Took my car there twice to get flats fixed, fair price and friendly guys at the front desk! Be flexible though because they aren t always the fastest but they ll get the job done

They open at 7:30 AM I pull up to get air for my tires today 7/7/23 Manger( Heavy set African American) sitting in his truck in the parking lot I go in to do business and no one is there.. Just a empty store.. He then gets out his truck and comes to the counter and ask could he help me.. I said I need to get some air in my tires He then proceeded to tell me he has no one there and they don t get there until after 9 What kind of mess is this??? It s business hours yet you are not doing business . You guys could never work on my vehicles

Please think twice before allowing this location to work on your car.I brought my car in for all new tires on 10/12/22. I was charged $892.71 for tires, labor, and a lifetime install package AND THE INSTALLATION WAS DONE WRONG!!!!!I noticed about a five days after the new tires were installed that something was wrong. It took five days because I don t drive much at all.My car didn t have ANY issues besides a flat tire prior to 10/12/22. After service here my car would shake at 40 mph. I tried to have this location correct their mistake three different times. Each time I was given an excuse of how it couldn t be their fault and that I would need to leave my car until they could get to it.I finally decided to take my car to a different Car-X location(in Evergreen) to be looked at. My car was checked within the 1st hour and it was discovered that someone at the Stoney Island location, put six weights instead of one or two on one of the back tires.Not to mention that the customer service at this location is terrible!Service: Tires

My ABS light was on they tried to charge me $1,500 I got it fixed at Midas for $200 what the heck they doing idk but I ll never go there again

Going through nearby construction we hit something with our tire on our way out of Chicago from a vacation. We pulled in almost flat in a panic...they were willing to quickly jump in and get the tire changed and helped us with a wheel lock issue. Very friendly and helpful - would definitely recommend! I went to this place with no issues and requesting an oil change. Waited for 4 hours and when I got my car back the check engine light was on, and my car started making noises (none of this happened before). Was told by the manager, the light would go away, and things are fine. Next thing I know, my car shuts down with me and my children inside.I ended up stranded on the side of the road. Called the shop and was told I would be reimbursed for the tow to their location. When the tow came, the manager said I MIGHT receive a partial reimbursement, MIGHT. Have been asking to speak to the District Manager, Curtis, for over a week to no avail. While trying to get a resolution, another manager Tim, tried to speak down to me. He seem lack-luster and calling me "sweetheart" and telling me what their investigators would do, as if I was lying and should be scared. Now going on two weeks out, still no resolution and my car will now need extensive repair.If you value your car, time, money, and respect, do not go here. My first and last time going to ANY Car- X ever.Service: Oil change

Last Friday i booked appointment for diagnostic for my truck here for 10 AM on Tuesday. Wasn't told that I would need to leave it and waited for hours after being told they would get to it ny noon. Had to leave for work so i left it and was told they would call when it was done. Called that evening and they hadn't looked at it yet after being told that it was being pulled into the garage as I was leaving. Called the next morning and they still hadn't looked it it. Called again at 3 PM and they still hadn't looked at it. I went and took my truck elsewhere.

The sign says they are open from 7:30AM to 6PM. It s 7:50AM and the store is closed. No one is at the location.

Love this place, they are always honest with their recommendations and fair with their pricing. Went in today with an issue, knowing it was pretty minor - they were able to squeeze me in and make the repair in less than 20 minutes. Highly recommend!

This was my second time at the Car X located on 74th and Stony Island within a month. My vehicle had more issues my second time presenting than my first time. I was told my vehicle was "old" and that was why the new issues had happened. I voiced my concern that I didn't have these issues before I initially brought my car to them and if there were issues when they first assessed my car why weren't the issues they found on my second visit seen at the first visit? Gentle reminder it was my second visit within a month. They only offered to fix the problem they made from initial visit and the additional findings were going to cost. Why weren't these issues identified during initial assessment if they were thorough in their review? I WOULD NEVER recommend ANYONE to have their car serviced here. I have been waiting for customer service to reach out to me as well. CAR X is a car repair predator, they sabotage your vehicle so you have no choice but to spend more money on labor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HAVING YOUR CAR SERVICED AT THIS LOCATION. They are scammers!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

Melvin and his team are fantastic (and honest). Great service! Great price! He not only explained what I needed showed me so I had a clear understanding of the work. He also helped me prioritize what work needed done immediately and what could happen progessively.

The best Car-X hands down. I ve taken my car here a few times and never had any issues. Jimmy is always honest, fair and reliable. If i have any questions or concerns Jimmy has no problem addressing them. It s always great to get a visual explanation of what s going on with your car and these guys will definitely do just that.

My light came on advising low tire pressure. I called CarX and was told no appointments available but I could bring it now. They took me immediately told me tire leak around rim. Bernard was polite and courteous. Melvin was professional and direct. Melvin could work on his tone but he did give me complete confidence that my car was in good hands. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE... The old $150 diagnosis scam... I brought my car in because the check engine light was on. As I'm in the waiting room I'm reading there reviews & noticing there are a lot of reviews of customers saying they've been ripped off by them. I questioned the guy at the desk about the reviews & there service he responded very nonchalant. I decided to just take my car & go elsewhere now 15 minutes later I'm here at a different place 3G auto repair. They want only $40 for a diagnostic & they just seem more concerned when talking to them I'll take my chances here!

I highly recommend this shop! I received superb and professional customer service both over the phone and in the shop. The manager (Jimmy) and mechanic took the necessary time to explain and demonstrate the issues with my car and the repair options. They provided me a great deal of information with no pressure in the decision making process. Finally, a shop that can be trusted. And their prices are lower than all of the area shops that I consulted! They have a new repeat customer.

I was at this location today and they tried to scam me out of my money. I was gave a quote of almost $700.00 for mass air flow sensor and air temperature sensor. I called the Car x in Naperville they told me for the same exact repair the cost would be 90.00 make this make sense. This place is over charging people that live in the community that's trying to support their business. Do not go here.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I had an Appt for 1 just a simple inspection so I can know what parts to purchase and it led to me waiting a hr and a half then I said let me ask how long the wait because my vehicle was never moved out of the parking space all this time nor approached, a guy then told me another 45 mins to a hour remember this was an appointment and just for an inspection that s it. To add, I over heard them talking saying if they not paying they gotta wait even though the inspections are free that was the last straw so I left and went across the street to Midas by the way I highly recommend them I was in and out and forgot all about Car x

There is nothing that I prize more in business than ethics.I came to Car X one Saturday morning to have a persistent, metallic creaking sound coming from my Toyota's passenger side investigated. Jimmy was on staff at the front desk, and he greeted me cordially. After I described my car's troubles, both he and the other mechanic on duty (whose name I forget) worked to quickly diagnose the issue: a broken wheel strut. The total cost of repairing the broken strut, replacing the other one, and the subsequent wheel alignment would have been north of $1000.A less scrupulous mechanic could have easily pocketed that nice bit of change from me, but Jimmy actually took the time to advise me on my car's warranty package. He said that I should call Toyota and see if the work was covered. It was covered in full! I went to my dealer and got the work done that day thanks to Jimmy's expert recommendation.Even though the guys at Car X were not directly responsible for my repairs, they have made a loyal customer out of me. A professional willing to sacrifice a lucrative job for the sake of providing his customer with the best experience is a professional with whom I want to work for the foreseeable future.Thanks again, guys!

Jimmy and Melvin were very helpful with getting my spare tire on this morning! I was already impressed with their customer service, but then I witnessed them be a blessing to a young man from the community who was seeking transportation assistance with getting to school. They didn't hesitate or ask questions, other than how much he needed. Great guys who took customer service to another. Thank you brothers!

I would have given 5 stars but your policy changed regarding inspection. There is a separate cost of inspection which no longer goes towards the cost of repairs. I came to CarX because of price gauging at the dealership. I may as well go back to the dealership if CarX is going to start with all these additional charges and fees.
