I see a running theme in many of these reviews: Knowledgeable. It s true, Paul is very knowledgeable, and he takes joy in sharing that knowledge. Every time I talk with him, I learn something new about either my car or cars in general, and he never makes me feel stupid for not knowing in the first place. I m big on preventative maintenance. Paul is very good about running diagnostics, printing up the reports for me and when he suggests maintenance, he shows me pictures of my car to explain what and why he is suggesting it.Bonus: Not only is Paul knowledgeable, he is professional, dependable and trustworthy too!Services: Carburetor cleaning, Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Paul is my go-to-guy when it comes to any and all mechanical issues with my vehicle. I can assure you Paul is very knowledgeable and knows exactly what he's doing. I've been doing business with him since summer 2016. From a bad alternator, change of brakes, brake pads and oil changes, install new tires, just to name a few. I just recently had an engine wiring harness installed due to the poor job quality that another party had done. I can sincerely tell you that I rely on Paul getting any, if not all, of your vehicle issues fixed, on time, and at a fair price.

Paul did a wonderful assessment of my F250 Diesel truck. He was so thorough and explained every single aspect of what needed worked on and why. My truck now runs beautifully. A VERY clean shop. Super smart mechanic. Very professional and happy to explain everything to the customer.Paul and Barret are excellent mechanics- very helpful in providing great car care on my Toyota Avalon.Very honest, ethical shop w/ attention to detail !

I brought Paul a 2009 Bra Bus smart car.Engine light on.Said he hadnt5worked on one, but a car was a car and he would fix it.Had a dirty air filter and a lot of carbon buildup.Got it back and it runs like a new one.I am very impressed by Paul's knowledge of how things work and his professional knowledge!A wonderful mechanic!

I highly recommend Stock s Underhood Specialists for your automotive services. Talking with Paul has shown me he knows what he is talking about when it comes to vehicle repairs. He is very knowledgeable on vehicles, can explain what needs to be looked at for diagnosing the problem, along with the repairs itself. Paul showed me his business integrity by wanting to diagnose the problem correctly the first time, and advise me on what to do with the vehicle. What was best for me financially by getting the correct part replaced. My friend told me about Stock s Underhood Specialists years ago when he was impressed about the repairs that had been done on his MG sports car. I didn t move my business to Stock s Underhood Specialists years ago, but now that I have interacted with them, I will.I had my truck at a different auto repair shop. I was told that my truck needed the oil pump replaced, which is internal on this engine. It was quoted at 14.6 hours labor plus the parts, and diagnostic fees. It was a large amount of money to get my truck repaired, especially with my lower mileage. That s when I remembered my friend telling me how much he recommended Stock s Underhood Specialists. When I called Stock s, I talked on the phone with Paul for 40 minutes while he was asking me questions about what the truck was doing/not doing. He asked me what the other auto repair shop did to diagnose it. I told him I had no idea. He told me what questions to ask the other auto repair shop, and what answers they expect. Paul went on to tell me that if you don t do all of these other tests, there is no way to confirm what the problem is. Paul also told me what else it could be, and why these other things need to be ruled out.When I called the other repair shop and asked them the questions I had learned, I found out that they didn t do all of the diagnostic tests that were required. They couldn t tell me what my oil pressure readings were with an analog pressure gauge being put on the engine for testing to make sure there wasn t something else going on with the engine. From there Paul told me he was able to text on his business phone as he had time. He texted me several times after our original conversation. He even continued to text me, and educate me after I agreed to have the other company repair it because they made me a price I couldn t refuse. Because Paul told me everything I needed to know to keep the other company honest, and diagnose it correctly the other company was caught not diagnosing it properly. I told the other company I was taking my truck elsewhere (Stock s).After several conversations with the other company they made me a deal I couldn t refuse. They offered to diagnose it properly, and if they found the same problem and recommended the same repair they would take 50% (approximate $1000) off the original quoted price. I had the other company repair my truck because they made me a financial offer I couldn t refuse. But without the help of Paul, I would have been paying a lot more for the repair, and the other company would have been guessing as to what part to replace. I learned a lot from talking to Paul. He educated me a lot on what I should know about diagnosing a vehicle properly. I have nothing but respect for Paul s company, Stock s Underhood Specialists. I plan on giving Stock s more of my business the next time I need services.I think what I learned most is the value of someone educating you about your vehicle and the options you might have. Cars have become very complex and all I hear is how much it s going to cost. So be careful out there, that diagnosis you're getting may be nothing more than someone s best guess. Ask questions.

I've never been one to review services or goods online, but in this rare instance I have no choice. Paul and his crew are bar none the BEST automotive service provider I have EVER USED! Aside from the obvious EXPERT KNOWLEDGE AND SERVICE Stock's provides, their kindness and attention to the customer's unique circumstances and needs are undeniably second to none! Without a doubt my family and I are customers for LIFE! I wholeheartedly recommend and endorse Stocks and have told my friends and co-workers that Stocks is the ONLY PLACE to go for your mechanical and service needs! Thank You Paul!

Paul is amazing at what he does. I thought my car was leaking brake fluid, so Paul squeezed me in his busy schedule since it could be a safety issue. It turns out that it was just a leak from the radiator hose and he was able to fix it quickly. He was very professional and took the time to go over a full inspection of my car. I will be using Stock's for all my future car needs.

It's a real challenge to find a competent auto service and repair center that you can really trust...Paul Stock and his team are as honest and competent as they come. Paul Stock is quite happy to educate you on the latest complexities of automobile technology and what you can do to extend the expected life of your vehicle if you commit to a preventative maintenance program...I expect that the 2007 vehicle we purchased new could last us many more years/miles, possibly a decade or more and many 10's of thousands of miles based on the care that Paul provides with regular preventative maintenance....It's well worth the drive for me from West County to entrust Paul and his team to look after our vehicle....Be rest assured that you will be in good hands with Paul Stock and Stock's Underhood Specialists....

This is by far the best shop I have ever taken a vehicle to. I won't go anywhere else. Some other mechanics will just send you home if their computer isn't showing a problem, even though you've been having issues. That won't happen here because Paul will actually listen to you and diagnose the problem based on your experiences, not just what the codes say. This is a huge relief when you're dealing with a sensor issue that only acts up under specific circumstances. Paul's shop is a about an hour and twenty minutes from where I live. There are a lot of automotive places a lot closer, but if I have an issue with one of my trucks I know Paul will find it and fix it. I am fairly particular about vehicle maintenance and Paul Stock has never disappointed me. I have and will continue to recommend him.

I really recommend this shop! Paul was very knowledgeable, honest and kind. I was told by a couple of shops that I was in need of an engine without doing a thorough diagnostic. I then took my car to Paul and saved thousands finding out the problem wasn t exactly my engine. Thank you Paul. I will be doing business here again!

My husband and I have been using Stock's Underhood Specialist for over15 years. We first started going to them because they are AAA rated and we receive a AAA discount BUT that's not why we stayed.Paul always has the time to explain things in detail. He gives his customers a printout that shows all items that need attention and they're rated; so you know which ones are a priority due to safety hazard and which one can wait until next payday!Stock's makes it so EASY for us to stay on top of everything with all our vehicles.Since we started using Stock's, our vehicles receive the tunes ups, oil and belt changes, etc at the manufacturers recommended time; not when something is going wrong!I HIGHLY recommend STOCK'S UNDERHOOD SPECIALISTS to everyone

I took my recently purchased pre-owned 2010 Cadillac CTS4 Performance Collection into Stock's Underhood Specialist for an inspection due to a referral by AAA and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. I found Paul Stock's knowledge of the ever changing business of automotive maintenance and repair both extensive and well communicated in person and in the self written handouts that he will send home with you if desired.I would heartily suggest that anyone considering buying a preowned car from either a dealer or an individual pay the modest fee to have Paul and his employees do an extensive prepurchase inspection before making a final commitment. They really do a thorough top to bottom and front to back inspection that is well worth the approximately $130 fee with the useful information it provides. It will either give you peace of mind regarding your substantial purchase or it will give you strong leverage in negotiations with the seller to either have the issues fixed or adjust the purchase price based on problem areas that came up during the inspection.Paul's underlying philosophy is that a proper and timely vehicle maintenance program will help avoid far more costly repairs down the road as you take your vehicle well over 100K miles as most people do today. And, I have to agree with him on that! After all, your vehicle (or vehicles like me!) will probably be the second largest purchase you make after your residence and it can be cery costly in both time and money if you get it wrong.Paul Stock will help lay out an intelligent and financially prudent program to maintain your vehicle based on the manufacturer recommendations as well as research found online which includes strengths and weaknesses in each particular vehicle that the factory or dealer doesn't always want to share.I heartily and comfortably refer anyone to Stock Underhood Specialists before or after their vehicle purchase as smart and cheap purchasing insurance and/or for a better ownership return on your automotive investment. I finally found my mechanics-for-life. Paul and Garrett has been keeping my car running for a few years now and he really is the mythical honest mechanic you dream about. Paul always takes the time to sit down with me and explain everything regarding how different parts of my car work and what my options are when it comes to repairs. These guys are good, decent people and great mechanics.

I took my 1972 mgb to them with a blown engine. I can t say enough about how knowledgeable Paul and Garrett were on what all needed completed. They did a fantastic job and helped me make informed decisions on what needed completed and were always upfront and honest. The car drives like a dream and I will never take it anywhere else. They are fantastic and will always use them for all my cars. If you have a classic this is where it needs to be for maintenance and repairs big or small.

I had my vehicle maintenance with Stock's for several years before I moved across the river to MO and I did not fully appreciate the service I received until I had to find a new mechanic. The service professionals at Stock's take the time to know your vehicle, and explain the preventative measures that can be taken to prolong its life. They are true professionals in a high tech automotive world.

The staff at Stock's do a fantastic job of advising you on the condition of your car. Not just the work you need but how the condition of the car will affect driving. Very knowledgeable and personable. You compromise a little with ease of scheduling and speed of service compared to bigger shops but totally worth it.

Stock's is a great place for car care. I was having battery problems, and Paul showed me where mine was leaking and got me a great price on a replacement. Installation was neat and he even cleaned up the mess my old battery made. Highly recommended!

I started to use stocks a few years ago after seeing write-ups in AAA magazine. I found Paul to be extremely knowledgeable about vehicles. He is able to relate his knowledge to the customer. I have been to Stock's several times and have found Paul and his crew to be very knowledgeable, thorough, extremely fairly priced, and kind to boot. I learn something useful and new every time I go! I feel like I have found the equivalent of a family doctor for my vehicles. I will never go back to drive thru service centers.

Great honest work. First time had car worked on, they spent alot of time and effort diagnosing the problem instead of just 'replacing something.' They took the time to explain what they were doing and what the car problem was as it was not an easy to spot problem. They spent more time on it than they charged for, and they repaired it the first time. Great shop for car repairs. Don't hesitate to take your car there. John

Stock's does great work. Paul will explain everything that's going on with your car. I love it! It's like going to school, however, you need the time...I was worried Stock's was super pricey, but I had some work done, with 2 other quotes and Stock's was the cheapest.

Very knowledgeable mechanics. Kept me up to date via texting messaging. Pricing on my parts and repair where very reasonable. With my car being out of commission I did not have a ride to get back to my house or to pick it up my car. They gave me a ride back to my house and came to pick me back up after the reairs where completed. I highly recommend if your in need of auto repair to call or stop in. Customer services was outstanding. Thank you for getting me back up and running.

It was really just a routine oil change, but they don't do routine oil changes at Stock's. There's also a thorough inspection involved, and an issue with the floorboard was found. I didn't expect it, but I'm glad they found it and brought it to my attention. Stock's Underhood Specialists is not just about vehicle maintenance; they are truly about total car care.
