I was told that my car had a mechanical issue by another repair shop. I then took my car to Cary-Grove Automotive and Lance gave me an honest review of what work I needed to have completed. Saved me a great deal of money. I really appreciated the honest review of my vehicle!

I've been delighted with Cary-Grove Automotive for 15 years. Lance is the owner/operator and he is truly the most honest, caring and solution oriented person I've ever dealt with in a business category that is not without its challenges. He always tries to do what is best for you within your budget and they always deliver excellent results.

I was having emissions problems and procrastinated to the end of the month where I needed to get a new sticker with in a week.They got me in the next day and it fixed quick. Good communication in what was wrong, why it was wrong and the price to fix it.

I scheduled an appointment for Saturday and i think i was the only customer for the time slot. No one else was in the lobby. It was $473 for brakes pads, nothing rotor related was done, and i got a brake fluid service. Total time of service was about 2.5 hours which seemed a little long. I feel like the time and cost was padded but i cant say for sure on a 2016 honda pilot. I think he did a good job but I would not recommend.Edit - Changing this from a 3 star to a 1 star after owner's response. I didn't want to say it, but it felt like I was very unwelcome since the beginning. You were like hey there's a store over there you can go to after you took the keys in weather that said it feels like 0 degrees with the wind. Then you came back to give me an estimate and again said hey there's a coffee store over there again like you really did not want me in the lobby. I thought because I had an appointment you would prioritize work on my car and not be affected by the other 2 cars there. Also your estimate didn't add up as you were explaining it. Yes, you said 470 but you also said 80 and 80 for the pads (It's 60 and 60 on the receipt) and 90 for the brake fluid and then it was unclear which prices were for the parts and which included price and labor. The last piece of concern was that you placed the key on the counter toward me to take which I did. Then you told me the keys were in the car which makes me question if you forgot anything when working on the car.You probably did a good job on the car, but you made it seem like I was some criminal or someone beneath you when I was as kind as I could be initially, then you made it worse and worseService: Brakes

I can t say enough good things about this place. We have taken 2 different cars here now, and both times we were so impressed with how friendly, honest, and well priced they were. They always make an effort to get you in when you need them. They try to save you money where they can, and are honest when something can wait and when it can t. I would not hesitate to send friends and family their way. So happy to have found a trustworthy mechanic. I was recommended to stop by this shop but as soon as I walked in and and explained what was going on with my car, I was laughed at and called one of those b/c I had a video of the issue going with my car. I tried to give them another chance and called for a quote, I got a lot of attitude, way to make me feel welcomed definitely will not recommend.

Edit: Place, People & Price were great! just my little problem I had.Took my car for an oil change and got a ticking noise the following time I wanted to use my car. Called them up to tell them the problem and I was told to bring it in or get it towed in (didn t do either not because I didn t trust them but for other reasons).Service: Oil change

Great guys and reasonable prices. They call before doing the work to let you know an approximate amount and discuss options. I would highly recommend.Beyond belief love these guys. I have a Kia and took it to the dealership, was told $1104.00 to fix my car... the actual cost at Cary-Grove... 130.00 all my car needed was a new hose. Kia told me I needed a new radiator and all of these other parts, which I didn't.

I used these guys a few years ago on what I thought was going to be a major repair $$$$$$ but it turned out to be very affordable for what they did.On a new repair, I turned my car over to them at 7:30am when they open. They already had cars in the garage, but only 1.5 hours later, Lance called with the diagnosis and gave me a cost estimate that was exactly what I was expecting. He said the car will be done within the day, and I am sure the time estimate will be 100% correct. I trust these guys and have recommended them to others...will continue to do so.

Fantastic service and so very helpful with my Can Am Spyder. My parking brake was stuck and they helped me out without an appointment because I was stranded and couldn't drive it any further. These guys are straight up and fair. I (super embarrassing) failed to completely clean the old gasket from the sealing surface on the cylinder head when I replaced the thermostat. It got really dark and really cold really quick. There's no way I was going to reseal that thing in 17� temperatures. They took care of it right away and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. I really appreciate it! You can trust these guys. You can't really say that about too many repair shops.

I've been to this mechanic twice wih the same car over about 1 year. The first time, they accomodated me by installing new rear brakes and rotors I previously bought for a very agreeable price and no new squeaks afterward! The second time they did a free check on the life of my front brakes; they were honest that I had 7mm left and nothing was needed yet. Additionally, they noticed and took the liberty to secure a part of my rear brake shield that was loose and making noise, and they patiently explained to me about the acidic kickback from my brakes that stained my hub caps. They also eased my worry and corrected inaccurate information I was told by an uber passenger about the sound/condition of my brakes. Each service was extremely quick - less than 2 hours for the replacement, and about 1 hour for the check. Will be going back for my next servicing as needed! Thank you guys!

Excellent service every time I went here. No longer in the area unfortunately, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't look up the gas prices for making the hour drive back to have more work done here!

Lances mechanical knowledge is unsurpassed, he has the ability to diagnose and fix it right the first time, and his one mechanic Chopper is following in his footsteps. I own a fleet of vehicles and I can't say enough about this shop It's a place that I recommend to all my family and friends.
