I never write reviews but had to after this. Was quoted one price to replace my tires over the phone then when they were done with the work they quietly increased the price and stated you have a nice car just pay the difference. Said they would take the tires off and I agreed because they unchanged for no reason. Then the owner dropped the price while yelling and tried to be petty by stating ill only take the original price if you pay in cash. Would not recommend ND would not go back.

This place is fantastic!! The customer service is on point and everyone was super nice and professional. My tire pressure was low due to the insane negative temperatures so I stopped by to get them filled. The guys filled my tires and put new caps on so it s easier to fill during cold temps. They didn t charge me and they were quick and professional!I already referred them to my neighbor and I will be coming back with any car repairs/issues/maintenance. Thanks everyone!

I love Ed s auto. Center. I have an older car with low mileage. They have fixed my brakes, hub bearing, and other parts. I ve never had to wait too long. The prices are affordable. Very good customer Svc.

Great guys overall. Did a good job of replacing my car s control arm at a reasonable price. They will work with you without trying to scam you or anything like that.

I took my 2001 Buick century to get the emission system look at because i have a code for the evaporator canister. So mind you the car is old i realize that but money isn t the problem . The mechanic flat out told me that he s not working on the car because it s too old and there s nothing he can do. This is the Midwest every car is gonna be rusty after a certain amount of years. But that s not an excuse to pick and choose which cars to work on.

This repair shop violently repaired my car. My tire pressure sensor was normal before change the new tire. After the tire was replaced, the light showed abnormally. I went there twice . They want to holding my car long time and told me can t wait there. Each cost $155. We went to other places to repair and found them ,they are broken the sensor, fixed the bad sensor to the hub with glue and wire. This auto center service is too terrible . Never take your car to here

My Honda Odyssey was not shifting into 2nd properly, took it to these guys and after some testing they quoted me a decent price to rebuild the transmission. Had my van back in less than a week. I do not feel taken advantage of, and have much respect for their technicians. One tech, Junior was very helpful and open to answering my questions. Would definitely recommend. I ve had nothing but a great experience taking my car to get serviced at Ed s. So much so that I referred my mom to take her cars to Ed s.. that s how confident I feel about their level of service. My mom also had a great experience. From having my transmission fixed to suspension work and other repairs. They are Friendly, Knowledgeable experienced mechanics, Fast and fairly priced. I will keep taking my cars to Ed s Auto Center.

I took my car for repairs n the prices they quoted me I found at much cheaper price. He was charging me 598.00 for a rack and pinion assembly I found it at several auto stores for less then 150.00 287.00 for a axel, motor mounts 269.00 I found for 200.00 less so I will be reporting this establishment also this is not my first time having this problem, I feel like he s price gouging due to me being a woman. I will not let this one go

Was referred to this place by a friend. Asked for my transmission to be checked, due to hard jerking, left car was told it needed a tune up. Got the tune up and actuator fix, a month later trans went out. Called them up, told me to bring it back in, I told them for a $1100.00 bucks what I asked for you all to look at should of been looked over. Im not paying for a transmission from this business. I just decided to go to a transmission specialist instead. Actuator still works good a year later. Thanks for that

I called this place prior to going and they told me give them 30 mins to 1 hour to look and diagnose the problem. I went in for a muffler to be repaired. I waited for my car for about an hour and a half. The service was fast and the staff were nice. Prices were reasonable and I will be using this shop again for service. Definitely recommend!

I have to find another shop to go to. This is my second car I ve brought to Ed s. At first I thought It was a good shop but I was wrong. It always seem like I end up spending a few hundred EVERY TIME I go. As a woman I feel like I m being OVER CHARGED as well as the mechanic messing up other parts on my car. I had a new engine put in and couple months later I got a leak. Too bad warranty is only for 3 months so it s nothing they could do but charge me over $600 to get It fixed. I got back for a ac compressor which now has my car floor soaked in water. I m so hurt and disappointed to get treated this way and my car still isn t completely fixed. I wonder do everybody get over charged or it s because I m a YOUNG woman. Smh i don t know if i should bring my car back to even get those things fixed or should i find somebody else. I have been getting my vehicles repaired by Ed's shop for more than a decade. As a woman I appreciate that they have never given me the run-around with unnecessary repairs or over pricing as some shops stereo typically do. I really LOVE this shop. Not only do they perform great reliable repairs at reasonable prices and in a timely manner, they offer good customer service while doing so. I will definitely continue all my auto business with this shop. Ed and his mechanics are stuck with me and any vehicles owned by me forever

Ed s Auto Center is wonderful, very professional and honest! They always do exceptional work, this is why we come back year after year. They ve worked on all our cars for over 25+ years, I don t trust anyone else but them. Well worth the time and money.

I lived in canaryville and Back of the Yards and I became a loyal Ed's customer at that time. I highly recommend this mechanic over other mechanics in the area. When you go in you actually get to talk to Ed himself. They do great work and fair prices and you can trust the diagnosis. I always go back because I know my my car is going to be in good hands and I'm going to get my money's worth.

I been going to Ed for about 4 years now. I was introduced to Ed by my mother and she s been with him for about 5-6 years. I ve never ever had a issue after they fix it for me. I ve had 3 different cars. A Buick Verano, Dodge Avenger and a Kia Optima. Every car I ve gotten he fixed for me and I never had a issue after. Cars are investments. Your gonna spend random prices on random things. If you can t afford it, ride the bus or save your money better. No matter how much I spent the issue never rises again after coming here. Whatever they can t do they are honest and tell you to go to the dealership. Not to mention they order dealership OEM parts for your car. Good deals, only 2-3 days to fix cars for me or even less. I Reccomend them to all my friends and family and we all get things fixed. Nothing or no one is perfect but ED, Junior and Lalo etc do a great job in making your car last years and years. All of These Guys take good care of me. Uber inspection, oil change, suspension work, major issue troubleshooting. These guys have been awesome for years. I recommend

I just found out that the brakes that were put on my car were not the brakes i gave Ed s auto. I go go auto zone to get brakes because I ve been a customer for years and that s my go to place and i like they have lifetime warranty. I had a mechanic take off my brakes (which were suppose to be from autozone) and come to find out they were totally different brakes. Ed s auto took MY brakes and replaced them with there own smh. I was not able to use my warranty and swap out the brakes for FREE at auto zone because they didn t belong to them. I had to repurchase my brakes. EDS AUTO IS A PIECE OF GARAGE AND THIS MATTER WILL BE HANDLED.Service: Brakes

They always do a great job on my car. Most important thing for me is trust, it's hard to find someone that you can trust to fix your car without ripping you off. They are very friendly and professional. I would totally recommend this place to anyone that needs a great service on their car.

I had a great experience. I live in the neighborhood and my car wouldn't start a block away. They retrieved my car after 2pm, at no charge, and was ready by the end of day. They were fast and professional. I would take my car there again.

I worked with Italo and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and most importantly accommodating! He worked closely with me to make sure my car was looked at, at the most appropriate time. He gave me a full diagnostic and kept me up to date with the repair process. I highly recommend.

Always over priced, lazy workers that don t help and instead try to scam you. By holding your car as long as they can and charging you an outrageous fixed labor fee for basic repairs. Horrible place have returned a few times with different issues only to walk out a almost every time. Never take your car to Ed s if you actually like your car

I've been here 3 times. One to change the catalytic converter (known to be pretty pricey to change), another to change my oil, and just recently to fix a leaking tire. I've had nothing but very fast and very affordable service even though they tend to be pretty busy.The people are friendly and focused on their work. The prices are great and I honestly believe they try their best to fix your problem with the cheapest solution.For example, I brought my own oil and oil filter and they changed my oil for $10. They also patched my innertube for $10. For the catalytic convertor for my boyfriend's car, we negotiated for an amazing price!One tip though is that it's very very helpful if you speak Spanish as only one or two people at the autoshop speak English and they might not be working on the day you're there. I'm unsure why they've received one stars in the past...

Zero integrity! Stay away !I sent my pregnant wife to drop off my truck at the transmission shop next door because it had trouble codes related to the transmission and she walked into Ed's door by mistake.Instead of redirecting her next door to the professionals, they took the truck in, checked the obd, found the codes I had already checked, drove it around the block, and concluded that the transmission was fine and that the computer was bad and the transmission was just fine.They offered to change out my perfectly good computer for about $1000 after conducting no checks on the transmission.I smelled a rat when I asked if they even dropped the pan and they said no and said they could tell by the trouble codes.I knew right then that either they were stupid or they thought I was.They charged me $ 40 for the work I had already done, after they took advantage of my Pregnant wife, and cost me a day of use of my truck because they wanted their ill gotten money before taking the keys next door.

I'm not one to write reviews but had to after experiencing this potential ripoff. I brought my car here after failing my emissions test to see if they could fix it. Ed's told me I needed an oil pressure switch, oil pan gasket, thermostat and gasket, coolant temp sensor, mas air flow sensor, gas filter, air filter, camshaft sensor, evap purge solenoid and an evap purge vent valve for a total fix of $1600 but they recommended I let them replace engine with used engine for $1900. Considering the size of the work, I decided to bring to dealer for second opinion. Dealer told me all I needed was mass airflow sensor and evap solenoid and replaced them plus oil change and air filter for $300. Ed's quoted me $320 alone for the mass air flow sensor which is a $50 part and 5 minute job. Dealer actually told me my car doesn't even have a camshaft sensor which ed's told me needed replacement and they also said one of my coolant hoses was removed which was causing temp issues. Sure enough after the fix, passed the emissions no problem and check engine light has been off ever since, going on about 3 months now.
