Total scam! They kept my truck for a week and never even looked into the issue. I would call every day and I would get lied to by the guy in charge. He would tell me it was a different thing every time but would never do anything about it. He was basically playing the guessing game and trying to take me for as much money as possible. In the end I picked up my truck because nothing was ever done to it and he had the nerve to have an attitude with me about it. I'm putting this out there to let other people know how they operate, to give people an idea of the scams they do, and to hopefully encourage others to question the validity of what they "do" to your vehicle.

I will always go here for my out of warranty repairs because I trust them to not overcharge me & be honest. I've taken my SUV there several times to get nails taken out of my tires, they are prompt & fair. They care about their customers!

2000 Ford expedition 5.4L. Rusted out right exhaust manifold. Quoted at 3 shops. $700-$900. Stopped in to see Roger. He quoted $400 to $500. Got it done for $400. Also my running boards were about to fall off. He customized support brackets for both sides $150 X2 sides. Awesome repair. My exhaust was about to fall off as well . He rewelded the exhaust free of charge. U want exhaust work done at reasonable prices See Roger2006 Cadillac DTS 127kStolen catalytic converter. Dealer wanted $1250 plus labor $1500 plus tax ouch. These Northstar engines need a high capacity high flow California rated emissions catalytic converter. Its not cheap aftermarket convertors will give u po420 and will not pass emissions. I tried waste of my $. Roger ordered and installed the right Magnaflow 6.2L rated converter. Installed and took the car to pass emissions. Out the door under $700Extremely happy came w a 5 year 50k mileWarrantyCar runs like a new car.Roger is the man integrity is in his blood

The experience wasn't good...it's always excellent for all they did and do. I am an original customer from the time it opened. Back when Mike was handing out t-shirts. Was excellent then and DM&B continues to maintain that standard today. Thank you Roger!!

I would not go to this place again. And I hope you heed this advice. I had gone there to fix my flex pipe last year, and he replaced my whole Catalytic converter with a straight pipe. I dont even know if it is legal in the state of IL. Now that the flex pipe has broken again, I am left looking at more expensive options.Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

I got work done from this place a while ago and every day that goes by I think of what the best review I could write for this place and at the same time I wanted to see how the job handled through out a 3 week time period. I had a Catalytic converter stolen from my vehicle, I knew the repair wasn't going to be cheap so I called up a bunch of shops to see how much it would cost, when I got on the phone with Mr. Roger I was met by the utmost respect and I could hear it in his voice, he told me to bring it in and we'll see what we're working with, I was determined to get it fixed that day. So, I got the part from auto zone and took it to the shop it was quite busy, but Mr. Roger came to assist me within 5 min and explained the situation about how the Catalytic converter needs to be modified to fit the car properly, and the explanation was thorough and direct! I totally trusted the shops ability to execute the work in a professional matter, I wanted to observe the difficult job because I had done a temporary fix on it and I was greeted with Ricardo's smile also know as Ricky I asked him some questions and he was happy to answer them for me. the whole repair took around 45 min. So now it came down to the most important part, the price of the repair, I spoke to roger and he explained that since I brought my part to the shop the repair would be 180 and they had a sign that explained what he was talking about. however I would recommend having another one by the door so the costumer is able to see it before they walk in. I was very happy with that price compared to the 250, 600, or even 1000 dollar repair that I was told by other shops. what's really good about this whole experience is that I got to share it with friends and family and I'm 100% going to be taking all my cars there.Service: Exhaust

Brakes and oil change. Katie was super friendly and helpful. They applied discounts, offered to give me a ride and pick me up if needed, and the whole thing was done in under 3 hours! My auto dealership told me I needed a full front rotor and caliper replacement job, with a very high price quote. Because I had recently had my brake pads and rotors replaced, I had Roger at Discount Muffler & Brake give me a second opinion. He inspected everything & brought me into the shop to show me that I currently didn't need a caliper replacement, and assured me I could get several thousand miles more use out of the rotors & brake pads. He saved me hundreds of dollars and put my mind at ease. I appreciate his honesty and will definitely bring my car back to him when it's actually time for the job to be done.Service: Brakes

Went there to have my mufflers removed and replaced with straight pipes. A few months pass and I notice I had an exhaust leak so I took it back. They looked at it and said it was their fault they didn t re weld the hangers to the straight pipes so it rattled loose. Then he said I got a discount originally so to fix the exhaust he wanted me to split the cost to repair it. Not even replace it. I told him I m not paying and dime and I m not letting them work on my car again.Service: Exhaust

After getting a few different quotes for a loud exhaust, as well as an oil pan replacement (aluminum oil pan drain plugs were stripped out), I went to discount muffler and got a price from them. They pinpointed the exhaust problems, gave me a quick, and very fair price for the jobs, and communicated with me very well when an issue came up during the repair. I felt their customer service was very good, and only wish that they were located closer to my home. I would definitely use them for all my automotive needs. Now my Honda odyssey runs like new again, even with over 211,000 miles.Services: Exhaust, Oil change

I had a wonderful experience at Discount Muffler and Service! I called last minute and they got me in right away. Excellent customer service. I got the recommendation from a friend, and it s super close to my house. :) I was in and out of there in less than an hour for an oil change and a check up. Thank you for your service! :)

I needed brakes and rotors front back, the dealer wanted almost 1,500.00. I went to Brian and he charged me way less and said I didn t have any suspension issues that he could see. I dropped off my car walked home and he called me 2 hours later that it was all done. I will be back, he saved me money and lots of hours sitting at the dealers waiting area.Service: Brakes

The only place I trust for exhaust repair for my mature cars. I took my 2005 Toyota Camry here for a resonator and muffler replacement. Brian's work is amazing! He took his time diagnosing the issue and was able to obtain parts the same day for the replacement. If you need a new muffler or resonator stop in, you will not be disappointed.Service: Exhaust

Feel like I'm getting ripped off everytime I leave. They work fast but that's about all I can say good about this place. I got home and noticed a big yellow scratch on my bumper that was not there when I dropped it off, but never heard anything about it from them. I was told they couldn't repair my Catalina converter, so I paid for a new part. All they did was cheaply fix my old one and put on a metal piece to hold it up and make it look new to the untrained eye. They charge you for new parts but give you a cheap fix . I would not trust the work they do so always double check what they fix if you do take the risk and go here. I definitely will not be going there anymore.

I went in for them to correct the alignment on my exhaust tips that someone els did. They fixed it in 5-10 mins and then said it wasn't even worth charging me. There are honest mechanics and you can find them here. It looks great now.

Keep having issues with my breaks and routers that they replaced. I have never had so many issues in my life with brakes. So tired of dealing with this that I finally decided to pay more somewhere else to get everything re done. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMENDService: BrakesService: Brakes

Had a concern with the brakes. They did a brake check for free and said I still have life on the brake pads. Helped entertain my kids and did not charge for the check. They could not have been any nicer and quick. Highly recommend.

This place is a really honest spot. I had a heat shield that was broken and it was making rattling sound. They just screwed it back on and didn't try to oversell me. He didn't even charge me. If it was any other spot, they would have milked it and not knowing better I would have paid. The guys there are top notch.

Avoid at all cost,roger is a shady mechanic.place was good until brian left.please bring back brian.
