I brought my Nissan Versa in because the transmission was skipping and my check engine light was on. The front office guy Tyrone took my car in and had a diag done in less than an hour and gave me all the options. To stay on the cost effective side, at my request, we went with the least expensive solution (trans fluid flush) and worked our way up the cost chain. I ended up needing a new transmission and they purchased me a new one and had it installed and tested in under a day and half. I gave them extra time to let it burn in and test drive. I picked the car up in 2 days. My muffler was rusted out a noisy, so they help me put in a new one and now it s so quite, you can t even tell I m coming around the corner. I put my car through its paces driving my kids around to their practices and doing a stint on the expressway. No more check engine light, no more skipping, and no more rattling muffler. My car even passed the emission test I had pending. The shop on N. Western Ave. has a great front office lead and mechanic s that know their stuff, take great care of your vehicle, and put pride into their work. Totally recommend this shop and crew for any of your vehicle needs. Thanks for restoring my car. I needed the transmission flushed on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee as a 100k mile preventative maintenance. Tyrone was an absolute pleasure to work with. He got me in same day, used all OEM MOPAR products, AND the bill was LESS than what he initially quoted me for because he went out of his way to find some discounts for me. I'm recommending Tyrone and AAMCO on N Western Ave to everyone from here on!

I am very thankful for the service provided by AAMCO. Traveling from out of town, I was pretty worried about finding a trusted mechanic when my transmission light came on and my driver shift gear was blinking. I called AAMCO and I was able to get an appointment the next morning. This location gives a free transmission inspection and I was reassured during my appointment. I was informed on the codes that were returning from the scan and the cost of labor/parts. The price was was reasonable and the job was completed within the hour. I am very satisfied at the service I received at this AAMCO location and that it came with warranty that will be recognized by any and all AAMCO locations.

Is your car having a transmission issue? Are you looking for honest technicians and great customer service? Well look elsewhere, because you won't find any of that here!I started having a transmission issue three weeks ago. So I made an appointment and brought my car in. I was looking forward to finding out what the problem was. I secretly watched as a technician pulled my car into a parking spot from the service lane. It sat for nearly an hour, but he did manage to do the difficult task of checking my transmission dipstick.After my dipstick was checked I was told the issue couldn't be diagnosed by the advisor and to think about buying another transmission. If I knew an hour of my time would be wasted I would've gone elsewhere. The advisor just repeats the lies of the technician.Awful advisors and awful technicians. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! I hope this place shuts down and gets turned into a fast food restaurant. So Far So Good! I took my 2014 Nissan Altima in for transmission work. Tyrone was awesome and detailed! I decided to choose this place because they seemed to know how to work on Transmissions. I love my car and put my trust in AAMCO. I place the deposit for them to start and I really look forward to a great repair by their team of mechanics!! Let s GO AAMCO!!UPDATE: Picked my car up and wanted to wait until I drove at least 200 miles before giving everyone an update! I ve driven my car WAY OVER 200 miles & so FAR ALL IS GOOD! The staff here is extremely thorough, professional, and efficient and most of all honest. I was told I had transmission trouble. They diagnosed it and did not take advantage of me and anyway. I was in and out in less than an hour. And by the way, I did not have transmission issues.

I spent 3,000 dollars on a used transmission, sway bar & rocker arms replaced. I picked up my car, i checked the oil and quickly found 2 upper transmission bolts completely lose & about too fall out.I also found sevral transmission vacuum lines completely off.My speedometer in my car went out the day i picked up my car. The check engine light came on and its the speed sensor essentially.My car is a 2006 Nissan Sentra, yes its old and by no means nice. I had a stroke 6 years ago, i had to learn to walk & talk again.. i was in the hospital for over a month. I lost everything, my home & my savings were depleted due to medical costs. I was homeless for months and actually lived in this car for sevral months ,still with staples in my head & walking with a cane. I am trying my hardest to simply take care of my self & work everyday.I am sorry this car isn't new,I am very poor & just am happy i am alive.I called the shop at 4:15 and Amon expressed the technicians were wrapping up for the day. This was an emergency, the shop closes at 6pm.The tech was Fran C more than likely "Frank" "Francisco" or "Freddy" who did this extremely horrible "work" on the only thing i own.I dont know what i did to deserve this? I was extremely polite & patient as my due date kept changing.I am extremely scared now to bring my car here for the other issue with my speedometer that oddly occurred the day i picked up my car. My car "services & work" are under warranty, however...The severe anxiety & mental trauma is something i can't Express politely. My health has been greatly effected , i had migraines & high blood pressure issues over this whole ordeal with Aamco. I will never go to this shop again,i just won't. Its clear my patronage is not wanted or welcomed.I do not recommend this place , save yourself the troubles this place causes.If you value your car and wish to spend your money at a shop that will care & truly honestly help you...don't go here.

I took my Nissan Altima here due to issues with my CVT transmission. I wanted to save a little bit from using the dealer and trusted this brand as it has been around a while. I took my car in without reading the reviews and was a bit skeptical. Oyin and Travis did an amazing job communicating with me and working with my warranty company. I now have a new transmission with a warranty and my car rides amazing thanks AAMCO!

Needed immediate assistance on an issue with my cooling system and luckily found this Aamco location. The team made me feel like I was a top priority and the turn around time was super fast. Tyrone was excellent on explaining things to me and keeping me updated on progress - highly recommended and will be using their services with future automotive challenges

I have a 1999 Lexus LS400 that had the check engine light on, along with my car being stuck in Neutral and whatever other gear I was on. I figured out it was most likely the Neutral Safety Switch. I am not from the city and called around closer to where I was staying and I was told either they wouldn t work on it or, they wanted to charge me an outrageous amount. When I called Aamco, Tyrone answered the phone. I asked him for a very rough estimate on the fix and he gave me one right away. I took my vehicle there yesterday at 2pm. Tyrone treated me with nothing but respect and made sure that I knew exactly what the mechanic would be doing. Right before they closed Tyrone gave me a call to let me know that they had replaced the switch, test drove it, and everything was good. However, he wanted to drive it a bit more in the morning just to make sure. I received a text at 8am that my car was ready for pickup. When I got there to pick up, the mechanic Mike started my car for me and Tyrone let me drive it out of the bay so I was warm. If this shop was closer to where I live, I would come here every time. First time here, would highly recommend! My usual mechanic said i need to have a transmission specialist look into why a warning light was on. Communication was clear and professional, quick turnaround and they were straightforward about what needed to be done and what didn't. Turns out it was just an error but nothing wrong with the transmission. So they just recommended topping off the fluid. Diagnostic was free, just paid to have them top of the fluid. Fran worked on my vehicle and was very informative when he hanged it back over. Tyrone is the new manager here and he was also a pleasure to work with.My sense is that a lot of the negative reviews here are outdated and not based on the current team running the shop.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Transmission repair

Everything is expensive in Chicago, so don't expect rock bottom prices, but you can definitely expect exceptional service. If the employees and management I dealt with weren't as exceptional as they were, it would have been a huge problem, but their quality of customer service was so good, they were able to satisfy me and they were able to do it quickly and because of that they have earned my business for good.

I have a 2018 Nissan (with CVT transmission) purchased a couple years back thru Carvana, including an extended warranty thru their partner. This AAMCO is one of their in-network mechanics and closest to me. This winter, when I noticed what I suspected were transmission issues, I got spooked and stopped driving. I did my research and prepared for the worst. However, not only did Tyrone explain the claims process & patiently answer all my questions, not only did he interface directly with the warranty provider, but he also advocated for me when they twice sent unacceptable replacements and kept me up to date along the way. In the end it cost me some time but nothing else, and I feel thoroughly taken care of. I will definitely return and can t recommend Tyrone s team more highly!

Before I decided to tow my car to this garage I call in ahead and check with the manager Steve about the back log of cars. He mentioned 1 week will be on hold for total diagnosis and Following week he would give me the diagnose report and its estimate cost of repair and date of returning car. So the following week I called to check what s going on with the car. And came to know Manager change to person named Trevor now. Once again since the manager was new my car was on 1 week hold for diagnostic again because no mechanic did the inspection yet. After waited 2 week again I call several times on the phone but no response and went myself to check the status of the car. The Manager Trevor went on for 2 week leave now and there was no supervisor or assistant manager to talk about my car nor anyone to receive the phone calls . A mechanic from inside told me that I would need a new engine. And he couldn t give me further advice what to do next. Since there was no one at front desk, or to receive your phone calls. Or emails. 4th week I called in again to check with the manager and came to know The manager has been changed again person named Jimmy. That s a big Red flag within 1 month 3 managers changed. I realize I would never get my car repaired this way. I had to towed to a different garage. After 1 month of car sitting in the garage with no absolute repair I got billed $630 ( labor charge + tow). I wasted all my Time and money for renting cars for the entire month. Midwest garage got my car fixed within 4 hours time after I towed in from AAMCO with just bill of $300. This AAMCO gave me horrible nightmares and worst customer service ever. It was my 1st and it s last at AAMCO. The AMMCO runs a scam policy looting people for no work done. This AAMCO garage should shut down.Service: Engine repair

I had my car serviced a few weeks ago at this location. The customer service was exceptional and the details of the work being completed was explained to me. Unfortunately, I did not proceed with the services of this Aamco location due to another cost-effective option but the customer service of the Front Desk was enough to give them Five Stars.The Rep's name was Sam and she was amazing. Transparent, Empathetic, and genuinely kind. Everything you need in a situation when your vehicle is failing on you. She made it clear that they will test my transmission before she can give me a quote so she give me the best options. As I mentioned before, I did not go forward with their services due to the severity of my vehicle but Thank you so much for putting the effort to save me money and make the process easy.

I took my car to a few different places, being told I can only replace my CVT transmission. Brought it here and we discovered the problem wasn t even the transmission, but the battery corroding the wires. While I have not had work done on my car yet, I have to say that I am happy and grateful for the amazing customer service I received. I came in because I thought there was something really wrong with my car. It was Mid January and it was very cold outside. Joe (manager) had his team do a full evaluation on my car without a hesitation. I asked him if they charge and he said no which most places want to charge to give you a quote. I am excited to come back and get my car worked on. I know they will do a great job. Standby for another review when they finish my car. I will totally come back. No doubt.

Single best repair experience EVER! Olin & Keylon are so friendly, kind and professional. I was visiting Chicago with my son and our car wouldn t stay running the day we were leaving. I called the shop to see if they had a tech available to help us. Keylon took our information over the phone and got our car in for diagnostics immediately when we arrived. Fran, their tech, was very thorough in checking our vehicle out and explaining what the issue was. They has us back on the road in an hour. Professional and accommodating since I had to reschedule and forgot my appt time .They explained what they will do and why they couldn t do the job because too risky. I wasn't having success at another company and I called AAMCO to see if they would be able to assist. They had my car towed to their facility and Steven was able to diagnose the problem. He thoroughly explained the issue (in terms that I could understand, as I don't know much about cars) and provided me with 2 options. One was more expensive, but could be done quickly, but had a shorter warranty. The second option was less expensive, but provided for a much longer warranty period. I truly appreciated his honesty and providing me with different options for the repair. Their customer service is excellent and they kept me updated on the progress of the repair. Steven, and the team at AAMCO are now my trusted advisers when it comes to any car repair issues I may have in the future. I highly recommend them!! Thank you very much!!!
