Brought my mom's car to to the shop. Got a code P0304. The cylinder 4 misfired. Got excessive billing for one coil replacement and diagnostic charge, despite the fact that I provided the code upfront. When I got the car back a new coil was on cylinder 3. When I have questioned this, the way it was explained to me is that in order to test it, a good coil from the cylinder 3 was moved to the cylinder 4 and the bad coil was placed on the cylinder 3. When the test confirmed that the coil was bad, a brand-new coil was placed on the cylinder 3 and the working coil was kept on the cylinder 4 to save time. However, two days later I got another engine check and sent the car back. This time I was told that the cylinder 3 misfired and I would need to replace it again for about the same amount of money. Replace a brand-new coil installed just two days earlier? When I questioned it, I was told that I must have misunderstood, and it wasn't a coil 3. It looks like someone was trying to take advantage on my elderly mom. On top of that, I was told that there are issues with the front suspension and that they would need to fix it for additional price, where in fact other mechanic told me later, there are no issues. No thank you, I am not going back, and I am not recommending this place. I did some inquiries after the fact, and other places would have charged me a fraction of the price for this service.

I've known Marshall since around 1980. In fact he's my father's first cousin. I had a 1977 Camero and Marshall helped fix my car and he did a nice job. At that time, Marshall had a thriving auto repair business operating out of his garage. Today he has built a large automotive repair business on over 50 years of personal hands-on experience. My family has been taking our cars here for decades, always a good experience. Marshall and his team do amazing work! I got rear ended recently and you can t tell at all after the work they did, looks brand new :-) They even had a good relationship with the enterprise car rental on Western, who let me leave the keys with Chicago Car Care to pick up my rental for me. Overall, an excellent experience even with supply issues. If you are looking for a car shop that is honest, great at communicating and does quality repair work, this is the place!

I love this place. It's not fancy, but don't be fooled by the office interior. The service and quality more than make up for it.I first visited this place when my old car broke down over a decade ago. After 9 years without a car, as soon as my new car had issues, I remember this place immediately and made an appointment.Marshall and others are very friendly and trustworthy. They will explain your options plainly without going into "sales pitch" mode.As most people know, taking your car to a big-name or chain mechanic means you will never leave without getting pressured to add on hundreds of dollars of additional services. They always seem to find a laundry list of other things they insist need to be done ASAP no matter what.Not Chicago Car Care - when I was told my service was completed and that everything else looked OK, I was somewhat shocked. You won't find that integrity anywhere else.

They are always correct with their diagnosis of the issue and most important, they are HONEST. I have all too often found car repair places in Chicago that are not. Marshall is very knowledgeable and understanding about everything to do with cars. I brought my car in after an accident and he helped me through the whole process. My car came out looking better than when I bought it! They are extremely quick and efficient. I highly recommend Chicago Car Care. They are honest and do amazing work. I will only use them for body work from here on out!

One Of The Best I've been doing business with Marshall Castle and his team since they were Marshall's Car Castle on California and Pratt. Now re-established as Chicago Car Care just south of Northside College Prep High School, they continue their tradition of great service at competitive prices.Poorly done car repairs not only cost you money, but they are also hazardous to your personal safety. This is never a problem at Chicago Car Care. Marshall and his crew are topnotch automotive technicians who keep their ASE certifications up to date. I get only fast, reliable repairs here, and Marshall stands behind all work done in his garage.I like to think I know more about the workings of cars than the average Joe (um, well, as Marshall will tell you, EVERY man likes to think he knows more about the workings of cars than the average Joe...), but cars are very complex machines, and there's no doubt in my mind that an auto mechanic who wanted to take advantage of me would have little trouble doing so. But the fact remains that cars often require expensive repairs and preventive maintenance, so it's critical to your financial health to have an honest automotive technician. I would challenge anybody to find a more honest businessman than Marshall Castle.A talented, trustworthy mechanic helps keep you safe and saves you money in the long run, which is why I highly recommend Chicago Car Care.

Chicago Car Care is the best! Marshall Castle and his team are personable, professional, and knowledgeable. Took the time to explain and show me exactly what had happened to my brakes and gave me an honest estimate. They did my oil change while I waited, and kept me updated throughout the process. They have a nice comfy couch to wait on, too.

This is an honest and reasonably priced auto repair shop which is not that common these days. Marshall is a real nice guy and definitely knows how to fix cars. I had all kinds of trouble with my engine and now it's running great. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

If you are looking for an honest repair shop in Chicago, look no further than Chicago Car Care. Marshall is simply amazing. I brought my VW Jetta to him multiple times and he always fixes my problem while charging me a fair price. It s rare to find a repair shop that treats you like family. Have brought 5 cars to Marshall and Howard over the years so I see firsthand how their years of experience make them highly knowledgeable about anything you might experience no matter how common or how unusual, and no matter what year, make and model. I also see how they treat you with honesty, work quickly and without errors, and price fairly. Never apply pressure to do more work so they can make the sale. Also have friendly space, wifi and comfortable leather couch where I have spent many mornings logged onto work and getting work done. Try them and you wont ever want to go anywhere else.

I have been using different people in the area for oil changes, because my regular guy is not always able to do them the same day. I called Chicago Car Care, and the guy gave me a time to come in to be serviced right away. I figured that I'd be waiting around like most places, but I was really serviced right away! They were very friendly and professional. They made sure to give my car a quick look over to ensure everything was good, and the price was much less than I've paid at other shops in the area. Good, honest, and fast service, will definitely use in the future!

I've been bringing my car to Marshall at Chicago Car Care for over 10 years now. The work that is done is always top notch! I always get a full detailed explanation of what is wrong with my car and why it needs to get fixed. It is always done in a timely manner and not once in all these years have I had any issues. It's difficult finding an honest mechanic who does a quality job, and these guys are just that. It also helps that these guys are ASE certified (which is only the top 5 percent of mechanics out there). Whatever the issue may be, feel confident that you are in the best hands at Chicago Car Care!

I'm a guy who knows very little about cars but I want to learn. Recently bought a Jetta and want to make sure I know everything I need to know to take good care of her. The guys at Chicago Car Care were the first mechanics I've ever gone to and they were absolutely great. All I needed was an oil change and just a brief check to make sure the car was in good condition.There was an issue with finding some required oils and fluids for the certain car I have and they spent a good while checking there computers and data bases to find the right info. They made sure everything was car specific and that I had the right material. I obviously had a lot of questions and concerns as to how to properly take care of the car and they were very polite and helpful in answering all of them and giving me a good idea of where to start. I left knowing a lot more than when I went in. They were very professional and reasonable and I was pretty shocked by how low the price was given how much time I spent there.I will definitely be going to them in the future should I need further assistance with my vehicle and would highly recommend them to others as well. 5 stars hands down.

Picked up my car from Chicago Car Care on Wednesday and it's running great! I moved to Oak Park earlier this year but nobody fixes my cars other than Marshall. He's the best!

Save yourself time and money by getting the right mechanic from the start. I had a problem with my air conditioner which wasn't fixed after having taken it to three different mechanics. One changed a filter, another the fluid, still another found nothing wrong. Of course the AC would work in their shops but quit when I needed it in stop and go traffic. Suffice it to say, I needed a mechanic who could diagnose and fix the root of the problem-a detective if you will. That is what I found at Chicago Car Care. Marshall knows his stuff. He explained why I was getting intermittent cold air and even showed me the tiny little piece that was causing the problem. So not only did I get a fully functioning AC in one day (thanks to his efforts to find and pick up the necessary part) but I gained an education about my car and a mechanic I can trust. To me that's priceless. I highly recommend this shop. It's the cleanest and most courteous place you'll find.
