I've never trusted an auto shop more! Wally takes the time to dumb down his explanations for me, and provides me with cost-effective solutions before suggesting I replace any parts. Just one example, the Hyundai dealership told me I absolutely needed to replace my catalytic converter and quoted me $4,000. Took it to Wally instead and he recommended I first buy some catalytic converter cleaner from Autozone. Haven't had any issues since and Wally checks it for me every oil change. Can't say enough good things.

Wally worked on my dad's 6 plumbing co. trucks 30 years ago, he has worked on my cars for over 25 years. He likes my dog, Milou. Ive recommended him to good friends along the way. Wally has excellent joke delivery, very funny guy. Always good work with fair pricing.

Brought my car in after an accident for repair and had a terrible experience with Wally. First time I brought it in, he said they were busy and to come in a week. Came in again, and he wouldn t even look at it. I told him the issues- that my tie rod and wheel bearing needed replacing/repair. He acted as if I didn t know what I was talking about and says he doesn t think that s the issue while taking the time to correct my wording. Maybe take a look at the car if you won t take my word for it? Extremely rude and a waste of time. Go somewhere else!

Long, long, long time customer of over 30 years.Wouldn't have stayed with Wally and his crew for all these years if their work was below average, but in fact it has been exemplary service. We always feel treated, and charged, like family or neighbors.

Albany Park Auto Clinic was recommended to me by someone who has lived in the area for a long time. He suggested that his family has been going to Wally for 40 years -- and I understand why.Everything about it was about as good as it can be -- the price, his attitude and obvious care to please his customers were all A+.He got me in right away, and my vehicle was out in about 3 or 4 hours. He also came in at a price lower than what I expected to pay. All around a very pleasant surprise.I would never hesitate to have Albany Park Auto Clinic work on my vehicles.

I ve never been treated better at an auto shop. I moved to Albany Park 3 years ago and each oil change and anything that has come up with my car I bring here. Wally is the absolute best.

They ve been our mechanic for 15 years. Everything from oil changes to replacing and axle. The service could easily command a higher price, but don t tell them that! We ve never had a doubt about the service or the results. We ve always been treated with respect and dignity and never feel like we ve been upsold. Our poor old van still runs great because of them.

My family have used them since My early childhood, somewhere between the late 70s & early 80s. I visit every year. On a couple of visits, I've been there to get oil changed and replace the windshield wipers. The prices, service, and quality of work have been wonderful. Wally, Mike, and the rest of the team are the best.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Wally is so professional and honest. Prices are fair and his work is great! Just be prepared to leave your car in the shop at least overnight. Make sure you have alternative transportation during repair.

Former customer reviews are very deceiving. The guy told me over the phone he would only be able to take my car for a ride 8 days out without diagnosing it. He was rude! He could not give me an answer about a faint knocking that is happening at approximately 20 mph speeds on my Civic. Just the phone conversation was bad enough for me to not trust this service.

The best place to take your car. Wally is great and the only one I trust. They are very good at what they do. Prices are good and the turn around time to get my car back has always been quick so I'm not without my car for too long.

Where do I start..1. Wally isn t trust worthy in my opinion. I ve been there three times. 2 out of 3 times he had misdiagnosed the issue with my car and replaced a part or offered to repair something. The last time I went there he diagnosed my car with an issue that would require me to disassemble the top of my engine. Took it to another shop and they diagnosed my problem correctly and it cost me less than $100. Wally s diagnosis was $500-$700.2. Wally is rude and pushy. Always in a rush and does not have good customer service skills. I asked if he could take a test drive because the problem he said he fixed when he replaced a part wasn t really the problem. So he hops into the drivers seat and start accelerating really hard down the neighborhood behind the shop. Hitting every single pot hole on the road. He was driving like he was angry at me. So he decided to take it out on my car.3. I believe he s a nice guy with some customers but if he gives you the treatment the same way he treated me then walk out immediately.Side note: I didn t have any experience with any other mechanic there. I am am only writing this review about Wally.

Wally and his staff are honest, reliable, and they do an excellent job of explaining what's going on with your car. They make you feel like you are a valued customer, and it shows with their sometimes long waits and repeat customers. I have dealt with many a sleazeball mechanic but these guys are legit!

Wally is an honest machanic. Like others have said, he has an odd sense of humor but he really is funny. So glad I found this place, he has great recommendations for places to go if he doesn't do it at his shop. Recommend a good place to he get a new key because home depot has been a nightmare!

I had a very poor experience with Wally. I will not be back to this shop again.I give Albany Park Auto Clinic a 1-star rating for:-Performing a repair on my car without permission-Trying to justify this procedure as necessary when I apparently didn't need it after all-Attempting to lie about other repairs on a fake bill-Being hostile and generally unfriendly about genuine questions that I had for themI brought my Chevy Tahoe into the shop this morning around 10am. I only needed the service engine light checked after it came on during a long cross-country drive because I was about to visit family in Traverse City. Wally said he would plug the car into their scanner and see what was up.I asked them to call when he knew what the problem was. Wally said that it should only take about an hour or so to know, and that they were a little busy todayI didn't receive a phone call all day, so I called back in around 4:30pm. This is where things got sketchy.Wally said that they did check the car and that the service engine code had something to do with my thermostat. Without telling me or giving me any sort of quote all day, Wally had allegedly replaced my thermostat with another to "fix my heat", which i never wanted.I told him that I didnt need heat in my car (although last I checked, my heat was fine) and asked if the car would make it to Traverse City in it's condition. He said yes, but insisted again that I "fix the heat." I asked what problems I could run into without fixing the heat. He stammered but couldn't tell me, besides that i wouldn't have heat.Needless to say, I jogged back to the shop to get my car.I tried talking to Wally in person about what the thermostat change would do for me, thinking maybe it was a misunderstanding that could be avoided off of the phone. He said, "well... your engine needs to run at a certain heat, but it's too cold", being incredibly vague and still unable to tell me exactly why it was a problem. When I asked why he already performed the procedure on my car without calling, he quickly became frustrated and said "fine, that'll be 40 dollars", and went to retrieve my bill.Wally apparently had already written a bill for all sorts of other "repairs" for my car. He realized this and quickly tried scratching them out when ringing me up at the register. Because his writing for the other "repairs" was still legible, he gave up and just drew up another bill, crumpling up the old. After paying him 40 dollars for the car scan, he gave me my key in a huff and ushered me out the door.Once again, I give Albany Park Auto Clinic a 1-star rating for:-Performing a repair on my car without permission-Trying to justify this procedure as necessary when I apparently didn't need it after all-Attempting to lie about other repairs on a fake bill-Being hostile and generally unfriendly about genuine questions that I had for them

I liked these guys a lot. They were fair and told me all services and pricing straight up. Did a couple of small diagnostic stuff for free. When they couldn't do soemthing they were upfront and suggested places to get it done.A couple of dad jokes were thrown in which I appreciate lolAll together great experience and I did not feel taken advantage of. My friend also goes here and she has not had a bad experience.

Excellent mechanic. Wally is very knowledgeable and the prices are fair. They don't try to add on extra repairs just for the sake of making money.

I'm a licensed aircraft mechanic and still head to this place for maintenance I dont have the tooling for or feel like doing myself.Wally Hugh's friendly Ed Debevic's style sense of humor and his honest, knowledgeable and hardworking crew have been in business here a long time. Norm is an automotive repair genius that can out troubleshoot any dealer's best technician (I've actually seen it!).I've told my wife if we ever moved from the area this business would be the one thing I would miss the most.

When you walk in and see Wally, he will roll his eyes and act like you are asking for his last kidney...then tell you don't worry it should be $1000.00 this time.I would love to tell you he is a jag-off...but he is hands down the last honest mechanic in Chicago. Real Good people...I send all of my friends there...he has undercut the "dealers" but half every time ...

We've been going to Wally for as long as we can remember. They are priced fairly and are trustworthy (unlike many other mechanics we have visited before finding Albany).

I've known the guys at Albany for over 20 years, I wouldn't trust my vehicles to anyone else. Literally the most honest and upfront people to do business with in Chicago. They do great work.
