Sent a technician of mine there for a battery replacement, oil change, & to fix the hood latch on 4/8 at around noon (I manage a fleet of vehicles). As a fleet account, they are required to call a supervisor for any work prior to performing however, they claim that my technician authorized the work which would have been fine in this case (even though that is not protocol) except the technician was only authorizing the three things we went there for. They claimed a valve cover was leaking and needed to be replaced. At 3:30 pm they called and said the vehicle would be ready for pick up in 15 minutes. The tech was dropped off at their shop and every 10-15 minutes they kept telling him it's almost done. Then at 5:30pm they tell him they can't get the valve cover until 4/10 and he would have to find a ride home. I called them immediately explaining that he has no ride and to have the store manager call me immediately. I then had to call an Uber to get my technician a ride home. The store manager tried calling me the next day from an unknown number at 3:15pm however, he did not leave a message. He did call again today and when I asked for proof of the authorization for the valve covers he had no response. I encourage him to post a picture of that authorization however, I am confident that he is not able to do so since it never happened. DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE!!!!

Extremely disappointed with Firestone (Aurora, Il- Farnsworth location). Took my car in after discovering low coolant in the reservoir. Was told my coolant was leaking at the thermostat/thermostat was stuck in the open position. Was also told I had 2 separate oil leaks. After being quoted a large $$ in repairs that was needed, I took my car for a second opinion to the dealership in which I purchased my vehicle. Dealership found that none of what Firestone claimed to be wrong was accurate. In fact- I did not have a coolant or any oil leaks. My advice- be weary of doing business with Firestone and don t be afraid to get a second opinion.

I took my car in for an oil change and (1) the oil was overfilled, (2) the tire pressure was not adjusted, (3) the windshield wiper was not filled, and (4) the oil change alert was not reset. It also says that Firestone will "check the levels of other important fluids." I'm not sure what these other fluids were, since no other fluids in my car were checked. When we pointed out these details, Firestone claimed they were out of windshield wiper fluid. I asked if they were also out of air pressure, and they couldn't give me an answer. They also refused to believe they overfilled the oil and said I should have taken before and after pictures. I said they could call the Walmart Auto Center and ask for my service receipt. They said Walmart Auto Center also lied to us.I also paid for an inspection. On the inspection it was recommended that I get a "Coolant Fluid Exchange." This was recommended by Firestone a year ago. Last year, they told me that it was because of the mileage it was something they just recommended. However, they failed to inform us that the levels were below the "low" mark. When we didn't decide to complete any additional services, they did not warn us to not drive the car, or to get it done immediately somewhere else. Walmart Auto Body immediately alerted us that the coolant was at a severely low level. Firestone told us we were both liars. They claimed it was my own fault for having my mother pick up the car rather than come in myself. They said that she was lying as well.No actions were taken to fix the faulty oil change received, nor was any accountability taken for not making us aware of the severity of the issue with our coolant.I have never had any issues on this car, and have always serviced at Firestone. This is my first time coming to this location. Seventeen days (17) after service I now have a temperature problem with my transmission. I'm not saying that the two are related, however, they did not recommend a transmission fluid exchange or find any other issues when my car was last in. I have found that the $10 fee for a complete auto inspection hardly checks anything at all and do not recommend others pay for this service. After repeatedly being called a liar, hearing that Walmart Auto is lying, and being served an arrogant attitude, I will never return.

I assume that the employees eventually did the work satisfactorily, although absent taking my car to another mechanic; I can t verify that assumption. That said, this was one of the absolute worst experiences I have had with your service. I was told the work would be done in 3-1/2 to 4 hours so I took an Uber home (expected cost). After about 4 hours I called and I was told about an hour left until ready to pick up . I called again about an hour later and was told it will be ready soon . I Ubered back to the store (expected cost). At the store, after waiting nearly an hour I was repeatedly told, it will be ready soon (and please stop asking, it will be ready when it s ready ). I had to pick up my wife and daughter, so (after I was told it was going to cost more than estimated) I paid, so I could go as soon as the car was ready. I did provide the previously written estimate, and the overcharge was removed. After closing time had come and gone, I told the mechanic to leave the car in the lot with the keys under the mat. I seriously had to go. I Ubered home to get my wife, then we Ubered to my daughter, then later Ubered back to finally get the car (all unexpected costs). The waste of time and money because I couldn t get an honest time estimate was appalling. I have notified the company of these issues, I m awaiting a reply.Friendly front end employee, but overpromised, and very underperformed service. A genuine disappointment, and not anticipated at this location (I ve been using them for years).Maybe it s time to find a new mechanic?

Staff was extremely friendly, however when I called to get an estimate to change the valve cover gasket the quoted price was $855, then after diagnostics the estimated price was $935. When picking up the car the price was over $1k. When the car was picked up, the check engine light was on (which was not the case when dropped off) and the car idles high and stalls. I was told it was the air intake valve/sensor (or something like that), which was quoted from other sources to be between $400-$700. The third thing that I am upset about is they were supposed to clear the exterior drain holes to prevent the car from leaking, which they did not. So all in all, great friendly staff, just disappointed in lack of knowledge with pricing and fixing the original problem at hand without creating another one.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I drove from Elgin to Aurora since in Elgin I had booked an appointment and they sold the tires I was supposed to have installed I felt like my time was wasted. I had my girl call Aurora and set up an appointment an they made up for my was told they would hold the tires and honor the Elgin price. They kept every word and the job was done in a timely manner. Thank you to this Amazing Team!

I visited this location on 8/24/23. I was on my way to work and had some car issues. I called this location and Austin was able to get me in right away. The radiator problem was accessed quickly and the work was performed. Austin and Isaac were great! It was a super hot day out and I really appreciated their efforts while getting my car serviced fast. Everything was explained to my understanding. They had the best customer service! I will be coming back! Thanks again for all that you do!!

I was charged over $1800 and I still have the same problem with my truck, the check engine light came back on the first time I took in on the highway, however after a little discussion with firestone and Austin Phillips the manager of the store all the problems I was having were addressed and resolved, Austin Phillips personally insured the work on my truck was done correctly and with the proper parts , He made sure that I was happy with the results, and I was very happy, my truck is running great again. I want to recommend Austin Phillips and his store they will get to the cause of the problem and fix it, He takes great pride in providing quality service , and he teaches his team to do the same, while talking with him I learned he has been a car guy all his life , that means alot to me, he's not just a guy who learned how to work on cars, he has a passion for them. which means he will get to the cause of the problem and not just keep changing parts until its fixed , He is a real mechanic, go see him you will be satisfied and you vehicle will be fixed properly with quality parts by a qualified mechanic

I wish you had the option of 0 stars,I had 6 days of horrible service trying to get a thermostat installed. Quoted me $168.00 for the job, then they refused to do the work unless I paid 300.oo more because they would never do this job unless they do a total flush of the system, (

Taken my vehicle to this location 5 times since December to have the brakes replaced. First time the location said I simply needed rear brakes. Brakes kept making a noise so took it back and said it now needed front brakes. Took it back and work was not completed because they didn't have the right parts. Then it wasn't completed a second time because they are short staffed. Took it back again and repair was completed but brakes still squeak and grind. Took it to be looked at on 4/7 and they said the brakes look fine, they cleaned them and said they didn't hear any noise. The minute I left the parking lot - you guessed it - the brakes squeak. I've tried calling the store but am put on hold for 20 minutes....tried Firestone corporate but have not gotten a response. Do all you can to avoid this place as the repairs are poor at best. Now I have to take it to another facility for new brakes and pay full cost again because Firestone local and corporate do not honor their word or their work!!!!Service: Brake service & repair

I had a coolant leak in July 2021. Firestone replaced my water pump (the part they believed was leaking) for ~$1300. In November of last year, I took the same car into another mechanic for an oil change where they noted I was still leaking coolant and advised me to contact the Firestone as the part was likely under warranty. I took it back in as they suggested, but the Firestone told me there was no leak. They said smaller mechanics lie about problems to get more business (which makes no sense as they told me to go back to Firestone). I was frustrated but left. Today I took my car to the dealer as my engine overheated and found out - surprise! the coolant is STILL leaking. I don t think the workers at Firestone even inspected the car when I took it back in. To say I m furious would be an understatement. Save your money and take your car to someone who actually cares.

I found myself in quite the predicament this afternoon. I had low tire pressure on my wife's jeep and stopped by the gas station across the street to fill up my tires. Something must have been wrong with their air pump because instead of increasing my tires it was deflating them. I didn't want to drive the car far on very low tire pressure so I called and asked if Firestone could top me up with air. Carlos who answered the phone was kind and super helpful. He took a couple of minutes to fill up my tires and right the wrong from the gas station. On the way home I noticed their sign "open to serve the community" that proved to be more true then I could have imagined.I just want to publicly thank Carlos for the save this afternoon. If I ever need any work done on my car in the future I'll absolutely be stopping by this Firestone location.

Not a good place for car repair. I had to go there since I had a flat and my spare was flat too and they were the closest place. They broke a tire rod, which happens, but the guy made a bunch of excuses as to why it happened and I called him out on each one. Very unprofessional. They fixed my tire which was good, but didn t fill it up and also lost the tire air cap. I had to ask the guy to do it. If you need a repair go someplace else

The store manager was completely professional in dealing with my situation for getting rear brakes put on my SUV.I was kept informed of their findings during the inspection phase of the repairs needed. The work was completed to my satisfaction and the final price was cheaper than the original estimate. I would recommend this Firestone store to anyone needing service work done.Peter

2 hours to fix/replace 1 tire when I was told it would only take a half hour. I understand if you are short staffed but be honest about how long it will take.

They did an ok job. I believe part of the issue is delay in get parts from suppliers. Otherwise nice people to work with. They replaced my broken rusty brake line. Keep in mind I have an 18 yr old Toyota, with over 270k miles.

They diagnosed my vehicle incorrectly. I paid to get a sensor repaired when the real issue is that the engine was completely gone. The issue remained after I drove it off the Firestone lot. I called the manager Austin to explain that the sensor still had an issue. I was in a different town and the mechanic we use all the time was down the street. He said the engine needed complete replacement. I ended up trading that one in for a new vehicle. But the misdiagnosis from Austin cost me $200 for the vehicle to end up being unchanged. When I called for refund 3x they never got back to me.

I do not review alot but this place was awesome. The customer service I received by Austin was beyond amazing. I called on a Thursday afternoon wanting to replace all tires and get front rotors looked at . He had me in and out. Had to order a part witch came in following morning. He called me I came in they replaced the part and again service was beyond what I could ask for. This guy truly cares I hope upper management pats him on the back. I trusted him from the start. NOW A DAYS THATS HARD. Thank you Austin and the techs who took care of my car.

This is a terrible location with terrible service. I have been getting oil changes for over 42 years and have never run into a problem but recently. I had gone to my dealership to get an oil change when they told me that whoever did it last (Firestone) had stripped the oil pan and I had to buy a new one that cost me over $900 with labor included. I took photos of the damaged piece and kept it should I need proof with Firestone. On September 19th I went in person to the store and spoke with Carlos Gonzalez who dismissed me and said he d pass the message along to his manager. I don t know if Carlos did or didn t pass the message on, but I never heard back from Firestone so on October 7th I reported the problem online. Chris, the area manager, treated me like I was a liar and was ready to fight and deny everything. I told him I had both the stripped oil pan and pictures of it if he needed to have that for proof and I just asked for my money back for the damage. Chris said that he d like to see it, so I brought it in on October 17th. When I brought it in none of the people who I had been speaking with were there so it was left with another employee who said he would pass it on. I came back on November 1st to follow up and was told that Chris was on vacation. I called Austin Phillips on November 22nd because I still had not heard anything back and he said that Firestone would not reimburse full price for repair, only $300. I told him this was not acceptable considering the fact that it cost me much more. It was very much a take it or leave it situation so I called his manager Chris and left a message. It s now December and I still haven t gotten a response back. No reimbursement, no apology, no service. I just want my money back for the damages. NEVER using this location ever again, and I m hesitant to even go to another Firestone. They have forever ruined their reputation with me.*Follow up I was finally contacted and agreement reached.*Service: Oil change

DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! Businesses like this location is why the rest of us in the service industry get a bad rap. The last 2 times I was here they tried to rip me off. Keep in mind I have purchased 5 sets of tires from them (different cars) in last 3-4 years. The first time I caught them trying to rip me off they told me my car need an alignment so I did it got print out and the before alignment specs where better then the after alignment specs. I called them out on it they tried making up excuses then said they'd credit the cost. OK honest mistake I thought I try to understand things happen so I decided to give them another shot on a different truck to check brakes and rotate tires. They proceeded to tell me all brakes and rotors needed to be done. Front brakes and rotors where replaced less than a year ago and have 40% life on pads rotors are 100% fine. (Rear pads and rotors where bad)

I used to be a regular customer there but suddenly one day they litterally took my car and kept it for 6 hours just for oil change giving reason that they did not had my filter size...dude you should have checked if you have parts available before accepting my. Car..that being said they also told my car will be ready in 1 hour but they litteraly kept it for 6 hours that made me too uncomfortable...6 hours for oil change was not a good service at all...dnt know what was wrong with them

Skeptical if they can do the job, they went above and beyond! They fixed my Lexus IS brakes and my husbands Bimmer and we are both very happy with service and result! The staff is very friendly and professional. Pricing is competitive! Steve went above and beyond providing information about our vehicles! We highly recommend this car shop.

It really sucks when you are 5 hours from home and your alternator decides to give up the ghost in a gas station parking lot. Fortunately for me, this Firestone was right across the street. One of their team members came over with a battery pack and was able to get it started and I was able to drive it across the street to the shop. Replacing an alternator in a Nissan XTerra is not a fun experience but the team did a great job getting it done and at a price that was right where I knew it was going to be. In a few hours I was back on my way home, no worse for the wear. Can't ask for more - great price, great technicians and great service.
