Looking for THE BEST automotive service center in the area? YOU JUST FOUND THEM! COME TO ERNIES FORGET CREST.. FORGET AUTO POL.. ..Allow me to explain..I consider myself a "Car Guy"I own three vehicles. A 89' Firebird, a 80' Bronco and a 02' Lexus RX300. If I cant diagnose and fix the vehicle myself, my vehicles come only HERE!Where Ernie, Larry and the rest of the ASE CERTIFIED crew gives me the most professional, courtesy, and overall friendliest service you'd ever experienced. I've dealt with this garage for over a decade and they NEVER fail me. It's fixed rightthe FIRST TIME and all your questions you may have will be answered and explained. I recently brought in my Lexus for service. I didn't have a way back to my house after dropping off the vehicle, Ernie HIMSELF dropped me off at my house AND picked me up when the vehicle was ready!Have no fear of being upsold here.. They will NEVER try to sell you a part or service you don't need! The ASE certified crew will expertly assess and diagnose the problem with your vehicle, they will promptly call you with the estimate price and fix it typically the same day. Their pricing is beyond fair. From changing out a battery to replace a transmission these guys know what there doing! From "hot rods" to "daily driver's" (regular cars n trucks)..Ernie's has you covered! A big THANKS to Ernie and everyone for their AMAZING service, attention and overall expertise and professionalism!

I recently had the pleasure of having Ernie's work on my car (oil change and battery replacement) and it turned what is normally a long, unpleasant and expensive ordeal at the dealership into a breeze. Super nice owners, unusually fair prices, and they let my husband take home a couple of complimentary car calendars for my toddler, who is obsessed with cars. Give em a try and you won't go anywhere else again!

My husband and I take both our jeeps to Ernie's for regular maintenance or if an issue pops up. We r very happy with the service and the professional, friendly, accommodating people.

I was contemplating whether to leave a review as I normally do for everywhere I go or if I shouldn t, but I am. Took the car in for an alignment, the job was well done ! Customer service was great. Great ppl, great shop. My only complaint is be more careful when performing the job. I detail cars and I know my cars. Whomever was working on my car must have leaned on it or something because they scratched my car. My car is coated so this will be a pain to fix. I actually noticed the technician rubbing the damaged area and then looked towards the waiting area nervously to see if I noticed which I did. I just didn t notice what he was trying to rub so discreetly until I got home. Again the work was well done. Just be a bit more careful as now I have to fix this.Service: Wheel alignment

Specify very clearly what should be done upfront.I brought in a clunker that I didn't want to put major investments into, and told them so. Had a check engine light and ac not working, and I wanted both assessed. I asked what the ac issue might be, and got an estimate if it only needed freon recharged.I figured I should get the estimate on the engine warning first because that might be the most expensive. I get a call where they give me the cost for the engine warning and it was not bad. So i tell him that everything can be fixed if the ac issue will be resolved with a freon recharge.I get a call back later that the engine warning issue is fixed but that the ac needs a new compressor which is gonna cost a thousand dollars... If I had known i would have to shell out 1000 just to fix the ac alone I wouldn't have bothered doing anything with the car.They explained that this was miscommunication and that they could take out the part put in to fix the check engine warning, and only charge for the labor. At this point I didn't want to have to deal with being without a car for another day and Ubering back and forth to the shop. So i didn't bother.I'm sure it could have been an honest mistake but you would think a mechanic that's been around for some time would have the sense to figure out an estimate for all issues, not just assess and fix one by one....

Larry and the team at Ernie's are the best. Fair prices, quality workmanship and good communication. I recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a reliable mechanic shop.

I would recommend this shop to a friend. This shop exceeded my expectations in all aspects. I called them asking if they could do some suspension work on my van. Ernie's shop gave me a great quote and immediate service. I had suspension work done on my vehicle the same day. Same day service may not apply if the shop is busy. First come, first serve.If you are curious about what Ernie's shop can do for you, just give them a call. This is the quickest way to reach them. I will definitely be returning for future mechanical repairs if needed.

Unfortunately I have to edit my review. Check engine light issue looked at 3 times and no resolution. Just came back after the 3rd attempt and they did not even reset the check engine light. My guess is they did nothing this 3rd attempt / visit. Steve

My windshield wipers decided to suddenly quit working on a rainy day...bad news. I Googled an auto shop close to where I was located, since I'm from out of town and haven't established a mechanic yet - safe to say I've got one now!I walked into Ernie's and was greeted by Larry, who handed my keys off right away - I didn't have to wait, which surprised and delighted me since they looked busy. 45 minutes later, they had temporarily fixed the issue (exactly what I wanted since my dad is a mechanic in Southern Illinois and I just needed a temp. fix to get me home). They didn't try to convince me I needed a new this or a new that, they just fixed it like any good shop would do. I LOVE this local business! Three generations of family working there, and they talk to you like you're a real person. Fair price, quick service, and they didn't make me feel like an idiot! Will absolutely be returning for future service on my car, and would gladly recommend them to anyone.

I took my car to this shop for the first time and it was a great experience! I went in with a list of things that seemed to be wrong and they addressed all of it. They are well priced, polite, family owned, and honest. Thank you Ernie's Local Automotive Services for a great experience and job well done! :)

Larry and his Crew are just fantastic , very reasonable .I can't say enough how completely satisfied I am.I will never go anywhere else!!!!What's is more important is the Honesty. To me that is everything!!!!

They can definitely fix your car, however: be prepared to wait awhile. In fact if you live close, walk home and come ( in my case two days later when I was promised the next day) back. Also a bit pricey and they don't negotiate at all. They also give your car an oil change when they feel like it. If your in a hurry, especially for an oil change. This is not the place to go.

My car broke down and I was able to lurch it to within 200 feet of Ernie's right after closing time. They stayed after, jump my car and help me into their secured lot. After that they had the car ready by 3 P.M. the next day for a very reasonable price. The parts have been holding up perfectly for over a month now.Can't recommend these guys enough. I would definitely return should the need arise.

My family has been going here for many years. Larry and Ernie Jr. have always been honest when it comes to repairs. They give fair prices and always fix me up in a day. When I lived out of town, I've had them fix other's mistakes. I highly recommend these guys!!!!!!!

These guys are so nice and honest. They work fast. I had a front end problem that had been misdiagnosed at 3 other shops. Ernie figured it out in maybe 10 minutes and fixed it same day! This is the only shop I will go to now!

I have been a regular customer at Ernie's since 2010. Ernie Jr. and Larry know my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta very well because they had replaced the engine. When I am in the Markt to change vehicles, I would know who to ask. Thank you for all the years of great service.

ernie's is family owned for many years and they really care about getting your car fixed right and back on the road. This is the best car repair service I've ever used and they only fix what is wrong, not other stuff that really didn't need to be done!

Great place for car service! Excellent staff!! No pressure sales and their prices are the best too!
