I used to offer a 5 star review, and have no complaints with the quality of the mechanics here. My concern is that both of my recent visits they have been closed. In both cases I have called to confirm when to arrive and they have confirmed "before 9:30." And then in both cases I have arrived before 9:30 on the day I could arrive only to find out that they are closed that day. Both times it was a day they are normally open, a time when their web presence and Google profile says they are open, but they will not have posted or shared anywhere that they are closed and they did not told tell over the phone that they would have a special closing day soon even though I was calling in close proximity to a day they knew they would not be functioning. If you are going to close your shop at irregular hours or even just for holidays, you should post updated hours. You should communicate that with your customer. If I need a mechanic to do one thing, it's fix my car, and if I need them to do a second thing, it's not waste my time. They've done that to me now twice.

My Jeep needed a sensor replaced in the tire. AB Marathon was amazing!!! Got me in quickly, super professional and very inexpensive. I will definitely be back for any other mechanical needs and Jackson approves.

Have taken both of our vehicles to AB for the past 2 years, and always receive the best service. The entire team is great, nice, and insightful. Paul is always the best at answering questions and making sure you understand what is going on. Would trust them with anything. Good, honest people.

Great guys, helped me to fix my car for free when I m driving from Chicago to New Jersey. I m supposed to give this review in 2022 and I just found the card of AB marathon again while house shifting. They have great customer service and great people

AB Marathon delivers on excellent customer service and has earned this and every other five star review.We were incredibly satisfied with the service they provided and will definitely be returning for any future car repairs. Their expertise, affordability, and friendly approach have earned our trust, making them our new go-to choice for our automotive needs in Chicago. Highly recommended!

Please be careful going to this gas station. I was assaulted with a gun at this location. I am starting to believe that the person that assaulted me with the gun is a worker there, because the workers are not allowing me to view the cameras so that I can make a police report. On the night of the assault the Clerk that was available told me in fact I could get camera footage the next morning if I called management and that he was for sure that the camera works because he sees his manager looking at it. When I contacted the manager the next day, he told me that the cameras do not work, so if you are assaulted with a gun at this Location they will not be able to help you. Not only that if someone assaults one of their clerks, they won t be able to do anything about it because according to them, their cameras do not work.

Honesty about what it takes to fix your car without making stuff up! I ve been coming here for 20 years and I recently was reminded why again. Paul is so professional and explains everything and is so very honest and with high quality and long lasting repairs to an old car. Absolutely recommend!

These folks are the absolute best! We have always gone here for any of our mechanic needs. They are always incredibly accommodating to fitting us in when we have time sensitive car issues and are incredibly thorough in explaining what is happening to your car and why a repair is needed before they start that work. Couldn t be more grateful to Paul and his team!

I just had the BEST experience at AB marathon getting an oil change. I called at 9:30am, they told me to bring it in and they would work me in. I got there 10 min later, they told me they would squeeze me in right then. The workers were all EXTREMELY friendly, called me by my name each time they spoke to me, offered me water while waiting. I usually go to the Subaru dealership but wanted a quicker experience. I will be going here from now on!

First time here after being recommended and it went so smooth! I went in for an oil change and tire work. The did that plus my inspection and informed me on anything I would need further to their inspection. They were quick, detailed, friendly, and made me feel comfortable. Thank you!

Paul and his team at AB Marathon are top-notch, knowledgeable, and helpful people. They earned every 5-star review written, and they deserve another one.I had my catalytic converter stolen, which was stressful since I needed it for my car to get to two different jobs, and he made the process of getting repairs done a breeze.He was on top of getting an estimate and documentation well before the insurance claim adjusters arrived at the shop, and his team worked hard to get my car back on the road in a timely manner while being straightforward and communicative through the process. My Prius runs smoother than it did before and has new equipment that won't be a target for thieves.I can't be more pleased with their excellent service. Thanks, Paul!

All a can say is Paul the manager and his team are amazing. I used to take my car to the Mercedes dealership, however after going here one time changed everything for me. I no longer go to the dealership I exclusively go to AB Marathon. These guys are second to none. I highly recommend this shop. Plus Paul is an awesome very nice, very professional and a straightforward guy.

Great independent repair shop. Trustworthy and affordable. Paul will tell you exactly what is wrong and what is going to cost to fix. No bait and switch no gigantic mark ups. As a woman car owner I find it refreshing that he doesn't talk down to me or talk in circles. Highly recommend

These folks were great! I was in town for only one day and had a 24hr drive home ahead of me....but I had some concerning brake noise. I walked in, explained my situation, and they immediately got my vehicle in for an inspection. They determined that my brakes were fine and everything looked safe for me to drive home. I am so grateful to them for their kindness & super quick service!

*** Updating: This place is still amazing. Dropped in today and they fixed a small but confusing problem for me on the spot, right away, no charge. I would go to them for anything.***Accountability means more than perfection. I had great experiences here getting my car repaired. However recently, after a break job, the brakes were a little bumpy. Three weeks later, I brought the car back ready for resistance or at least an argument. Instead I got great service, immediate attention, and a fix that took only a few hours. I don't expect any service people to be perfect, but I do expect them to be accountable for their work.

Needed to have my tires checked and air added with the cold weather sweeping in. They were super busy, but Ronnie took the time to help me and show me how to do it on my own for the future. Super friendly, knowledgable, and kind. I'd recommend this place in a heart beat.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences here. Paul is super thoughtful and explains everything in a way that makes sense. He helped me get my 12-y-o AC system up and running again on a busy summer weekend. He also goes out of his way to make sure I'm not paying too much for any service. Noor, Roni and the rest of the staff that I've interacted with have been super kind and helpful as well. I feel safe here knowing that my car and I are in good hands! :)

I decided to come here while looking for quotes on getting my front brakes done on my Audi A6. Several shops quoted me ridiculous numbers and on top of that none other than the dealership had the breaks. However the dealership wanted 4x what these guys charged.Fast forward 2 years, I moved to ATL and still drove my car back up to these guys for my 85K service, oil change and tires because they continue to do quality work at a reasonable price.They get cars in and out efficiently and are always will to help. They are different from most other auto shops. And while I had initial concerns using a gas stations service the reviews I read silenced those concerns and the repeated great service & customer support have proven those concerns wrong.If you want to know what is wrong with your car and not just steamrolled to buy random things come to this place. I prefer them over my Audi dealership.

I brought my car to their garage because i needed an oil change and I was aware I was having an engine issue but wasn't clear on what the issue could be. Paul took great care of me. He was completely swamped and still managed to fit me in with next to no notice. He found the problems, he explained to me in great detail what the issues were, how to fix them, and why it was important to have it fixed. Paul called me as needed and kept me informed. They did a lot of work and managed to finish before 6pm. They had all the parts they needed already in the garage, which is unheard of. All their work is covered under a warranty. Now my car runs like new . They are the oldest auto shop in Andersonville and I can see why. Super knowledgeable, efficient, great customer service. Paul you are a gem. Thank you for everything.

Consistently excellent care, attention to detail and focus on customers--Paul will gladly explain everything and triage as needed. I will always bring my vehicles here while I live in Chicago. I have never felt duped (as I have at other mechanics due to my gender presentation). BRING your car here---it is worth it!!!

I had my car towed here after my brake line sprung a leak and all my fluid came out. They did an extremely thorough inspection and very clearly explained to me all the issues with my car and why they should be fixed. They ended up doing all my brake pads and rotors as well as replacing both the rear brake lines in just over a day. I had expected to have to leave my car there for the week so this was great!Great service, honest explanations, fair prices. I don t think I ll go anywhere else.

Honest, Quick, Communicative and Professional.Dropped my vehicle off with Paul the service writer before a road trip for a tire repair and oil change around 10am and was ready to be picked up at 1pm. Good guys doing honest work.The jiffy lube across the street was empty compared to AB Marathon's two bay garage overflowing with business and it shows why.

Having just arrived from Atlanta for Christmas I was a bit weary about having a small shop fix my car. On my way up, my check engine light came and then later a service wrench came on. On a break, It turns out that the wrench meant it was time for oil change but I still don t know about the engine light.Having read the great reviews about Paul and his staff, I was willing to give him a try. Even though it was Christmas Eve and he was closing early, Paul was able to squeeze me in.Reluctantly, as it turned out the engine light was for low oil. Paul also told me that they happen to be running a special on oil changes with tire rotation which was good timing for me so killed two birds with one stone as Paul said.Paul and his staff were truly professional and lived up to their reputation! If I lived in Chicago I would allow him to service my cars!

Paul, as well as every employee who works at this AB Marathon location, is honest, and has always gone above and beyond for me and my vehicles. I do not trust any other mechanic shop in the city of Chicago as much as I trust Paul and his crew. I ve been a customer for 3 years, and I will keep coming back to them for as long as I live in Chicago.Today he saved me from paying out of pocket by telling me my car should still be under warranty for a valve issue that has made my check engine light turn on. I double checked, as I should ve done before bringing him my vehicle, and sure enough my Kia Soul was still under warranty, and I ll be taking it to the dealer next week.

Went in today for an oil change before leaving town for the weekend. Paid a great price for an oil change, fluid top off, and full inspection. No appointment necessary, and car was dropped off and picked up within 45 minutes! Paul was very polite and helpful, and assured that my visit went smoothly. I will be making this my go-to for auto service as long as I m in the area!

By far the BEST customer service I have ever had from a mechanic shop, and I've had good customer service from others in the past. They do an excellent job explaining the problem, outlining what needs to be fixed now and what can wait, and even helping us diagnose potential problems when we have been too far away to come in. They may not always be the cheapest, but the prices are fair, and when they have been higher than "normal" its usually because of the quality of what they are using. Despite living in Wisconsin, we continue to come down for maintenance when possible. Thanks guys!

The best customer service I've ever received at any repair shop.Paul is great at figuring out what's wrong, communicating in an clear and non-patronizing way, and letting you know what's a priority and what can wait.Fair and CLEAR prices, great repairs, and exceptional customer service. Can't recommend Marathon highly enough!

They helped me out in a jam. My starter randomly died out not too from this place. Not only did they give me a fair price, but they let me keep my car there for a few days, free of a storage fee, while I put the money together for the repairs. Wish I could remember the guys names, but they re friendly, understanding, hardworking dudes who knows what customer service is. Thanks again guys! I will be returning... but hopefully not too soon lol.

This is the best car repair shop in the city. Great warranties on their work. I have had many oil changes, a new alternator and purchased tires from here. This place is fair, honest, and excellent at repairing cars. They understand customer service and will make sure you are happy.
