I took my car in for a battery issue. They did some testing for a reasonable price. They were very honest with me about the issue I was having with my battery. They did the least amount of work possible to fix my battery issue. They helped saved me a good amount of money. I'm very thankful for the work they did. It can be challenging to find an auto shop that does their work with integrity and honesty. I'm very satisfied with their service, and I would recommend them to anyone who is having car issues.

While Jeremy and Kayla were nice and helpful, im not satisfied with the way my car was handled. I was charged over 700 for 2 parts that I don't even know what they do. I originally went in there for a sound issue. I got my car back and the sound was even louder. Yes, Jeremy explained that because the part that got fixed could be making more sounds but the invoice said the noise was found and resolved. That was simply not the case. After inspecting my car on my own, I found multiple cigarette butts in the interior. I'm 19 years old, I don't smoke. No one else had been in my car other than the mechanics at the auto shop. I'm very disappointed in the way my car was treated.

Kayla and Jeremy provided great customer service. They even gave me a free ride to where I needed to be after I dropped my car off! My car was then fixed on the same day. 5/5 experience. Couldn t have been better.

Kayla provided excellent customer service, even provided shuttle service herself for my first year college student when she needed brakes on her car. Being three hours away, it was a relief to find a family owned repair shop that went the extra step to make sure my daughter was able to get back to her car after the repairs were complete. Thank you to The Auto Shop Will definitely use them again if needed!!!10/2023 UpdateMy daughters car needed an oil change (which was brought to our attention at the previous visit and recommended but declined by me) so of course I called The Auto Shop for the service. Again, nothing but great customer service from none other than Kayla who recalled working with me previously. They communicated with me after completing diagnostics and services were completed within the hour. It s so nice to have somewhere that you can trust to do great work at a decent price, especially when it involves the safety of your child. Having only lived in Carbondale for a year, I was super pleased to find The Auto Shop. It can be so hard to find honest and compassionate mechanics and staff but my one experience at this business will certainly have me returning as needed.Beginning my communications with Kayla and ending them with Jeremy, I felt I was in empathetic and experienced hands the whole time.Also, having a relatable customer service background, I know how challenging it can be to make difficult calls that customers absolutely won't want to receive. Although I went in hoping for a couple hundred dollars to be my max, I left with it be a couple thousand...however, I was given time, understanding, and thorough explanations by the staff which made all the difference. This was my first repair job done by these guys. They were wonderful from start to finish. Not only is the service good, but also the documentation, which makes a very clear story of what was done by whom, and divided, and itemized by labor and parts. I think I have found a friend in Carbondale.

Had another round of major work done recently. It's amazing how long I've grown complacent with the character of my car, and now feels like it's 100k miles younger. Again excellent work, probably the first time I'll say I trust my mechanic. Thanks guys.

My drivers side window had stopped rolling up. Per the receptionist I would receive texts and email updates. I dropped off on Wednesday morning and while not expecting it to be done, I would hope for update. Two days went by and I finally called the shop. I was told the problem was found out and could be fixed the same day. The other receptionist said she was shocked I didn t receive anything. The job is done and I happy my window regulator works but I m disappointed in being the dark for the time between the repair.

I took my car to the Auto Shop after another shop had messed up something with my car. They figured out the issue and fixed it. My car is driving better. It was a pricey fix but for what they had to do it was reasonable

I took off work for a waste of time. Easy online process to schedule an appt but I arrived at 9:20am bc I thought it was at 9:30 but learned it was at 9:00, subsequently the tech started working on another car and they suddenly was short a worker therefore could not get me in until the next day. The guy did a lot of talking in circles to me while never ever actually looking up at me. I m not even going to bother going back, I know what welcoming customer service looks like and I didn t see it here. I went right over to Valvoline to get an oil change, tire rotation and wiper blade replacement. I ll deal with my brakes with another shop who wants my business. Thanks for nothing

The Auto Shop cannot be beaten. They got new tires on my Volvo in exactly the time they promised. They are such friendly people. And they knew how to use my virtual card. I'm very pleased.

Their pricing of diagnostic is misleading, I would say. They make u sign agreement for $150 ish for so called diagnostic, which is basically a report out of a OBD2 scanner. If it was only about the OBD2 report, we can get it for free in any autopart shop for free.When you say the "charge for diagnostic", I would assume the charge for you to say me what's wrong with my car. Not just a report out of scanner and another call for more amount for further detailed diagnostic for some " probable issues" . Of course, if you dig deeper, there could be 10 more unrelated things wrong with the older cars but again, if you already charged me for the diagnostics, why would I pay extra again for so called " further diagnostics" to find out what's wrong with the car?Why not just name the initial cost as " primary OBD2 reader report" cost? Wouldn't it be clearer for the customers?I opted not to go for their " further diagnostics" for additional cost. I basically paid $ 157 for OBD2 report and parking my car in their shop for 2 days.

This shop is friendly and easy to work with but I am unhappy with how much they charge to perform simple repairs. It cost me $200 to diagnose and replace my old battery. My car would not start and I had to tow it there, leaving me with no choice but to have them perform these services. I honestly thought that it was a starter or something more serious because my previous battery was replaced 1.5 years ago and the lights/automatic functions of the car worked fine. I think this is unbelievable and am lucky that I did not have any other repairs with this company because I could see the bill being much worse. The battery they replaced my old one with is supposed to be one of the best available and it was very well-priced at $182 (surprisingly) but their labor and diagnostic costs are astronomical. I knew the diagnostic fee was a little high, but I assumed it would provide me with much information about my car. Boy, was I wrong. For a $72 general inspection I was told my battery was dead and my alternator and starter are fine. No other information about my fourteen year old car came up. This tells me they did not look very far and charged me beaucoup bucks to tell me my battery was bad. I do not think they are a bad company but I also think their customer base is compiled of people who do not care how much they spend on repairs or are very unfamiliar with the reasonable cost of those repairs. I am not one of those people and I will be trying a different auto shop in the future.Service: Battery

This place is amazing! Great customer service definitely will be the shop to work on my vehicle maintenance. I love how they constantly communicate with you keeping you updated about the progress and conditions of your vehicle through text messages or a phone call. Kayla was very nice and helpful! She made my car experience with the Auto shop a pleasure I would recommend this shop to anyone. Very competent bunch of mechanics here. They look out for each other and more importantly for the customer. Jeremy esp brings with himself a ton of patience with some (otherwise)unreasonable customers. I had my malfunctioning headlights switched by him. Clean job and reasonable prices.I'll recommend to anyone who wants to have a job done on their car.

The horn on my car needed to be fixed. I was quoted a price of $100 to $300 and it ended up costing way over a thousand. The price kept changing every time they called. It took over a week so I had to walk everywhere. The workers had to take many pieces of the car apart just to figure out what the problem was. They ordered parts for the wrong thing and then fixed something that didn t need fixing and charged for it. Then they had to order new parts and fix the actual problem. I feel like I should not of been charged for the mistake and extra ordered parts.

I've taken vehicles here periodically, over the years. They are reliable in their estimated timelines, very thorough in their inspections/diagnoses, and highly communicative in the work they suggest, and in its order of importance. They are not the least expensive in the region, but the cost is fair and made up by only having to have singular issues fixed once and correctly. They're also genuinely decent people.

Everything the Auto Shop has done for me has been done promptly at a reasonable cost. The work was done well. What I most like about the Auto Shop is the friendly, honest people who work there. They always tell me what is wrong and what the cost will be. They also help prioritize the most urgent repairs and schedule any remaining items to fit my budget. I have two cars (both over 20 years old) and I get them cared for by Auto Shop. Most recently I brought them both in for routine maintenance (oil change "plus") and Auto Shop got them both done and back to me quickly. Auto Shop has definitely been responsible for the fact that I've been able to keep my cars (and in good condition) for so long.

Everyone was extremely polite, and helpful. They were able to get me in very quick and since I live a few towns over I was staying at a hotel until my car was ready. When they heard that they immediately put a rush on my service to get it done within hours to keep me from spending money on a 2nd hotel night. They are very thorough and care about their work. The receptionist even gave me a ride to my hotel and then picked me up from my hotel when my car was ready so I didn't have to waste money on Ubers. (they offered. I didn't even ask for a ride) They make sure you fully understand every aspect of the process. They don't try to trick you like some places. They even went through all my car warranty contract with me to help me understand my coverage. I will be using them for all my maintenance and repairs in the future. I couldn't have been happier with the service I received. They should rename it from "The Auto Shop" to "The Best Auto Shop"Services: Vehicle Inspection, General repairs

I'm ok w thier service and they seem nice enough BUT .... it took 3 weeks to do a ignition switch replacement/rebuild. Not because it's complicated and takes a while, but because the tech assigned to my vehicle went on a 2 week vacation. That cost me 600 additional in car rental fees while my car sat there. The repair should have been reassigned to another tech. In the end it only took them 3 hrs to complete the repairs but it took 3weeks to get to it. Unacceptable by anyone's standards. I typically go to the local dealership when I need my car worked on, but when I called to make an appointment they were booked out for a month. I did not want to wait that long and I stumbled upon The Auto Shop online.They were phenomenal! Not only did they fit me in last minute, they also offered to take me to and from the shop knowing I didn t have a ride home. They kept me updated on the status of my vehicle repair and did great work. I will definitely be returning for future maintenance.

I have never experienced this level of transparency from an auto mechanic service! Kayla thank you for all of the kindness that you showed me during the process of getting my brakes repaired!! This place send u pictures of the issues with ur vehicle and full description services, parts and labor. This was the best auto experience that I have ever encountered.
