Orlando and his crew are beyond talented and experienced. They can tackle any difficult diagnosis, track down tricky oil leaks, and knock out routine maintenance. I made the mistake of taking a hard to diagnose EVAP code on my Subaru to another shop who only threw new parts at it, assuming it must need a new charcoal canister b/c that s usually what the issue is- and didn t solve the problem a thousand dollars later. Orlando was able to do a true diagnostic to find the issue. A lot of shops don t take the time to properly inspect the car, but Orlando will. Along with that, he is great at explaining issues and will walk you through his thought process and procedure. He also provides pictures, status updates, humor, and more. I have since gotten all my repairs done here, and Orlando was even able to install an after market stereo for me. This is the only shop I trust! Thank you guys for keeping my aging lil roo running

Best honest affordable mechanic shop which is unusual to have all that in the same sentence. We had a major issue with our front tires wobbling and had an important meeting in the burbs the next day. He said he couldn't do it until next week but finding out about my meeting, he scheduled me in and got it done the morning after. True hero!So glad I found Orlando and his shop. He takes time to show you what he did, gives his honest opinion on what to do.

I would highly recommend this shop. Orlando is kind, quick, and very fair in pricing. He took a look at our car after we hit a pothole. He got us in to look at the problem within 10 min of arriving and didn t charge us for taking a look. We didn t end up getting the problem fixed there, since the car was drivable and we were headed back home, but he diagnosed the issue and gave us great advice.

I am a terrible driver, I hit the garage door four times,the same spot each time.especially the last one. I was very Frustrated!I think I ll have to fix it up and park it on the side of the road. So I connected and drove the two places . One of them told me that I didn t need a replace any parts and that I needed to pay $200 for the labor fee. While the other told me that I needed to replace a part and that the cost of the part was $60 and the labor fee was $100. The total price was $160.I was so confused as to why there was such a big difference between the two places ?! I didn t know what to do. Then my coworker suggested me to try the third place. So I found Orlando and contacted him.The next morning he repaired my car on the road outside of the repair shop without charging me a penny. Those reviews are all true. I am so grateful to him. I wish him a safe life and all good things come to him.

They were unable to do the needed work on my SUV, but they provided plenty of information and advise. I will seek them for future auto concerns. I don't trust auto repair people easily. I trust them.

There are so many good reviews of this place and I just had to try them out even though there are shops a lot closer to me.I have to say that Orlando and the rest of the guys were amazing. I have family and friends who also own an auto shop (unfortunately not in Chicago), so I've been around the environment a lot and I can tell you that besides taking my car to my own family, Auto Repair Plus would 100% be my go to.The thing that makes a huge difference is that they are fair, great at communicating, thoughtful and very transparent about everything.If you have any repairs or maintenance to do, this is definitely the place to go.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Oil change

I had a lot of issues with my car and was taking it to a chain location due to convenience of their location. I kept on having issues and found out about this shop online. I am so glad I did because Orlando and his staff did a remarkable job on my car. He clearly explained all the issues and told me what exactly what was going on. He gave me a great deal on all the work they did and when they found other issues, they fixed them with no additional cost. My car was to the point where I would have to get a new one and Orlando was able to fix my car. If you are looking for a honest and reliable mechanic, Orlando is your guy!Service: Engine repair

Five stars for Orlando and the crew! On a visit to Chicago and started to have some mechanical issue, with a very short time to diagnose, Orlando came highly recommended, and justly so, he made sure my issue was dealt with and I was safe to continue my trip. Highly recommend for honesty and reliability. Couldn't recommend more.

I cannot tell you, in a short review, how much I appreciate Orlando and his staff. My family was at a huge volleyball tournament over Easter weekend. The valet at the hotel called and said that my car had completely dumped all of the coolant on the ground. Being 5 hours away from home we were in a huge panic, not knowing if we were going to be stranded in Chicago. We left a message and they called us back the next morning. After hearing our dilemma, Orlando told us to bring the car in immediately and he would see what he could do. He actually pulled one of his employees off of another job and they were able to assess, call and get the part, and have my car fixed that same afternoon. This may not sound like a big deal, but it was Saturday before Easter and most shops were closed. The fact that they knew we were in crisis and took us on short notice speaks volumes. They care about helping people and are understanding. As one employee said, "We are a simple shop and just want to help."Service: General repairs & maintenance

Amazing service!! Definitely recommend if your looking for dependable and knowledgeable mechanics. Just moved to the area and was worried about finding someone trustworthy. The price was fair and the owner was upfront about costs. What I really appreciated was the fact the the owner and everyone who worked there were so nice and took the time to explain what was wrong and what they did to fix it. I m not good with cars but I still want to know what s going on with mine to make sure it lasts for years to come! The owner made sure he took the time to explain everything and gave me recommendations to save time/money in the future. He didn t talk down to me either, which has happened at other shops. I honestly left feeling like I learned about my car which was unexpected and a really nice feeling. Will definitely continue coming here and the future and highly recommend to people in the area!

This place is great. Orlando diagnosed what was wrong with my car and got it in and out in 24 hours. He's a really nice guy, too and I could tell immediately that this is a trustworthy shop. They gave us a really fair price and saved us a bunch of money, and our car is running great now. Worth a visit if your car is having issues.

I booked an appointment here not even thinking my car might still be under warranty. Orlando looked at it, ensured me that nothing looked catastrophically wrong, and encouraged me to have a dealer look at it just in case it was covered by the warranty. That kind of honesty isn't something you come across very often.

Wow! I can t say enough how amazing this place was! Olando is the real deal! He was extremely kind and genuine and his staff helped extra to get my husband and i on the road again. We had a suspicion that our alternator was going bad and had 4+ hours of driving still to go. We found this place online and they were able to get us in that day thankfully! He walked us through what tests he was doing to make sure it was the alternator and not something much smaller/larger of a problem! He was super informative and helpful and all-around genuine and kind, the honesty he and his team have is very wholesome and highly appreciated! Would 100/10 recommend to anyone, especially if you re traveling through, you can absolutely trust Orlando and his team to get you back on the road safely!Service: General repairs & maintenance

This is a great place to bring your vehicle. Orlando is an honest and trustworthy mechanic. He and his staff do good work. Even with a busy shop he takes the time to give a thoughtful diagnosis and goes over the best options with you. I'll definitely come back for future repairs.

Orlando could of had me for a lot more $$ - i was ignorant to the extent of the problems of my vehicle. I was asking for a Transmission fluid flush on a Criagslist Car I purchased, and he explained to me, that the fluid was relatively new and did not recommend the unnecessary maintenance.you want someone who will shoot you straight, come here - I'll be sure to use his services in the future.Service: Brakes

Orlando is one of the best mechanics that I ve ever had work on my truck before. He is very knowledgeable in his craft and is always upfront and honest when it comes to working on any vehicles. I brought my truck to Orlando. He reviewed everything and told me that he has a 50/50 chance of getting the truck to work. He ended up finding out exactly what was wrong with the engine and got it to work. It s always a pleasure to work with Orlando and his staff and I will always be a loyal customer. I recommend Orlando to anyone that has issues with any type of vehicle and I will be bringing all my cars to his shop!

I ve had horrible experiences with auto repair shops, but this was not one of them. Shady and dishonest auto repair places give the industry a bad name. The more experience I got, the more research I would do on my own.Nowadays, whenever my car encounters issues....I always look up the possibilities of what the issue could be. Not only did Auto Repair Plus prove that they did their own research, but they were also very honest and accommodating.My car wouldn t start and I almost had to get it towed to the place! They were very understanding and were able to get my car in - THE SAME DAY!Orlando was amazing. He showed me what parts needed to be replaced and didn t try to make money off of me.SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES! Especially ones like this one. Life is tough during this pandemic. Orlando even wore a mask when I saw him in-person. I would recommend anyone. As long as you re respectful, I m sure these guys will be the same way. 10/10 Service: General repairs & maintenance

I never write reviews. It takes either an intensely good or bad experience to motivate me to take the effort to write about it. But I had such an outstanding experience with this mechanic, I felt so compelled to write this review on google/yelp.I brought my car in recently for a regular maintenance check. I met Orlando, who looked the car over, and told me what I'd likely need done. Then, he spotted a huge dent on my car that I'd had for years. Without me even asking, he got a suction and popped it out for me for free!! Btw, I've had this dent for years and brought it to 5-6 auto shops throughout NYC and Chicago that all quoted me $700. But Orlando was honest and real with me, and said if I was driving in the city, there's no reason for such an expensive fix.Orlando is SO honest, fair, and thoughtful (for example, because my car is under certain mileage, he used company-specific parts in case my car is under warranty and I need to take it to the dealer in the future). If fixing the dent was any indication, he really just wants to help fix your car without upcharging.And he's quick, knowledgeable, and skilled. As someone who knows very little about cars, I always wondered how mechanics learn the large body of knowledge to fix all the different kinds of cars (like my 2019 Honda seems more computer than car sometimes..), and it s clear that he s well experienced and read. Which really can t be said about everyone!Also, Orlando took the time to educate me about the interval of time to replace things, what I needed to look for, and even how to sand down/paint over my residual dent. I never even asked him to do all of this. He just makes the extra effort and clearly cares about his customers.I've NEVER had such a good experience with a mechanic! I referred him to my entire residency program. In a city full of auto shops, he's DEFINITELY worth the drive even if he's out of your neighborhood!! In the February 2015, my car would not start in the very cold months. I had to get a jump in order to start it. I took it to Auto Repair Plus and found out that I needed a new battery as my current voltage was low. Unfortunately, I didn't have all the money at the time to purchase one. To my surprise and pleasure, Orlando was very kind. He said that he didn't want me to get stranded, thus he gave me a new battery and allowed me to pay him the very next day!!! I was so appreciative. My car started without a problem the next morning in that frigid weather. The service provided by Auto Repair Plus was the best!Dee

I personally didn t think anyone as wholesome as these guys existed these days. These are great guys, very honest, they explain everything in detail to you. I was driving through and broke down, and these guys bumped me up and stayed late to get my vehicle fixed. They are reasonably priced and are very kind and genuine. ORLANDO IS AMAZING. I know cars fairly well, and this guy is very honest. Takes the time to explain, in great detail, the dirty details and why he's doing what he's has too. In my case my car was broken into... the ignition cylinder was ripped out and the immobilizer was broken. I dropped the car off Fri late.. he had me out Monday for less then the est... btw. Mon was a holiday.. ccday.. or indigenous peoples day.. never the less. Orlando did everything I asked and more!. The guy asked me if he could keep a few of the elements to break down and then explained what he wanted to know. I was on a road trip and had limited time.. he killed it. Service is king. Thanks Orlando and crew.

Orlando is awesome! His prices are way more reasonable than anywhere I have gone in the past, he is thorough and explains everything he does and why, and he is determined to find the cause of inexplicable issues. I am referring anyone I can to him and I am thankful I discovered this gem of a repair shop.
