Long story short this shop agreed to do work on my door lock plus give me pricing on a host of other work on a car that had been sitting for some time. I had a couple of conversations regarding the lock with the shop manager and at least one with the mechanic that was going to be doing the work. I was asked for the interior door panels to be brought, which I did. I was told their estimate was the work could be done in about an hour, assuming no new problems were found. That seemed fair and these people had worked on other cars for me with no issues so I trusted them to be honest. The next day I got a call and was told they would not do the work. I asked if the caller was aware I'd been told the work could be done and he responded well he was Karl, the owner and HE was telling me it wasn't going to be done. The other things I'd asked about yes but.... that's OK, I'll just come pick it up. Walked in the shop maybe half an hour later and he was rude and aggressive from the jump. Dropped my card on the counter to pay for the inspection they HAD done and was told not to throw things at him. The card moved maybe three inches to just past the big plastic covid screen still up that effectively prevents me throwing anything at him even if I'd intended to. It just went downhill from there. Finally got my bill paid, jump started the car and left. Oddly I'd just read an older review that stated something similar had happened to that person and had dismissed it based on my experiences to this point. Again this wasn't my first visit, just my first time ever speaking with or meeting Karl and my first (and damned sure last) issue with the company. Shop manager was great. Mechanic Terry was great, I have no idea what I did to offend Karl before I'd even met him, but he had an attitude from the point I answered his call to be told they wouldn't do as they'd clearly agreed. Avoid him you'll likely be fine. Use your best judgement.I've read the response. That is simply not what happened, but it's irrelevant. Anyone can look and see I don't easily give a poor review. I also believe I made it clear that none of the staff gave me any issue at all, only Karl who treated me with contempt from the moment I answered the phone until I was able to leave, which he intentionally took his time with so he could comntinue to insult me. I stepped away from him even as he was behind the counter due to his aggressive and berating attitude. I called the police because he followed me out the door and stood glaring at my girlfriend and I as I jump started a car he was aware had a bad battery and would need that time spent to start in order to leave. I imagine that's on the security cam. I not only never pushed the issue I specifically stated I knew it was out of the norm for your shop and asked if there was interest in doing that work or if you could recommend a shop that would. Your shop had turned away work for me before as it was outside your typical work and we have never had an issue. I expected a no and was appreciative that you would try. Frankly if I'd just been told that there was no interest right off OR if I'd been told politely by Karl that there was a mistake made and the door should never have been accepted you'd be putting a couple of thousand dollars worth of work into that car right now. I was treated rudely so yes, I immediately said I'll just come get it. I did not argue the $130 charge for the inspection done because I had authorized it. This should have been a three minute max credit card transaction, Karl made it difficult. That's just the plain truth. I have given an honest review, people can do as they wish. Hopefully Karl will take this to heart and behave more professionally in the future. Or at least make sure the entire staff is on board with policy. If not, or if the shop wishes to continue to present this as if I was the one being the problem, so be it.

When the window glass fell and wouldn't go back up, I brought my car here to get it fixed. They kept my car over the weekend, which was nice since the window was trapped open, then fixed it. I drove it home then noticed the plastic inside shell of my door is not on properly. It is higher than it should be making it impossible for my passengers to pull up the lock manually.I emailed and they told me to come back to get it fixed. I never did since it's out of the way, I would need to leave my car an unknown amount of time, and get an Uber to and from. So my door now has a different problem.

I been pondering if I should say something about this shop. And after seeing they Got 4.6 ratings I believe the truth must be told. Ok here it is, The lady at the reception desk was very nice I must admit. But here is how they Truly treated me as a young Black American. I Dropped my vehicle off on 12/18/23. The lady Promised me they would get my vehicle in for a diagnostic check. I had a original appointment for 12/21/2023 however she told me if I brought it in earlier they would work it in. Well that didn't happen but hey that was ok. On the original date of appointment 12/21/2023 I was told my vehicle would be the first vehicle into the garage. This was told to me at 8:05am. I went on about my day Trusting God that my vehicle was in great hands. At approximately 2:35pm I went to get an update because it was strange I didn't receive a call after 5 hours. Well good readers here is the saddest thing I experienced on top of going through my suffering. When I walked in the lady walked out and the guy who now I know was the owner asked if he could help me. I said hey yes Sir in a happy mood believing he had good news for me, I'm the owner of the White Ford. The man looked at me and said owe yea I refuse to put one of my guys in your vehicle because you need a interior cleaning, God honest truth I must admit I was broken hearted. My vehicle interior was not in bad shape at all and I had made sure any mechanic had a clean space to test drive. He through my keys on the desk after I took a deep breath and sighed in disbelief and said here you go man. You can just take your car. I honestly walked out the door in tears and by the time I got to my vehicle I turned back around and went back in and told him I can't believe you all didn't call me 4 hours ago to tell me you all wouldn't service me for whatever reason. He immediately threatened to call the police on me and shouted Some very mean slurs and demanded I leave his property. So I left. Now I hated the interaction because I'm trying to get closer to Jesus and Father God so I called the gentleman back and apologized for my choice of words after being treated unfairly in the first place,and the guy was so full of pride he couldn't even apologize for his behavior and unprofessionalism his exact words After I apologized was thank you For the apology and your review doesn't reflect your apology. Side note, I had wrote a review but erased it so I can practice peace but after seeing all these other non black citizens writing how good their service was I said no way will I be silent. So here is my new Review for 2024 about how they treated me and Him , his wife and the mechanic who did drive my vehicle knows everything I'm writing is the truth so help Me Father God. They need to be humbled that's my diagnosis for them. The whole day I was praising God believing my vehicle was being cared for but in reality they didn't even want to be bothered with me so they let my car sit for 3 days before finally giving me the big blow to the gut on 12/21/23 at 2:35pm . I can accept no but how they went about it was so inhumane I almost puked because the pain in disrespect was terrible .

No stars at all for this company, Do not bring your vehicle to this shop. My good friend brought her car in here . The technician said they will do free evaluation.. He later said she needs a new engine over $5000.00 , . She could not afford to do that..so when we came to pick up the car the owner said she owes $ 180. 00 for storage fees...for keeping her car there...He refused to give us his name ..This is a one those examples of a bad mechanic giving all mechanics a bad name ..trying to take advantage of someone who knows nothing about cars....This guy kicked me and my other friend off of his property for asking him questions...A real dirtbag...Reply to the dirtbags response:I did not say I was going to give you a bad review if you did not waive the fees. I always give a very honest review, good or bad. This was my church group you are talking about. And your engine Replacement diagnosis turned out to be a MAF sensor.. 35 bucks. You, sir, have a wonderful day.

Very helpful recommendation on where to go next. Experts as well as nice people w nicer protocols. I would go there definitely after this point. They diagnosed my truck and gave me the code. I have to go to dealership next.

Great repair service! Local small business, fair price, great at communicating what they were doing and why, explained any questions I had, conveniently next to bus lines.They gave their diagnostic and explained beforehand what they were doing and how it priced out and did no work before confirming with me what I wanted to do after the diagnosis report.Their pricing was fair and they gave a full breakdown report of what they charged and why, which matched what they quoted me from the diagnosis down to the cent.They took care of my exhaust system issue the same day as the diagnosis and I was able to drop it off at 9 and pick it up by 3. They even looked into a recent noise my car was making and fixed it, it sounds so much better now!And the repair shop is right next to the Green/Green-Hopper lines so I didn't have to worry about an Uber or ride-share.Services: Exhaust, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Engine check light was on, and they figure out the problem. The problem was not shown in the error codes. They figured and fixed it.

We were passing through from Wisconsin to Kentucky for a funeral when our wheelbearing decided to let loose. We had the tow truck take us to Kaams and I'm so glad we chose them. We got there about 330pm, they moved us to top priority, had the parts by 415pm and the car was fixed by 5pm when they closed. These are some great down to earth funny people and they kept our spirits up the whole time. They're hard workers, they work fast and they do it right! Thank you so much Kaams!!

I recently had my 2000 Lexus worked on by KAAMS. Here is my experience:My car was running rough; the idle was running low. Additionally, I needed an alignment. I worked closely with Karl and Melissa the whole time. They diagnosed the car, found the issues, and did not do any repairs until I approved. They used quality parts and did a great job repairing everything that needed fixed. If you are having automobile issues, just call KAAMS.

Kaam s always takes care of my auto needs! Have used them for years. I pulled up today after being told I couldn t replace my battery myself, due to programming. I was from out of town and in need of emergency engine repair. I did not have an appointment and they were able to work me in the same day and back out on the road so I could go home! The staff were nice, transparent with what work needed to be done and the cost. The office was clean and I couldn t be more grateful, I would definitely recommend!

KAAMS has been the most reliable and helpful shop we have ever taken a vehicle to. We have a Nissan Juke that has been giving us all kinds of problems and they are great at letting you know just what needs to be fixed and getting you back on the road. I was halfway through a five hour drive and the shield on the bottom of my car started falling off, then the metal shield under that. I found Kaams on google and they were able to get me in and out that day. It took about 3 hours total because they were (understandably) working on other vehicles. Five stars for their auto service and five stars for their customer service.

As we all know perfection is impossible, but when it comes to car problems and finding mechanics what is possibly the most important aspect is finding someone who is honest! I just brought my not-so-new new car in to KAAMS to have an overflowing handful of issues fixed. They got my car in on time, and were extremely communicative making sure to call before fixing each issue and let me know the prices. The car was finished quickly and everything came back running well. After a couple days I started experiencing some issues and called to let them know and they scheduled me right in (then this is where they sealed the continued customer deal...) They promptly went through the repairs and quickly found the issue, they called to let me know it was a small issue with something not being sealed 100% correct, and they fixed it. They fully took accountability for the mistake and didn't charge me a dime. I left with a car that definitely runs better than ever, and more importantly with the confidence that my car was fixed by honest people who do good work and who don't mind admitting they're mistake, even if they could have gotten some extra money out of me. That's as close to perfect as you can get if you ask me... Thank you for your service! This mechanic-hopper has finally found her spot. KAAMS is the absolute BEST mechanic I've ever been to. Everyone is always incredibly polite, knowledgeable and helpful. My car began having trouble over a year ago due to pre-existing engine issues, and KAAMS has been there for me every step of the way. From diagnostics, to repairs, to maintenance. Their prices are honest, and they make you feel comfortable that your car is in good hands. I had to go to my dealership for a specific maintenance issue and KAAMS went above and beyond, they had written detailed notes on my prior repairs so I could provide them to the mechanic team at the dealership. As a woman, it's taken me years and years to find a mechanic shop I felt was honest, respectful, and kind and KAAMS is it! Dropped of my vehicle to be looked at for the air conditioning, I get a call saying my engine is making a loud noise. I told them no I've never had any noises on this vehicle? Kams told me to come pick it up they wouldn't look at it because I wouldn't let them look at my motor ? Ummm no there's nothing wrong with the motor!!. Perfect running vehicle. Just needed the air done .I picked it up. We'll now my car is not running . I feel this place is a scam to make people pay for extra services. I said no and now my vehicle is broke down perfectly it was fine before this .

My work truck broke down while I was driving through Illinois and I had it towed to this business. They diagnosed that my transfer case had finally gone out and they replaced it. I was traveling through the area and had my car towed to KAAMS after breaking down on the hwy. After a diagnostic, they wanted to charge me $928 for 4 new plugs and a coil pack + labor. Parts cost under $150 at O'Reillys and the labor took 10 minutes. The mechanics were going to rip me off most likely because I was from out of town and a woman who didn't know about cars. I had them work on my 1989 Ford F-150 in 03/22, and they were very quick in diagnosing issues and providing a quote. They had quick turn around and were great at communicating. They were very clear in the diagnosis of the issue and set proper expectations of next steps and how long repair would take. I get excellent service every time I bring my car here! Melissa remembers me every time I call and greets me whenever I walk in the door. I have very little car knowledge and whatever work I need done is described in terms that helps me easily understand the necessary repairs. I would highly recommend bringing your car here!
