Dropped a 6.1 hemi block off couple years ago,told me would be done in a week no assembly just hone and bore block,2 months later nothing,not touched and he said he did this and that to it but wasnt done,and I had asked for it back since it wasn't touched and he said no,shouting profanities etc... on the phone,basically stole my engine block,still has it to this day because I refused to deal with him again,the way he treats customers is terrible after he gets your job into shop ,mostly self control not to show up cause might have not went so well for him,you just have to make a life decision at that point and ask yourself is it worth it? ,name was skip,and very unprofessional,knowledgeable but not professional,if you can't get the job done on the completion date or close,don't take the job!Would be no stars if I could.....

Brought in a cylinder head for repairs after my timing belt slipped. I dropped it off at 2:00on Thursday and Skip called me the next day at 2:00 to come pick it up. Great service! I didn't even ask him to rush it, he just gave it to his shop man when I dropped it off and told him to see what he needed to order so he could get it done without it sitting all weekend. They usually close at 3:00 so be aware of that and cash/check only.Service: Engine repair

Not done on time, and every time I would call there would be some new excuse to why my block couldn t be finished. It was a 4 cylinder and I dropped it off with my own parts but still it couldn t be done within a MONTH AND A HALF!! I would understand maybe if Skip needed to order parts but I bought my own. If you want your work done then you gotta drop it off 5 months in advance.

This place never line honed my block like they charged me for. My $7k SBC tore itself apart just after a month. Just look at that pic of the crank. They stole my last opportunity with this car.Service: Motor buildingService: Motor building

This has to be the worst machine shop in Illinois.I had dropped my block about 1 month ago, the owner had told me personally that the block would take a few days maybe a week.After 2 weeks with the block being there, I went to go and check on the block to see how far along they were, to my surprise the owner left for vacation and my block was left untouched. A few weeks after that I said enough was enough and wanted my block back but when I showed up to get it again my block was barely touched. And when I tried to get my parts and my block back the very unprofessional owner started yelling and started telling me I would leave in handcuffs or in an ambulance. And to sweeten the story the owner lied about the parts I had dropped off, he said he didn t have them when I could clearly see them.To anybody who needs their block worked on, trust me when I say this DONT GO HERE.Service: Engine repair

Took two motors here a couple years ago and the work and service was very high quality. Skips a great guy and was always very polite but the last motor I dropped off has been there for close to a year. Everytime I call for an update he tells me he can't get the parts for a service I didn't even want or ask for. On top of that I have a friend whose dealing with exact same scenario from R and R.Service: Motor building

this guy is psychopath just called to ask him how much labor you charge to rebuild motor he simply said we are done and hung up the phone

Spoke to a employee named Skip. He told me he would be available and at the shop on a Saturday. I drove for 45min to get to the shop only to find that he wasn t there and the shop was closed. I tried calling him and left a voicemail and he didn t answer or bother calling me back. Went over to Apex in Elmhurst, IL. Apex is top notch! Do not do business with RR Engineering.
