendly and honest, and I was really happy with the repairs. One thing I appreciate a lot is that they take the time to show you what's wrong and how they fixed it. We've all heard the horror stories of repair shops trying to tell you things need fixed all the time to get more business, so it was very refreshing and appreciated when they took that extra time to explain everything. I'm really thankful to have found this little spot and highly recommend them.

They took the time to inspect the car and make sure it was safe and ready for my upcoming long haul. They gave me a competitive price, got all the work done the same day, and every single person I encountered was incredibly sweet, pleasant, and more than helpful. I owe a safe 14 hour drive to this amazing team. They have done a good bit of work on my car over the last two years and are now my trusted mechanic. Cannot speak highly enough of my experience with them!

I had a great experience at Hernandez Auto Repair. Not only was the work done competently, quickly and at a reasonable price, they went above and beyond. I had a lingering disputed insurance claim related to this repair, and Aurelio made sure that I was properly equipped with all the documentation I needed to succeed in getting the claim approved (including ways I wouldn't have thought of). Rarely review and went solely on Google reviews so I felt I must do my part. These guys were honest, speedy and knowledgeable. Hopefully, I won t need more car repairs, but if I do - you ll find me here! (And I have a 2011 Camry, so they know their cars!)

I spent a week going back and forth with these guys about getting an inspection and estimate for flood damage on a car. They told me they would follow up, but never did. Finally after calling them back for the third time, they told me they won t do it. These guys are unprofessional.

I went to Hernandez Auto wanting to make sure my 2006 Honda Accord was safe to drive to New York from Chicago for Christmas this year and after having other negative experiences with different auto mechanics in the area (especially coming in as a woman). Hernandez really showed me they cared and took very intentional and thoughtful care of my car, including running multiple diagnostics and thoroughly inspecting and test driving my car. They also remember that I was driving that far and were really clear about wanting it to be safe on such a long car drive. They ended up fixing and replacing a ball joint for me for a really manageable price. We were introduced to Hernandez Auto when our usual place became too busy, and I'm so glad! Honest and good service. I bought a used Acura TSX and took it to Hernandez's for inspection. They were very friendly and was also informative about what they found on the car. He informed me that everything is good but the oil needs change. I gave it a go and noticed that the oil was actually black as he was draining it (previous owner wasn't honest to me probably).What I found impressive is that they were honest about the car's condition and told me there is nothing to worry. I have seen plenty of bad mechanics who lie and tell the customer that such and such parts need replacement but from my first experience I think these people are ethical. They also didn't overcharge me either. I was charged 75$ for Synthetic oil+oil change+inspection.Will come again.

My wife has her OBGYN next door, so when I needed some things replaced in my car, I decided to give this shop a go. Owner was very receptive and did a nice job with the parts I provided. This was one of the best auto shop experiences I ve had so far. Is not a fancy shop with bottles of water or free coffee but man the customer service is great. Went there for an oil change(half the price I would pay at Jiffy) and was in and out very quick. The two men working there were very helpful.

My car was taken to 2 other places brakes for less on Clark and t auto on Broadway neither place fixed the problem said my car was good the other replaced muffler charged a lot still same noise.mr Hernandez test drove my car and diagnosed the problem. He did charge top $ for services but I will expect to pay for such quality work.my car runs like new and is such a pleasure to drive. Honest shop with honest pricing. I've been taking my car here for over a year and will never take my car anywhere else. The owner is an honest guy who never over charges. They tell you whats wrong and give you your options to do the work. The last job he did for me took longer than expected but they honored the original estimate. No Upselling, No tricks, No BS. It's hard to find a decent shop that wont try to sell you a million services. Love the guys @ Hernandez, keep up the good work!

It's a small shop so you need to call ahead and not drop by, but I've never felt so loyal and affectionate towards a mechanic shop in my life. Honest, straight forward, good people here, and fair prices. They saved my car when another mechanic (hi L&L!) botched an oil change, and they could/should have charged me 3x as much. I would stand outside and spin advertising signs for these guys for FREE if I thought it would help their business... Not that they need it, because other customers of theirs that I've met seem to feel the same way. A++, trust these guys with your vehicle.

Thank you for being fair, fast, and skilled.Battery and alternator died and I had replaced the battery but had the auto supply test the system again and it reported the alternator was also bad. This city isn t my home so I was relatively lost, and my home, mechanic couldn t even see me for a week.In a world of cheats and thieves, these folks stand apart. This was truly one of the highlights of my experience with Chicago. Good people can make a bad situation simply inconvenient and my gratitude for their kindness and honesty, speed and skill is sincere.Thank you for installing the alternator!

Excellent service and quality product used. I decided to try local service since my vehicle was pretty much limited to 5 mph and I didn't want to drive a long distance to my normal mechanic. I had severe drive-shaft issues on a Chevy SUV. They did the job for 25% less than Pep Boys quote (ok only 10% if I used Pep Boys 15% off service coupon, but still Hernandez was less), and they used the more expensive quality name brand parts, not the generic parts quoted by Pep Boys. Car drives great.

Wouldn t work on my car unless I had a brand new key, After spending $90 on a key... they still wouldn t touch or repair my car. Was rushed to get it out of the shop immediately; even though I was paying for tows. After all the running around, they misdiagnosed my car.Keep in mind, I called them maybe 6 times prior with questions and explaining what is wrong with my car.Not one thing was fixed, money was wasted, and the service was rude.Wouldn t recommend, go to a different auto shop!

Hernandez Auto Repair is simply fantastic. They fixed everything on my car for an insanely reasonable price and were honest as to what actually needed to be fixed, unlike many places in Chicago. I am recommending to all my friends and will be returning for all my future car repairs/tune up needs!

I cannot speak towards the service only my experience over the phone. Whomever answered was speaking to me as though I was annoying with my question about the amount of time it would take to give me a quote on a repair. You'll need to leave it for one or two days. I took my business elsewhere and the issue was a quick fix that took less than 30 mins.

I had a repair done. After collecting my car about three blocks away I noticed my anti lock brake light was on and it wasnt on before bringing it to them. I immediately returned there only to find they quickly locked up their business and hid.Returning the next day they pretended to be concerned but said they were too busy to find out what happened just then. Said they would call me tomorrow. I guess it's TRUE tomorrow never comes. BUMS AND CROOKS

my mother actually turned me on to Hernandez. They never tried to upsell her with useless add-ons that were completely unnecessary (as so many of those shady places will do). They're professional, they are efficient, and their work is exemplary every time. I won t bring my car anywhere else so long as I live in Chicago.

They don t hassle you for anything extra, they fit me in no problem and changed my oil in about half an hour while I waited. Best value, and seemed down to earth. Will def be going back.

This is hands down the most honest and ethical repair shop I have experienced. Aurelio, co-owner and manager is honest and understands the need to prioritize repairs when there are multiple issues. I highly recommend Hernandez Auto!
