What a great team! I always feel confident (especially as a woman) that they will find whatever issue is going on and call to let me know the damage and cost prior to doing any repairs. And I ve been going to this shop for years.It s definitely my go to Mechanic shop in Chicago and can easily become yours too!They ve done work on my old 2006 Lexus ES 330 and my 2019 Volvo S90. My dad also comes here for his 2015 Lexus ES 350.I recommend calling before stopping by so they know to expect you, they do tend to stay busy. Which just shows how reliable they are.I ve referred friends and family to this shop as well.Truly a great example of a trusted business! Gary the owner has never steered me wrong!10/10!!

I brought my 2013 GTI in for suspension work they found more than dealership had told me I needed. Gave me good price and was able to finish work same day !! There was a lot of work needed so kudos to them and here I am couple of weeks later and running close to new (car is a 2013) no complaints yet !

I m new to the area and needed a place that I could trust . Let me just say I loved my experience at Auto Haus! Super-friendly staff the guy even came out and changed my headlight for me. Excellent service. Definitely comingback

Gary was very thorough and the car runs great There was a lot of work to be done, a lot of labor and I still had the car back in 2 days. After dealing with a shady, mechanic and one you gave misinformation; it was refreshing, come up with one that was honest and thorough. He detected the problem immediately. Thanks Gary and the team.

Autohaus recently replaced the turbo engine of my 2015 VW Golf and my car is once again powerful and fun to drive. Reasonable pricing and excellent service. Highly recommend this repair shop.

Avoid at all costs. This shop is in network with my warranty and I went in with the expectation that I would be taken seriously and given honest work. First of all, it took them over a week to even look at my car. After multiple attempts to ask for a status update they said it needed thousands of dollars in repair to address the problem (including a whole new set of brakes even though they were recently replaced). My warranty company and I paid what was needed and I picked up my car almost a week and a half after dropping it off. The very next day, all the lights came back on and my brakes started to fail on the highway (again). I called the manager and said none of their repairs had addressed the issue and I will have to risk my safety to bring my car back to their shop who did not offer to pay for a tow. I somehow managed to make it back to them that same day. Before I dropped it off, I called around for a second opinion. When I arrived I communicated that this should be a sensor issue and appears to be a common problem for my make/model. It took them another week to look at my car (after I repeatedly called for a status update). They called back and said they couldn t identify the issue and they needed to bring it to a Jeep dealership where I would have to pay an additional $140 to run a full diagnostics. They then left me a voicemail two hours later saying they were finally able to identify the problem which was an $180 dollar sensor, just as I had said originally. They said they went ahead and did the repair and the car is ready to be picked up WITHOUT my approval and WITHOUT even attempting to submit a claim through my warranty for the added expense which is why I brought my car to this shop in the first place. To summarize, thousands of dollars were given to this shop for an $180 problem.Service: Electrical

Scam much? If Autohaus did a quality job identifying the issues with a 10 year old car, I would have not agreed to services totaling $4k in a month.I brought my car in because the engine sounded funny, the oil light went on and off, and it had a hard time shifting gears.They had my car for over a week, apparently they didn t check the oil levels or serpentine belt. I had to call them every day to get anything done; they kept forgetting or someone was out. They replaced $1600 worth of suspension, tried to charge me $1900+ but never asked for approval to do the work. Nothing else was wrong they claim.I get the car back. It makes more noise. I bring it to Honda. The engine oil is DRY and belt about to snap from dry rot. Rear brakes are at 3mm and routers need to be replaced.

WOW, they are absolutely the BEST! I needed new brakes on my Audi and after getting an astronomical quote from the dealership, I did my research and came across AutoHaus. Gary and Anthony are absolutely wonderful to work with and are both friendly and professional. They not only did the work quickly, they were able to do it for a fraction of cost versus the dealership and with genuine Audi parts. Don't hesitate, call them for your auto needs!***Second review: Don't hesitate to bring you car to Autohaus! They are honest, reliable, timely and beat dealer pricing by a mile. Anthony and team truly care about their customers and they provide good, honest service that they 100% stand behind. We've been bring our car there regularly for about 2 years now and they have constantly helped extend the life of our 2005 Subaru Outback and keep it in tip top shape!They are typically pretty busy so make sure you allow for some extra time if special work is needed, but you won't be disappointed you did!Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Tire rotations, Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto maintenance, Auto brake replacement, Oil change

Had a great experience at Autohaus. Everyone was very friendly and kind and my repair was efficient, quick, and transparent. One of the only times I can say I genuinely laughed and smiled the whole time while at the mechanic. My car is a bit older, but they treated it with care and got her running better than normal for a fair price, and in like a quarter of the time of the last place I visited! Will be coming back!

I ve come to Autohaus twice now - once for a catalytic converter replacement and once for an oil change. Everyone I ve worked with has been absolutely lovely (particularly Anthony!) and they ve been very professional and communicative, even when things have gone awry. It feels like a true neighborhood, local spot. The kind of place you ll take your car to for generations. Highly recommend!

Great local shop! Brought a Nissan Versa in for a drive belt change and a couple other minor repairs. When the shop got backed up with work orders, they stayed after hours to make sure I'd have my car back by my needed date. Definitely recommend!

HIGHLY recommend this place. They were awesome to work with! My car battery died and they took my appointment on literally a 10 minutes notice to swap in a new battery. On top of getting me in on short notice they were extremely friendly, trustworthy, and walked me through everything. A lot of auto shops in the city are sketchy and will trick you into paying tons of money and I can confidently say AutoHaus is a trusty worthy and skilled place to take your car.Service: Auto battery maintenance

I ve taken my car here twice within the last year and they ll have a lifelong customer as long as I stay in chicago! Both times were emergencies and without appointments my car was ready within days; Growing up my dad was a mechanic and I would see the strain his passion would put on his body, so I have the patience and respect for people in this field I m just really appreciative I ve found a go to place that I can trust and support! I came to Autohaus to get my car checked out after it was hesitating to start. I dropped the car off Tuesday morning and wasn't informed until Thursday afternoon that the part they needed to fix my car wouldn't be here until at least Friday (at the earliest). I was hesitant to fix the car due to the owner admitting the car may not be worth fixing, but they had already done an oil change. A staff member was very rude to me when I called to ask if the car started and accused me of trying to get a free oil change out of them. I told them I would be happy to pay for the oil change as long as the car started and I could come pick it up. They rudely brushed off my question saying, "we'll get it to start.." before hanging up on me and when I came to pick it up (after I had already paid for the oil change) I noticed they had to jump the car to get it to start. I then brought the car to my trusted mechanic to get a second opinion and he notified me that I needed an oil change. I was confused since the guys at Autohaus insisted this had been done. He said it was missing 2.5 quarts of oil and that the car battery was actually the issue (despite Autohaus insisting it was the fuel pump and quoting me 2.5x the price of my trusted mechanic). I thought I was in good hands due to the positive reviews, but my word of advice is if you want a patient mechanic that is willing to explain anything to you or efficiently communicate when your car will be ready for pickup, this may not be your place. I will say, Gary (the owner) did offer to change the oil in front of me for the next oil change (not sure who has time for this) or credit the money back for the 2.5 quarts of oil I was missing, but I don't plan on going back there for any car service in the future. I was hesitant to write a negative review even after the staff here was very rude, but the missing oil was the last straw.

I have been going here for a couple of years now. I have had too many bad experiences with autoshops with ones lying to simply get more money out of me. So coming here despite of the good reviews, my guard was up and protected. Autohaus has proven the past couple of years they do not fall under the many other bad apples in this industry.The people here (big shout out to Anthony) have taken care of me and my car numerous times as well as considered the most frugal route for me. I am beyond thankful for their integrity and care!IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN INTEGRAL AUTO SHOP (which are hard to find) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AUTOHAUS!THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING!

I called Autohaus to get a non biased opinion regarding some potential German cars I was looking into buying (to know which one breaks the least :)). Anthony answered the call and was absolutely amazing. He spent 20 min with me on the phone answering any question I had and eventually even helped me make a decision on what model I should go with. I will definitely come back here for regular maintenance and repairs once I get my dream car :). Thank you Anthony once again!

We are new to Chicago and our car hit something on the road. Anthonie took a look for us on the same day and got us back on the road. His staff were kind and helpful over the phone and when we got there in person. The shop was clean, safe, and everyone was very professional. Definitely our new neighborhood mechanic.

I highly recommend Autohaus! Anthony and the rest of the team were great to work with. We brought our Civic in for a general service tuneup as it s been a long while since we last did that (check all fluids, inspection, oil change, etc.) and being in the city, we don t drive the car too often. It took a few hours. It s well located so we went to a nearby restaurant and coffee shop and worked, so it worked out well.They gave us an estimate of costs over the phone when they were close to finishing up and then recapped everything they did when we were paying the bill. Most importantly, they didn t try to oversell or back us into a corner on anything we didn t need and they certainly didn t make us feel dumb for not knowing the ins/outs of everything, which can be rare in the auto service industry. In the past I ve braced myself to be swindled, but here it just seems like a more honest straight forward business. We will be back for any future car maintenance and telling anyone who needs an auto shop to contact Autohaus!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I brought in my Audi here for an oil change. I usually go to the dealership because I m a girl and I get intimidated easily by maintenance guys telling me I need everything under the sun replaced. I called and the owner was very kind and welcoming over the phone. The rate was cheaper than going to the dealership. When I got there the owner and his son were super friendly and I felt comfortable and they were super quick. Thank you AutoHaus! They are committed to giving the best service but also a great customer experience. Would recommend for quality honest work on your car.Service: Oil change

a month ago i asked for a quote to get my spark plugs changed and tires rotated on yelp. a bunch of businesses got back to me, but they were one of the only places that didn't want me to make a phone call to set up everything, which is a big plus for me. they also quoted me less than half of what two other places wanted for the same service.dropped my car off in the morning, picked it up the same afternoon.awesome experience:)

I've been going to Autohaus since 2019, but just last week I brought in my Toyota Highlander to get the once over because I was moving cross country. Needed some work done, they showed me what was wrong, and was able to get it fixed in the same day. The car ran smoother than it has in years and I felt safe the whole drive. These guys are fast, honest, and great. Going to miss having them as my neighborhood mechanic.

Autohaus is great. I have taken my Audi there a few times now. The communication from thefront desk to the actual person working on your car is excellent. I was kept informed the entire time my car was being worked on, and options were provided to me each time. I know this is a family owned business, and I feel like Gary and the team treat me like a member. Always transparent and honest. For example, Audi told me that the rubber bushing in my control arms were worn and needed to be replaced. Of course Audi was happy to do the bare minimum and charge the most. This shop replaced the entire control arm for the same price as Audi s rubber.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes
