I brought my Daughters Porshe Caynne in to the dealer for a small rattle in the control cluster above the rear view mirror. I waited for the service manager to check out the rattle for 20 minutes. He became available and got in the driver's seat with me in the passenger seat and I told him that the rattle was not that loud but in the quiet car it was annoying. He proceeded to get ready to drive and set the air conditioning Fan to the highest setting. This was obviously in my oppinion a way to not hear any small rattle. I reached over to adjust the fan speed lower to make it quieter in the car and he got loud telling me to leave his air con control alone! I wanted to yell at him that that is My control on My car but I bit my tongue to see what happened next. I guess we are going the confrontational way.So about half way through the test drive he told me that he didn't hear any rattle. I told him that I know what it sounds like and I heard it a few times barely over the noise of the max speed fan noise.Then he turned the fan down some and said he could hear it a little and that we should see how it went as the car was only 2 weeks old.Clearly in my opinion this was a clever tactic to dismiss our rattle noise claim.In a $90,000.00 car there should not be any old car rattles.I expected more from a Porshe service department. I have been "handled" by many service people over the years. I have built my own race car so I know a thing or two. The Honda, Acura and Lexus dealers I have dealt with most recently have been great. Tesla have been mixed but that Porshe service manager deserves his review.My daughter fixed the issue beating on the cluster a bit to get it to stop creaking.She and her husband Love their Porshe Cayanne! They still like the dealer Motorwerks of Barrington. They felt they got a great car at a great deal.This review is only for the porshe service department.I have great Motorworks experiences too.
