The one and only in the Windy. Four wheels or two. More than welcome to do you according to your services, and when we falter, there's family around to step in place. Car meets, class, projects, racing, you name it, it can more than likely happen in this well-equipped, fully-facilitated space. All we ask is for mutual respect, as it is a two-way street.

If you work on your own car or motorcycle, this is where you want to be. Friendly, helpful staff, lifts, and all the tools you need to do anything from an oil change to an engine swap.

Love this place! If you can plan ahead, and work quickly, you can save cash. Installed a cat-back exhaust and did an oil change here and it went super smooth and was less than $100. I highly recommend this place. Tim and Molly are very pleasant owners and they have the coolest cars there.

Worst service they don't have proper equipment and the lady she provides you basic tools which is $150 at Walmart please don't go there and waste money and efforts better you reach to local mechanic shop they'll do that less than the amount and time you'll spent there

Understand that your skills don t improve when you have a lovely set of all the right tools hugely beneficial for city dwellers who fancy themselves to be mechanics of any sort. Love that this exists.

Overall great experience at Gearhead Workspace. I scheduled a few hours to perform some maintenance on my car and the entire process went off without a hitch. They had a nice variety of tools and shop supplies available in each bay. The shop was clean and open with several lifts. Molly was fantastic with checking in and helping me find some specific tools I needed. Really happy something like this exists in the city, I ll definitely be returning!

Drove two hours from Indiana to get here but it was SO worth it! First time DIY fixing my car so a small project turned into a two day project, but the owners were nothing but kind and helpful to us! They have all kinds of tools for any job you're looking get done on your car. 100% recommend!

Love this shop. Rent a lift and tools for a very fair price. They can help you if your stuck on somwthing. Advanced tools for rent or loan.If youre a gearhead like me just buy the membership and save money. Everybody needs a place to work on their projects and this is wxactly what chicago needs.

It's a great spot to work on your car. They have a ton of tools and a supportive staff. While it can get a little hot and greasy, it's not unlike any other garage environment. It's a great asset to the DIY community!

Amazing place! Cannot rate Gearhead Workspace high enough! Very reasonable rates to do your own work and extremely accommodating. Molly even offered advice on a how to extract a stripped hex screw, which I'd have been S.O.L. without. Will definitely return for future projects! Thank you!

Work on your car and use their tools, lyft, and towels. A great opportunity to learn new skills in srlf automotive. They even have classes to fix your own car(s)... $40 and hour flat fee, tools missing, you will pay for those as well. Happy fixing!!!

This place is awesome! I came in because I had to replace the power steering pressure hose on our 2003 Honda Pilot. The manufacturer states that this job takes about 1.5-2 hours. Well, I m an amateur, so I thought I could probably get it done in 3 hours. I have done some things on my car before but I m not experienced at it. However, after 3 hours the pressure hose was still on because we couldn t remove the last screw. I was about to quit but Tim and Molly quickly organized a mechanic that was able to get their within 30mins. He ended up doing the most challenging parts of the job and walked me through the steps of the repair that I was able to do. At the end I spent the whole day at the shop (almost 8h), got help from an experienced mechanic and our car is running smooth again...everything for a great, reasonable price. Everyone, including the other people that worked on their cars, was very friendly and welcoming. It s a great place to work on your car. I will definitely come back to this place, even though I hope it won t be too soon. Thumbs up!!!

This place is a Chicago hidden gem. Was able to come in and wrench on my new project car and get good advice and tool support. Other customers are cool too and very helpful. Looking forward to coming back and possibly storing my car there.

The next best thing to working in my dad's garage. They reserved the lift for me, kept a tidy workspace, recycled my old parts, provided customer service when needed. It definitely saved me money compared to taking the car to a shop. I'll be back!

Was a lil nervous because I ve never worked with a lift before, but I have to say Greg and Molly are the most patient people I ve ever meet in the car business world. They were happy to answer even the most basic questions and guide me through the whole process. I can t recommend this place enough.

First visit today. Staff was super nice and extra helpful! It s been years since I replaced a muffler and local chain repair shop wanted over $400. Bought the parts myself and booked an hour at Gearhead. Saved a ton and had a great time with my daughter replacing her muffler.

Fantastic place to work on your car with very knowledgeable owners. They got me out of a bind when I had a bolt sheer- they were highly understanding and helpful. Couldn't recommend it more.

I did not use the services of the company, but I should say that the company is focused on the client, so read my story below. My friend gave me a birthday certificate. I could not use it for a long time, and then the company's services were not needed anymore. I remembered that I have a certificate only 2 years later and wrote to the company with a request to return at least part of the money. The management of the company agreed to make a return to a part of the certificate. As a result, I got 70% of the full cost, which suits me, as I understand that 2 years has passed.

My truck broke down near the place and i didnt have much cash. They got my truck back alive earlier than expected, and pricing was reasonable. Freindly and helpful staff(especially Chris) that were understanding to my situation. Even got a chance to talk to the owner who was surprisingly down to earth and helpful. Great spot for just about any vehicle. Thanks gearheads. Keep being awesome!!

The people at Gearhead Workspace were amazing help. We broke down on lake shore drive and waited for a tow truck for 4 hours. we had called Gearhead to let them know we were coming. They eventually came and got us themselves and provided excellent service. Highly recommended and thank you!
