Charged way less than everyone else I called and were on time and friendly! Even helped me out beyond unlocking the door after I wasn't sure how to get into my trunk without a release. Would highly recommend to anyone in need!!!

Matt was sent by Smith through my All State roadside claim. I am a college student and was not with my car when it was picked up or dropped off. He called to confirm the plate and called when he dropped it off. The car was put exactly where I had requested. The company and Matt made my day easier. Had a fantastic experience with this company. Geico said it would take an hour for them to tow my car but Tom called 15 minutes later to let me know he was on his way. We were somewhere else picking up food and he was super kind and patient about being a little late. He did a GREAT job. Polite, friendly, and professional the whole time. If I could give him 10 stars I would in a heartbeat. Thanks so much Tom, you're the coolest!Service: Car towing

Locked my keys in my car. Art came within 20 minutes of me calling. He was very quick and also very friendly!! Other companies closed at 5 and would ve charged an extra $30 to come after hours. Smith s doesn t charge you extra until after 7pm. Will definitely use them in the future but let s hope I don t lock my keys in my car again. Thanks Art!!

Had a blowout that required a tow because of body damage, and my insurance company called them for the tow. They seemed to take a long time to get out to me but fine, I can live with that. After his truck died a few times, he managed to get my car mounted. He drove quite slowly...which I guess might be good, but he was talking about 24 hour shifts on a regular basis, which sounds extremely unsafe, add that to being on his phone most of the time while driving... No wonder he drives so slowly!I might be able to forgive all that if my car hadn't FALLEN OFF THE TRAILER. He kept saying "I don't know why that happened!" But it was pretty obvious that the side he neglected to strap down was the side that fell off. Unsurprisingly it falling off caused some more damage, which he tried to argue was there before. Lucky for him the car was about ready to be scrapped, and at this point it had been about 3 hours since I had gotten stuck on the side of the road, so I didn't care as much as I should have.Long story short, if you can avoid using them, please do.

Got into an accident and used our roadside insurance! Not only did they DAMAGE MY CAR MORE but we got asked NOT to report it. The car FELL OFF THE TOW TRUCK! The car was drivable before Smith s came and picked it up and now it s underivable! I would rather be stranded on the side of the road then deal with this company. The guys said I don t know what happened, this had never happens before ! Obviously a LIE considering the reviews !

I highly recommend this towing company and if you can request Andrea she was very polite and did a wonderful job towing my car, they are the cheapest towing I've found in town and are very kind and professional. They called me when they were about 5 min away and I only had to wait about 20-30 minutes. I would call them again anytime. Thank you Smith's towing!

I got stuck in a ditch during some bad snow. As an out-of-stater, I just googled a tow company to help me out. I'm so glad I called 217/Smith's. I was told the wrecker wouldn't be able to get to me for about an hour. He actually got there within about 40 minutes. He (I have completely forgotten his name) called me to let me know when he was close and confirmed my location. He walked me through the process of how we were going to go about getting me pulled out. It was quick and easy, even though I had buried my tires in about eight inches of snow. I was charged an incredibly reasonable fee, and the employee that helped me (I really wish I could remember his name) was very professional and clearly knew what he was doing.While it is unlikely I will ever find myself in this same situation on that same stretch of highway in Illinois, if I ever do I will absolutely be calling 217/Smith's again.

Let me save you your time and money by telling you to take your business somewhere else. I needed a simple alternator replacement. This job typically takes 2.5 hours and costs anywhere between $200-350 (I've had the job done on my car before 3 times). It was SIX days before this horrible excuse of a repair shop got my car working for me. When I arrived to pick it up, the mechanic explained that it took 10 hours of labor. My final price ended up being over $650. Ridiculous. When I asked for his boss' phone number, he said his boss doesn't have a cell phone. How does one run a business without a fricken phone these days? Save yourself time and money and go to NAPA Auto Parts just a few minutes away from there.

Do yourself a favor and don't use Smiths towing!I used my insurance roadside assistance for my vehicle that had died on the highway about 8 miles out of town. This was at 3:15 pm. The car was left there. Roadside contacted Smiths and the dispatched within 5 minutes. They told my roadside service and myself that the car was was not on the highway. They also said that they left town and went past the town/exit before where the vehicle was and continued to the next exit. They said the vehicle was not on the side of the road. I found out about 5 that the vehicle had not been dropped at my house. I drove out to where the vehicle was and l, yes, believe it not not it was still there. I decided to bypass my roadside assistance and called feldkamps and they were on the scene in under 20 minutes.There are two possibilities that could have happened. One, the guy saw the vehicle and for some reason decided not to pick it up. Or, two, they either didn't send a truck out or it only went to the exit before where the vehicle was located.This means only one thing. Smiths towing LIED about what they did or did not do. I would strongly recommend avoiding this less than stellar towing company. Feldkamps on the other hand was prompt, friendly and gave me no problems.

This place is absolutely ridiculous. We had to pay outrageous prices for our parts. The mechanic was extremely rude. He charged us for 3 hours of work even though it only took him an hour and a half. That included him messing around, taking smoke breaks and waiting for a friend. After finally paying, we asked for a receipt and he said "we don't give out receipts". I would stay away from this place. It's terrible service and they rip you off big time.

Jennifer was the most pleasant person to deal with in a situation like this. I was expecting a $200 tow bill in all actuality it cost me $65 to get my vehicle from Champaign to the outskirts of Urbana. I highly recommend this place and if you get a chance to speak with Jennifer you will not be disappointed.

Towing crooks of Champaign County. Call this place if you want to be charged ridiculous rates for...Anything! Call Smiths Towing if you want them to damage your vehicle further then what it already is. My Fiance got into a front end collision with our car, Had i known at the time of the accident that smith's was going to be the tow company that was called... No way in hell would this place be the company to tow our car. They tow our car.. Charge $200 to tow, $50 a day for storage, $50 for debris pick up. Great.. I called later in the day for a tow and it was $70. Thats quite a price difference. They refused to tow our car to a body shop, or to my house. Theres the storage fee they got out of us... Drove past the intersection where the accident occurred, and there is debris in the road, i picked up the grill from my car right off the road.... Yet they charged $50 to clean that up! Awesome! After the accident had occured, the tow truck driver refused to even give my fiance a ride home! "Well.. i might be able to take you to the gas station". I know all too much about this place. Dont spend your money here.. They parked another car next to mine in the "police impound lot". In the process they ran into my drivers side mirror and damaged it, and then... Denied it! Awesome. So everyone, give a round of applause for this AWESOME tow company. If you need a tow, road side assistance, any assistance at all.. Save your self the headache, save your self the frustration, the curse words, the arguing, Call another local company. Dont call Smith's.

After waiting over 4 hours and speaking to the company multiple times on the phone (to get "revised" estimates of arrival), they then claimed to have no record of a service request for me at all.This is outright abusive.

Best company around Champaign to get your car towed by people were nice explained everything to me was very helpful answered all my questions and was the cheapest around excellent service would recommend this company to anyone

Specifically ordered a flatbed to tow my daughters car to avoid damage. Driver improperly unloaded car and scraped front on bed, damaging bottom front.
