We have taken all of our vehicles to Mike at Stein Automotive for over a decade at least. He is super friendly and always gives us excellent service. He has been great keeping our 'older' cars running so we don't have to buy a new one (although I am sure he wishes we would) :)

Mike and everyone are awesome. Trustworthy, good service and great reasonable prices. They don't charge to look at your car. Just to fix it. Great communication and updates. Wouldn't take my chances anywhere else.

This place is horrible, I took my car here to get worked on & they just sat my car on the curbside of the & someone wreaked my car & 3 other cars & Stein Automotive did nothing to help me or to fix my car they don t have insurance on the place so if something like this happens again or just if anything happens to your car on there property your out of luck also Stein was so rude & nonchalant about the whole thing I do not see how this horrible broke down ratchet ole place got almost 5 stars this is sad Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I stopped in for help with affixing a front license plate to a used vehicle that I recently purchased and had just received the plates for. I was unaware that a special bracket was needed which needed to be purchased separately. I had no problem that they were unable to assiat me. However, the male who I spoke with did not treat me very kindly. His demeanor was unfriendly and condescending. Like chivalry, quality customer service is not dead. Just don't count on these guys to provide it. Go to Patterson Automotive on Delaware Ave in Belleville. The owner is kind, friendly, knowledgable and honest.

I have been a customer for over 30 years and would highly recommend Stein Automotive as a top notch shop. They have my upmost respect as an honest and qualified auto repair shop.

I've used Steins for over 5 years, and they have always done excellent work. (It should be noted that because of their good reputation, you generally have to wait a day or two before they can get you on their schedule. ) The thing that also stands out is their practice of NOT DOING work that isn't necessary, e.g. brakework, fluid changes, etc. Very helpful answering questions you might have regarding your car, and fair prices for the work they do perform.

I had recently PCSed to Scott AFB and my van was diagnosed with a cracked block by an oil change place so I went on the hunt for a mechanic. Found Stein Automotive in Belleville Illinois. Mike and team determined it was a bad intake or head gasket (this was awhile ago and I don't really remember). They repaired it for cheaper than the national average. Then about a year later my wife had totalled her car so we were car shopping. Found a possible good deal on a used rental but was suspect due to its history. Brought it to Stein Automotive and Mike gave me an honest assessment. Later the same day found a much better car at a good deal. Mike's honest assessment may have saved me a lot of trouble. I highly recommend Stein Automotive for anyone near Belleville and Scott AFB.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

I called the shop in the morning and talked to Mike. I informed him that I live in Austin, Tx and that my daughter goes to school in Belleville and that she had some issues with her car that needed attention. He was very friendly and asked that she go ahead and bring it in to take a look at it. My daughter dropped off the car later that morning and it was ready the next day and for a very reasonable price. I called and got them paid over the phone and he informed me that he has been in business since '72 and that I wouldn't ever get anything put on my car that we didn't need. Stein Automotive sounds like a place I can trust with my kiddos car for any needed repairs and I'm super glad to find a place we can trust since she is so far away from home.

Long story short:Detected diagnosis and I was able to pick up my vehicle within 6 hours of dropping it off (no appt necessary), gave me an adjustment pricing and referred me to Bobby Bittle Belleville Auto shop.Decent. Which decent for me is above average. And I gave the company 5 stars, that should count for itself. Unfortunately, in these times, that's not always the case.

The best I have ever delt with. Mike is reasonable. He has worked on all of my cars. If he can't do it, he'll point you in the right direction.

They are very honest and trustworthy.They don't believe in charging you more than what you need. They can be be a little busy, but they are worth it.

I don't trust anyone but Mike and his crew to work on my vehicles. If you can't fix it, take it to Mike. Don't go to the chain stores!

Been going to Stein for 20 years now. I've moved out of Belleville, but still take my cars there. Anything I can't fix, the technicians at Stein can do it without drama.
