Bought a certified Volvo here yesterday and it was a great experience! We worked with Derrick and he was awesome! Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable without being aggressive or pushy while we decided which car was right for us. I d highly recommend.

The practically brand new used car we were shown the price for had a hidden $1,600 accessories package on it which was mandatory. It was explained that this was a ceramic coating on the car, which needed to be reapplied every time the car is sold. A little odd considering this vehicle had 5,000 miles on it.Tried to act like they couldn t make money on the car without it. According to the FTC, you have the rights to refuse any products or services that increase the price of the vehicle .We were told point blank that they cannot sell the vehicle without the made up fee.They also offered a very high interest rate, but implied it would only get higher if we didn t buy some extended warranty.I hope the dealership reads this, we were and frankly are still interested in this vehicle, but at the honest price we were told it would be at. All I ask for is a transparent and fair price with no extra warranties or addons.It is a shame that your unethical sales tactics drove off an excited Volvo customer and spoiled your brand image.

This past week I had a great experience at the McGrath Volvo dealership in Barrington buy my new car. I was in need of a used car before the winter and was able to get just the car I was looking for. I had the honor of working with Sales Specialist Derrick, who helped to make the process of buying my car seamless! Derrick was able to answer all the questions I had regarding the vehicle I was interested in buying and was very honest and upfront about everything regarding the vehicles history which I truly appreciated! If anyone in the area is looking for a dealership to buy a new or used car from, I recommend the McGrath Volvo dealership in Barrington! Every staff member was so kind and generous and made the whole process smooth and efficient.

Excellent experience from the start. Website reflects real prices, and no runarounds when you get there. Alex the sales manager was professional, honest, and friendly. Sales associate Danny was very knowledgable and helpful as well. One of the best car dealership experiences I have had in years. Then the cherry on top was the friendly finance manager Andrea who walked through the complimentary warranties and did not pressure extended warranties but still in a friendly manner gave the option if I wanted it. This place knows how to treat customers and as long as your reasonable and fair they will return the favor. If they have a car you're looking for, I recommend based on my experience!

Bought our Volvo XC90 B6 Ultimate and we are loving it. Franz Mausser was great in helping us pick out car we wanted. Whole team at McGrath Volvo are great. No pressure and explained everything to us.

I have been debating on a couple vehicles and decided to take a look at the Volvos. Danny Tran was so kind and informative, helped me decide on the model and trim I would like. Did not feel pressured or rushed to make a decision at any time by him or his manager, Alex. A great dealership to do business with, and a great brand to purchase from.

After weeks of searching the internet, I was drawn to McGrath Volvo for the excellent pricing.I had an all around AMAZING experience with the McGrath family. It was an absolute pleasure working with Derrick Acker. He answered questions that I didn't even know I had regarding the performance of the Volvos I test drove. As a single woman, I had a fear of making a bad purchase. Derrick's friendly caring attitude and patience allowed me to make a quality decision in purchasing a 2020 Volvo S60. I also had the pleasure of working with Andrea Santeliz in finance to finalize the paperwork with a phenomenal warranty. She was just as warm and friendly. Thank You All for making it the Best car buying experience ever!!!I love, Love, LOVE MY NEW CAR!!!!!!!

We unfortunately did not purchase the car we had our eyes set on but our sales reps Derrick and Dylan went above and beyond. Both we very kind, transparent and helpful. I'd highly recommend working with one of these two gentlemen if you are shopping at McGrath.UPDATE: Derrick reached out when another car that fit what we were looking for arrived at the dealership. It was perfect. We got through the sales process and in house financing so easily. We've had our new ford fusion home for almost a month now. Every time we get in it I'm so pleased. We couldn't be happier with the service and our purchase. Derrick has followed up several times since we purchased to answer questions and make sure we're happy. Highly recommend working with him!

Derrick A. was awesome to work with. I was buying a used vehicle for my teen son and was on a tight budget. He and Din (Finance) were able to get me the deal I wanted without any high pressure tactics from a sales manager. Derrick even came in on his day off to meet my son when we picked up the car. Highly recommend!

I wanted to let you know about Barrington Volvo. We were looking for a car. We saw a Volvo we liked and went over there. Dan Tran in sales showed us the car. He knew all about the car. I say this because some sales people don t know what they are selling. We ended up getting the car. He was great. The process was easy and everyone was great. If you are looking for a Volvo, this is the place to get it.

My wife and I purchased a 2024 XC90 with the help of McGrath associate Luke Wozniak. After visiting other Volvo dealerships to shop for an SUV, we felt that Luke and their team were the most helpful. Most importantly besides having the exact car we were looking for, we didn t feel pressured and was really comfortable working with him on the pricing that we felt was fair. His guidance was instrumental in finding the car we really needed showing us options with a few other models. We visited McGrath twice and made the final purchase on our second visit. Thanks again Luke and team for all your help.

Excellent experience from initial communications to offering us competitive pricing! Michael was wonderful from start to finish and my husband left his wallet and he went out of his way to meet up with us to get it back. He went above and beyond getting us our new family car (since we have a newborn) and feel extremely happy with our decision to go with Volvo and the McGrath location!

Extremely disappointed! Inquired about a vehicle that was posted online. I spoke with Francisco via phone and text and scheduled an appointment to come take a look at the vehicle the same day. I was running late for my appointment so I reached out to Francisco again to let him know, not only out of courtesy and being respectful of his time. But also to make sure the car was still there since I was traveling from downtown Chicago. Francisco proceeds to tell me to Ask for Alex the sales manager when I arrive. After driving an hour to this dealership I get there just to find out that the car was already sold! A waste of my time and gas! I would not recommend this dealership!

After weeks of searching the internet, I went to McGrath Volvo for the excellent pricing. I had an all around AMAZING experience with DIN our salesperson was a pleasure to work!! I have purchased many, many cars in my lifetime and this was, hands down, the best experience I have ever had from start to finish.Andrea in finance made quick work of the process, clearly she is very skilled at her trade. This was the first time I serviced my 8yr old Volvo XC60 at McGrath Volvo Barrington. I have been going to the same dealer since it was brand new. My car was barely starting and the Volvo dealer I usually go to would not see my car for nearly 3 weeks unless I had it towed in. Even if I could start it and drive it in! And who knew when they would get to it. So I called McGrath Volvo Barrington and they said I could bring it in same day! And they fixed my problem in the same day, in addition to doing maintenance service which was due. Matt and the service dept were outstanding! I got my car back within 4hrs and now it is running better than ever. McGrath Volvo Barrington is my new Volvo dealer. I am NEVER going back to that OTHER dealer!

The staff here is wonderful. We had ordered something online and asked if we could pick it up. They said it would not be a problem. We live about an hour and a half from Volvo. I called and asked how late they were open, that we should be there 15 minutes before and the employee said no problem if you are a little later to just call. That someone would be there. We did get there on time and they had our order ready and he helped my husband put it in the truck. Very pleasant and friendly. If we need anything for our Volvo, we will travel the distance again, just because of the great customer service we received.

Just bought our second Volvo from McGrath Barrington. Got to work with familiar faces, Ali and Andrea. Worked with a new salesperson Danny Tran. Danny is great! Knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend this dealership. Have always been treated well by the team.

I can't recommend the service department enough at Mcgrath Volvo. I needed some major warranty repairs on my XC60, and Matt Solimini took care of me in the most professional and courteous manner. He handled the whole matter with the warranty company and was very communicative with updates on the progress. We even got a nice loaner for the whole time the work was being done. Every business could benefit from an employee like Matt. Excellent experience overall.

Recently purchased a used S60 online and had it delivered here in South Dakota. Fransico helped facilitate the process via phone and text. I had never seen the car other than pics or test drove it. From the moment it showed up till now, over 2k miles later. I m blown away and cannot be happier or more impressed!! Thank you!

I scheduled an oil change and was told it always takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Seems ridiculous that an oil change would take that long with an appointment. It should be 30 minutes at most in my opinion. Seems like they should put more effort into streamlining their service department. I will definitely not be coming here for service again!

This review is to compliment your Product Specialist Danny Tran!Recently I stopped by to look at the XC60 Recharge. Danny kindly introduced himself and asked if he could help me. I was very transparent that I was just checking out this vehicle as it is one of the selections for my fleet vehicle benefit. I purposely make sure I attempt to stop by when it is not too busy as I do not want to take a reps time away from a customer who may purchase the vehicle directly from them.Danny was wonderful! He enthusiastically and graciously spent time with me explaining the key features of the vehicle. We looked at all the colors. Then he kindly let me test drive the vehicle! During our test drive Danny took time to continue to explain the vehicle benefits, switching from electric to gas, etc Even though he knew he would not receive a commission from me he treated me like his most important customer!The good news is that I ordered the XC60 Recharge. I am beyond excited! I am hoping it will be delivered to your dealership. Even if it is not, you will be my dealership of choice for any service needed.I truly thank your dealership and specifically Danny for his outstanding customer service! I have been ordering a fleet vehicle every 3-4 years for over 30 years now. So many dealers will not give you the time of day. I understand they are busy. What they miss out on is a referral to my vast network of friends and customers. Rest assured, if anyone mentions they are looking for a Volvo they will be immediately referred to McGrath and Danny!

McGrath Volvo Barrington has hidden fees even though they try to tell you otherwise. Their Accessory Fee is a scam and a hidden fee. They also make you pay $1700 to certify a used vehicle. We purchased from Northfield Volvo where they sold used vehicles pre-certified (they covered the cost) and had ZERO hidden fees. It really felt like Barrington Volvo only cared about making a deal rather than taking care of their customers after we were taken care of with amazing customer service and honesty at Northfield Volvo. They also only offered us extremely high interest rates due to the fact that they do not certify their own cars. In my opinion, this place is a scam that I would not consider for any future car purchases.

Great buying experience for my first car. Super reliable dealership with some good deals. I worked with Derrick who was insanely friendly, and went super out of his way to track down missing service records, and make sure the car was as I wanted it. I NEVER felt pressured or uncomfortable, which a lot of other car dealerships/salesman will do. Highly recommend this place !
