My car's transmission was broken by the people who changed my oil. I was concerned about the cost but I heard the AAMCO was reputable and to be trusted. They gave me a great price considering it is a transmission and fixed it within a week. The manager even spoke to the oil company that broke my car. I really appreciate them taking care of me and my car.

I took my BMW with engine warning signs. After 3 days I had to towed back my car with bunch of BMW codes and had to pay 250 dollars without getting any satisfaction. They could not fix it and just throw a engine replacement cost of 16 thousands. They might be good at fixing some old japanese cars, which I do not know. Certainly this place is not good enough for high end cars.

I had my Transmission rebuilt here and i am now living in Northern Michigan. Three months after the transmission was rebuilt it fell apart with less than 2000 miles. I took it to a great shop in Ypsilanti Michigan because they are the closest one. The shop has been trying to get Charlies shop to okay the repairs because that is how it works and they are dragging their feet. I have been without a vehicle now for three weeks that i had to tow 160 miles to the nearest shop. This shop is not responsive to problems with work they performed and are causing a great cost for me. I would not use this facility for anything ever again, they are not customer orientated and apparently don't do good work. I'm sure they have satisfied customers but myself very disappointed with the results of his warranty work. I would not use them for anything.Service: Transmission

My mother has been going to Charlie for 8 years. Aamco in Arlington Heights has been servicing her car since 2011. Charlie has been willing to go beyond expectations to help my mother with her car and make it affordable for any financial situations. He has great customer service within his shop. All his workers are amazing and the quality is beyond amazing. Aamco is an amazing place that always is able to help us out.

We have been bringing our cars here for routine oil changes, repairs, and brake work for over 20 years. They always perform the work in a professional manner. Charlie in customer service always explains the work, and gives you a fair price. The owner Alan also is trustworthy when it comes to whether it might be time to stop putting money into an older car.We highly recommend this shop for their quality care and mechanics who ho above and beyond to make the customer happy.

My Cadillac SRX had multiple issues prior to bringing my vehicle to AAMCO. I was referred by my dear friend who raved about their quality & excellent service. Not only did they quickly diagnose all the issues right away, Allen the owner and Charlie the office manager checked in daily and provided in full detail from start to finish. I really appreciated the time & care these gentlemen spent on my car while saving me a ton of money. I will always pick quality and these men delivered! Thank you so much Allen & Charlie. Will be forever grateful for everything you have done to help me. I had major work done~ front differential replacement, drive shaft replacement, brake pads/rotors and transmission fluid replacement. The Cadi runs beautifully now. I have peace of mind knowing all the major work was done & I no longer have to be stressed out anymore driving my car. I had my work van's transmission rebuilt by the Arlington Heights store and I can't say enough about the great service and quality of work. Charlie the manager responded quickly with an estimate and the work was completed in a timely fashion. Al the owner was also very helpful in the process. I would highly recommend them anytime. Then shortly afterwards I needed my radiator repaired and once again I received terrific service.

Charlie and his team are always so great and super helpful! it's extremely hard to find a good and reliable shop but I am so lucky I found AAMCO. whenever there is something wrong with my car I never hesitate to call the guys here and they are always more than happy to help. Highly recommend!

Charlie and the team were great and easy to work with. They got my car in right away and thoroughly checked it out. Turns out it was a transmission issue and even though they could fix it they called the dealership and determined it was still under warranty and directed me to go there so I didn t have to spend the money, thanks!!

AAMCO is open for business during the covid19 pandemic. We brought our van in for brakes. They took care of us quickly and had the van back in one day. We felt very comfortable and safe with Charlie at the front counter. They did a great job and the brakes feel better now than when we bought it new. They are reasonably priced. So if your needing transmission or brake work done, stop by and see Charlie!

I needed an intermittent transmission issue diagnosed and resolved. Charlie and Mike were very friendly and courteous, keeping me informed while they were sorting out my issue. They figured it out and took care of it for me at an excellent price. I'll be bringing my car here for any future work it needs, and I'd recommend them to others as well.

Very detailed and honest. Took my truck there twice and prior to a cross country trip. Charlie was very helpful and helped me prioritize repairs based on my budget. Financing is also available.Love the free head to toe car inspection FREE! This should be standard everywhere!

They had the car for a week to diagnose the issue with the car and said they needed to remove the transmission in order to see what parts are faulty. A little over $1600 just to remove the transmission and an additional cost for any part replacement. I took the car to a part time mechanic and he quickly solved my transmission issue by knowing the speed sensor was damaged. My car rides like new again.Service: Transmission

Had a problem with my garage door and I knocked off my Antenna/Radar that sits on top of my car. Went to the dealer and they wanted $495.00 to fix it. I then remember the guys at AAMCO that fixed my Transmission and my wife s Air conditioning. I asked if they ever fixed one of these radar things and Charlie said they will take a look. I m telling you it looks like new and works great at half the price of the dealer. It is truly a TOTAL Car Care establishment.Services: Electrical, Body & Trim

I have been going to aamco in Arlington Heights servicing my car since 2011. I had a catalytic converter replaced in 2013 that was quite expensive. Charlie was willing to go beyond expectation to help me out to make it affordable for my financial situations. He has great people skills and customer service! I am always referring family and friends to Aamco. There mechanics do great work. Good employees and service ! Keep it up Charlie!!!!

Aamco has been our mechanic services for years now and they have been very reliable and I know my car will be taken care of. Charlie is willing to go above and beyond to make sure our cars are fixed and help out in any way that he can. I had an incredible experience of honesty and professionalism with Al and Charlie. Short story is a dealership diagnosed my car with needing a new transmission for $3,000, or rebuilt one for $1,500, I took it to AAmco because I figured I would save a few bucks vs dealership. Al and Charlie called me that my car was ready, when I asked about the cost Their response blew me away " nothing wrong with your transmission it was just a cable, cost $60" I love doing business with men of such integrity.Mario Mancino

Highly recommend AAMCO to everyone. They did a great job on my Mazda 626. They worked on my transmission 3 years ago and is still running like a champ. Since then my car has been to Mexico 4 times with no issues. Needless to say my car has over 200,000 miles and would have never imagined it would still be on the road. Everyone who works there are nice and respectful. I appreciated them telling me what exactly was wrong with my car and not giving me bs of things that are wrong that other places tend to say to woman. They gave me options and worked with my situation at that time. I appreciate their work and will continue to use them in the future as well as continue to recommend them. I've been taking my cars to AAMCO Arlington Hts. for a number of years now. They were able to do just about all maintenance I have needed on my cars at very reasonable prices. Since Aamco is a transmission specialist, I had once expected them to suggest at some time or another that one of my very high-mileage vehicles would need a new transmission. But never. They only did the work needed! I especially enjoyed the service I received from Charlie Gardner at the front counter. He always was concerned about solving the problem and always communicated successfully to his mechanics about what was needed.

AAMCO in Arlington Heights, IL Did a fantastic job fixing my clutch cable assembly. Very professional and very experienced I found a great shop and seriously did a great job and finding parts I needed for my Suzuki which parts can be tough to find anymore but more importantly was fixed perfectly/I recommend and will be back for any work I need done. I used this place as a second opinion and got the same result. However they were a bit more expensive than the first place but Charlie worked with me by using coupons and rebates which lowered the price to the first quote I received. The owner also gave me rides back and forth to work so I didn't have to spend money on a taxi. I highly recommend them, they seem very honest and caring about your needs. They also have ways to help you get credit so you don't have to pay out of pocket right away.

I am a first time customer of AAMCO of Arlington Heights. Charlie and his staff we're able to diagnose the problem on my car efficiently and order the parts in for me! I was able to get my car fixed later that week! Charlie and his staff were very flexible with the hours that I needed to work around as well! My car runs smoothly now; I have now made them my new shop!

My husband & I took our green Honda Civic in to AAMCO today because the break light came on. Got a call from Charlie a couple of hour later telling us there was no trouble with the break, it was just a dirty sensor causing the break light to go off, they cleaned it out, no charge. WOW! We just couldn't blv it. Other shady shops would have taken the opportunity & charged us an arm & a leg for nothing. Charlie & his techs are very honest, they tell u exactly they way it is, so we highly recommend them to any1.

So 5 times i took my Town and Country to Zeigler Chrysler in Schaumburg, after spending $1400 on trans repairs and tune ups the car still would stall as I would exit the Tollways...Took numerous videos of this happening over the last year, and showed them to John and Bill at Zeigler, and they agreed there was a problem, but couldnt fix it. The extended warranty had 1 month left on it...Frustrated, i tried this Aamco shop. I showed the videos to Charlie the Service Manager and his trans specialist Gino and they would test drive and evaluate the car. The next day Charlie called told me the trans did in fact need rebuilding,that it was the problem and could be repaired and the cost would be $3000. And oh yes, Charlie had arranged the cost to be done under the extended warranty policy. Now looking back over the last year I should have brought this car to the transmission experts. Have had the car back and driven it many, many miles without a problem,Cant say enough good things about Charlie, Gino and their entire staff. Thank you guys again, I will always recommend your shop....

I brought my 2011 BMW X5 here to get a new transmission. They swapped it with an insurance cut-out. That's fine, but they did a horrible job installing it. After they put in the transmission, they did not program the transmission to the car, so car revved very high for no reason. I brought it back to them the next week and they said it's an engine problem and they're not responsible for it. So I took it to the dealer and they charged more money to program the transmission to the car's computer and everything worked fine. I would stay away from this place and not use them for anything. They are dishonest to the max and have horrible customer service. They did not even reimburse me for the dealership's work that they did not perform.

Avoid this place at all cost. Charlie the manager is a scam artist. Went in with a free coupon for a check engine light. Left 6 hours later with a bill of $190.00. No service was done on my car. After all this was told I had a bad camshaft position sensor and 3 bad motor/transmission mounts. Said they would do the service for another $600.00. Trust me, stay away don t throw you money away. I ve already filed a complaint with the BBB about their scam. Terrible!!!

I needed a lot of work done on my car but only did everything but my brakes because I don t have all the money in the world. However, Charlie wouldn t stop harassing and insisting that we do the brakes even though we told him we couldn t. To me it now makes more sense to me that they only want your money because they were gonna charge me about $400 for the tune up and I got it done for less than half the price somewhere else. One other thing is that I guess it s okay for them to test drive the car a little but the other employee that test drove my car got really nervous when I told him that was my car he was driving. So if my any means you HAVE to go here, make sure it s minor work and less work. Don t go in having to fix a lot of stuff.

I loved the stellar customer service. Charlie Gardner is a customer service aficionado he provided superb customer service and detailed explanation of what my car needed and how the repairs would be performed. The team of highly skilled mechanics did precision repairs on my car and got it running like new. I stopped at this Aamco for a brake job and to see if they could identify a terrible noise my car was making while driving. Charlie, the customer service mgr was who took care of me. He was amazing! Extremely friendly and took time to explain exactly what procedures will be taken. I left my car overnight and was told I'd receive a call before any work was started. The next morning Charlie called and gave me an estimate for the brakes and wheel bearings (turns out thats what the noise was.) I authorized the work and was told i could pick up car around 5p.m. When I got there i was surpised to see the bill was actually LESS than what the estimate was! I usually dread having to take my car into the shop for work, but this was definitely a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this Aamco and make sure you ask for Charlie!!!
